Abstract

This paper focuses on the use of enzymes in effective and efficient poultry feed formulations. The introduction highlights the importance of good nutrition for poultry and the increasing need for innovative feed formulations due to limited availability and rising prices of feed ingredients. Enzymes are introduced as protein compounds that enhance nutrient digestion and absorption in poultry, potentially reducing feed production costs. However, their widespread use in Indonesia is still limited due to a lack of knowledge. The paper discusses the role of enzymes in poultry nutrition, including their involvement in digestion and nutrient absorption. It also emphasizes the essential nutrients required for poultry growth and development and the factors influencing their nutritional needs. The types of enzymes commonly used in poultry feed formulations, such as phytase, amylase, protease, and lipase, are explored along with their mechanisms of action. Research findings demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of using enzymes in improving nutrient availability and feed efficiency, ultimately enhancing poultry production productivity and sustainability. The paper concludes with recommendations for the development and application of enzymes in poultry feed formulations, highlighting the need for careful enzyme selection, dosage adjustment, and consideration of environmental conditions. Furthermore, the importance of integrating enzymes with other feed ingredients and adopting a comprehensive nutrition strategy is emphasized. Overall, the use of enzymes in poultry feed formulations offers significant advantages for modern poultry farming, but careful implementation and further research are necessary to optimize their effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the microstructure of natural clay from Pattallassang District, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The clay was characterized using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), surface area analyzer (SAA), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The XRD analysis showed that the main mineral composition of the clay was kaolinite, quartz, hematite, geothite, magnetite, and anatase phases. The SAA using BET analysis shows the large surface area of 59.26 m2/g and BJH analysis for pore distribution of 32.77 nm. SEM observations revealed that the clay consists of plate-like kaolinite particles arranged randomly. The results indicate that the natural clay from Pattallassang District has good potential for use in various industrial applications due to its high kaolinite content and favorable microstructure.

Abstract

Tangerang is counted among Indonesia's fastest-growing industries and population since it is located near the capital. At the current rate of population growth, the population by 2035 is expected to reach more than 2 million by appliying the geometric method. Rapid population growth has severe environmental damage. A simple linear regression calculation was applied to predict the Tangerang waste generation and it is expected to grow to 1,57 million tonnes by 2035. The Pearson's correlation was used to examine the impact of population growth in Tangerang on waste generation. Overall, there is a positive correlation between population growth and waste generation. The increase in the amount of waste can affect the formation of leachate. Rawa Kucing is the main Tangerang landfill that implements an open dumping system in its waste management. One of the negative impacts of the open dumping system is the potential for leachate generation. This study performed a simple calculation of leachate volume to illustrate leachate generation in Rawa Kucing. The more leachate produced, the greater the level of contamination since it contains highly toxic components, and it will escape from the Rawa Kucing landfill, contaminating the groundwater, potentially polluting the environment and harming human health.

Abstract

Urban areas have the function as educational centers. Makassar City is one of the cities with the largest number of campuses in Indonesia. Educational activities directly contribute to the increase in emissions from the mobility of students, lecturers and staff. emissions are one of the causes of global warming. In order to reduce the rate of emissions produced, green open spaces are needed. Therefore, this study aims to identify the ability of plants to absorb carbon dioxide emissions in the campus area. The data analysis used is to compare the amount of carbon dioxide emission produced with the absorption capacity of vegetation. The results showed that the ability of the existing Green Open Space at campus to absorb CO2produced from all types of vehicles both two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles) and four-wheeled vehicles (cars) in all access zones, can be absorbed entirely by vegetation where the total amount of CO2 produced is 47,822.4 g/hour while plant’s ability in absorbing the amount of CO2 is 652,855.1 g/hour and there are still more 605,032.7 g/hour CO2 that can be absorbed. Furthermore, the next will be necessary to predict the number of emissions produced.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the problemsolvingskills of SMA Negeri 1 Tinambungstudents in biology subjects. The kind of research used is descriptive research with survey method using simple random sampling technique. The research subjects in this study were students of class XI MIA which consisted of 5 classes and each class was represented by 11 people, so the research subjects amounted to 55 respondent. Data collection in this study used problem solving skills test questions in the form of essays and structured interviews with biology subject teachers, lesson plan document which were intended to serve as additional information on research results. Based on the test results, the problem solving skills of students are in the less category with the percentage of understand problem 42.27%, plan completion 56.36%, solve the problem 33.18%, review procces and results 53.18%. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the problem solving skills of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Tinambung is still not enough. Abstract

Fish feed is the most important part of the success of a fish farming. In general, the quality of feed is considered to spur increased growth. However, it is time for fish feed innovations that can also increase fish resistance to exposure to pollution. The purpose of this study was to determine the bacteria in the digestive tract of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from Rawa Biru Merauke and to determine the effect of the dose of probiotics on the growth of tilapia. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Aquatic Resources Management, Faculty of Agriculture, Musamus University and the Laboratory of Fish Quarantine Station for Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products Class II Merauke. This study was conducted in a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Based on the research results, the probiotics found in the intestines of tilapia are Lactobacillussp. Feed + Probiotic X. 20 ml/Kg feed + molasses 10 v/v probiotic is the best combination. The addition of probiotics to commercial pellets can be used as an immunostimulant, this is proven by the increase in weight and length of fish kept in aquariums. The potential of tilapia fish offal as an immunostimulant needs to be continuously studied to be applied to fish farmers to suppress the use of antibiotics in disease control efforts, and increase tilapia production in Merauke Regency.

Abstract

is study aims to determine the heavy metal content contained in the soil in the area around the gold mining in the Sungai Kuantan, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi, Riau. There was 4 predetermined sampling points using GPS. Analysis of metal content in the soil was performed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results of the study found that there are heavy metal content in soil samples of Pb, Hg, Zn, As, Cd and Cu. Based on the threshold value of predetermined sediment / soil, the concentration of heavy metals contained in the soil in the area around the gold mining in the kuantan river far exceeds the predetermined threshold.

Abstract

The research aims to examine the potential of tofu industry wastewater (whey) to become a product of economic value for society. The research was carried out using a survey method to identify whey wastewater production in the tofu industry and continued with experiments on the characterization and processing of whey wastewater on a laboratory scale. Whey wastewater is processed using a honeycomb anaerobic biodigester with a capacity of 120 liters. The research stage involves making a starter from a mixture of cow dung, water, and whey wastewater (3:1:1) which is fermented for 21 days. After the starter shows that the growth of microorganisms