Abstract

This study investigates the mechanical performance and durability of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) as an alternative material for modern civil structures. Using a systematic literature review of recent empirical and conceptual studies, the research evaluates how recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) influence compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths, elastic modulus, porosity, and long-term durability under diverse environmental conditions. The findings confirm that although RAC typically demonstrates lower compressive strength, tensile resistance, and stiffness compared to natural aggregate concrete (NAC), these limitations are not intrinsic. They can be effectively mitigated through controlled RCA processing, pre-saturation treatments, supplementary cementitious materials, and fiber reinforcement. Regarding durability, RAC generally exhibits higher water absorption, permeability, and susceptibility to chloride ingress, carbonation, and freeze–thaw damage. Nevertheless, optimized mix designs and appropriate curing regimes can significantly improve its performance, making it suitable for structural applications at low to moderate RCA replacement ratios. Long-term challenges such as creep, shrinkage, fatigue, and fire resistance remain more pronounced in RAC but can be addressed with advanced mix engineering and conservative design practices. This review concludes that RAC is not merely a substitute for NAC but a sustainable material with distinct performance characteristics that require tailored strategies. By integrating technical innovations with quality control and policy support, RAC can contribute to sustainable infrastructure development while maintaining safety and reliability.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of macroeconomic variables on investment strategies and corporate growth in developing economies through a library research approach. The research focuses on the influence of key macroeconomic indicators, including inflation rates, interest rates, exchange rates, and economic growth, on corporate investment decision-making and firm performance. Data were collected from relevant books, academic journals, research reports, and scientific publications and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings reveal that macroeconomic conditions significantly affect firms’ investment behavior by influencing capital costs, expected returns, and business uncertainty. Economic growth and macroeconomic stability encourage investment activities and support corporate expansion, while high inflation, rising interest rates, and exchange rate volatility tend to hinder investment and reduce growth opportunities. The study also finds that firms often adjust or postpone investment decisions during periods of economic uncertainty. Overall, the research highlights the importance of stable macroeconomic environments and adaptive investment strategies in promoting sustainable corporate growth and long-term economic development in developing economies.

Abstract

Village Fund governance in Indonesia has largely been approached as an administrative and fiscal mechanism, overlooking community participation's potential to generate public value. Citizen involvement thus remains procedural, limiting social legitimacy, trust, and development outcomes. This study addresses the need to transform Village Fund governance through substantive participation as a foundation for public value creation. Substantive participation is operationally defined as community involvement across the entire Village Fund cycle (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation) characterized by deliberative spaces, information access, feedback mechanisms, and tangible influence on final decisions—beyond mere attendance in formal forums. The objective is to analyze how substantive participation and institutional collaboration contribute to governance transformation and public value formation in rural contexts. A descriptive qualitative approach with a multiple case study design was conducted in three villages in Magelang Regency (high, moderate, and low participation). Data were collected through interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Thematic analysis compared patterns across villages. Findings reveal that substantive participation and institutional collaboration are key determinants of social legitimacy, operational capacity, and public value outcomes. Causal mechanisms are non-linear: in the high-participation village, a public value forum facilitated by a youth organization enabled residents to propose and monitor an irrigation project. Residents’ trust in the village head increased from 52% to 89% within one year, and fund irregularities declined due to community-based monitoring (real-time information boards and invoice verification). Conversely, the low-participation village exhibited low moral legitimacy and 23% budget leakage.

Abstract

Academic procrastination remains a prevalent issue among university students and has been associated with adverse academic outcomes, including reduced academic performance, poor self-regulation, and increased psychological distress. Although procrastination is often attributed to ineffective time management, growing evidence suggests that underlying psychological factors may play a more substantial role in shaping students’ delaying behaviors. This study investigated the extent to which academic stress and fear of failure predict academic procrastination among undergraduate students. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, and data were collected through self-report questionnaires administered to undergraduate students. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine the predictive contributions of academic stress and fear of failure to academic procrastination. The findings revealed that academic stress significantly and positively predicted academic procrastination, indicating that students experiencing higher levels of academic stress were more likely to delay academic tasks. Fear of failure was also found to be a significant positive predictor of academic procrastination. Furthermore, the regression model demonstrated that academic stress and fear of failure jointly contributed to explaining variations in procrastination behavior. These findings suggest that academic procrastination is influenced not only by behavioral factors but also by psychological vulnerabilities related to stress and failure concerns. Therefore, interventions aimed at reducing academic procrastination should incorporate strategies for stress management and addressing maladaptive fear of failure to enhance students’ academic functioning and self-regulatory capacities.

Abstract

Climate change poses significant challenges to environmental sustainability and governance, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia, where increasing frequencies of natural disasters, ecosystem degradation, and food security risks require adaptive policy responses. This study analyzes the adaptation of public administration policies to climate change and their role in strengthening environmental resilience in Indonesia. Using a qualitative research design, the study examines 15 national policy documents related to climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, environmental management, and sustainable development issued between 2014 and 2024. The analysis employs an Adaptive Governance Framework combined with qualitative policy content analysis to evaluate the extent to which environmental resilience principles are integrated into public administration policies. To ensure analytical rigor, policy documents were selected based on relevance, legal authority, and implementation scope, while coding reliability was enhanced through systematic category development and cross-document comparison. The findings indicate that environmental resilience has been formally incorporated into most national climate-related policies; however, policy implementation remains constrained by institutional fragmentation, limited intergovernmental coordination, and uneven resource allocation across regions. The analysis further reveals that policy integration is strongest in disaster risk reduction and environmental protection sectors but remains weak in cross-sectoral administrative coordination and local-level implementation mechanisms. These findings suggest that strengthening adaptive governance capacities, improving policy coherence, and enhancing collaboration among central government, local authorities, and non-state actors are critical for achieving long-term environmental resilience. The study concludes that Indonesian public administration requires a more integrated and adaptive governance approach to effectively address climate change challenges and support sustainable development objectives.

Abstract

This paper examines the concepts of image and reputation within the framework of Public Relations (PR) and their relevance to Islamic values. Image is understood as the public’s perception shaped by experience and information, while reputation represents the long-term accumulation of assessments based on an organization’s consistent performance and behavior. In modern PR practice, both concepts serve as essential foundations for building public trust and social legitimacy. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes theories of image, reputation, and PR management, and integrates them with Islamic ethical principles such as ṣidq (honesty), amanah (responsibility), ‘adalah (justice), ihsan (benevolence), as well as the values of dakwah and amar ma’ruf nahi munkar. The findings indicate that Islamic values are not only compatible with but also enrich contemporary PR practices by providing strong ethical and spiritual foundations. The integration of Islamic principles encourages communication that is honest, transparent, and dignified, preventing PR activities from relying on manipulative strategies. This approach also serves as a critique of Western paradigms that often emphasize utilitarian and instrumental objectives. Consequently, the incorporation of Islamic values in Public Relations contributes to strengthening an organization’s image and reputation sustainably while fostering a morally grounded and socially beneficial civilization.

Abstract

Visual stimulus training has recently gained increasing attention as a non-pharmacological approach for enhancing cognitive performance and neural efficiency. Modern lifestyles characterized by cognitive overload, prolonged digital exposure, and reduced attentional capacity have contributed to declining cognitive performance among young adults. Visual stimulus interventions are believed to improve attentional control, visuomotor coordination, reaction speed, and executive functioning through neuroplastic adaptation mechanisms. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of visual stimulus training on brain function enhancement among healthy young adults. This study employed a randomized controlled experimental design involving 40 healthy participants aged 18–25 years. Participants were randomly divided into an experimental group (n = 20) and a control group (n = 20). The intervention consisted of an eight-week visual stimulus training program performed three times per week. Cognitive variables assessed included attention, working memory, reaction time, and executive functioning using standardized computerized cognitive tests. Neurophysiological adaptation was evaluated using electroencephalography (EEG). Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests and repeated-measures ANOVA with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results demonstrated significant improvements in the experimental group following the intervention. Attention scores increased from 78.40 ± 6.28 to 87.15 ± 5.74 (p = 0.001), while working memory scores improved from 71.85 ± 5.76 to 80.90 ± 5.28 (p = 0.001). Reaction time decreased significantly from 312.25 ± 21.67 ms to 276.10 ± 18.44 ms (p = 0.001). Executive function scores also improved significantly from 74.20 ± 6.12 to 83.45 ± 5.87 (p = 0.001). EEG analysis revealed increased beta wave activity and reduced alpha wave activity after the intervention. In conclusion, visual stimulus training significantly enhanced cognitive performance and neural activation among healthy young adults. The findings suggest that visual stimulus training may serve as an effective and practical strategy for brain function enhancement.

Abstract

Science literacy and mastery of the concept of the immune system are essential competencies in learning biology, but they are often constrained by the abstract and complex nature of the material. It is necessary to innovate teaching materials in the form of contextual Student Worksheets (LKPD) through the integration of local wisdom to bridge this gap. This study aims to analyze the results of previous research on the development of LKPD of the immune system based on local wisdom on science literacy and concept mastery. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with article searches in the range of 2021–2026 and the PRISMA diagram guide, 12 final articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected. The results of the study show a tendency that the integration of local wisdom into LKPD has been proven to be able to improve science literacy, concept mastery, product validity, practicality, and learning effectiveness. However, empirical studies that specifically integrate local wisdom into immune system materials have not been found, so it has the potential to become a crucial research gap. In conclusion, the development of LKPD of the immune system based on local wisdom, especially through an ethnopharmacological approach, has great potential to become a contextual, meaningful, and relevant biology learning innovation to help students concretize abstract concepts of the body's defense mechanism in accordance with cultural reality.

Abstract

Abstract

The setter is the main tactical thinker in volleyball who can turn the team's uncertain reception into an effective attack based the quick perceptual and decision-making process of a setter. However, the research on the decision-making of a setter is still very limited and scattered among performance analysis, ecological dynamics, and sensing technologies. A systematic literature review was conducted to integrate the findings on perceptual-cognitive elements, attack distribution patterns, and contextual constraints that determine the behavior of elite volleyball setters. A search was done in Scopus with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and a Boolean query, resulting in 466 records. After eliminating duplicates, screening, and assessment of eligibility, only 10 articles were selected for qualitative synthesis and evaluated with the FICO framework (Focus, Information, Context, Outcome). The results showed that the setter's decision-making is most of the time dependent on the spatiotemporal relations between setters, attackers, and blockers. Under normal side-out situations the attack distribution is largely directed to the middle and wing attackers. The quality of the opponent has less influence than the team's offensive strategy, while setting behavior is largely determined by the rule and task constraints. The review demonstrates that setter decision-making is fundamentally constrained by spatiotemporal affordances emerging from setter-attacker-blocker interactions. Findings support an ecological-dynamics interpretation of tactical expertise and highlight opportunities for integrating wearable sensing, social-network analysis, and machine learning approaches into future volleyball performance research.
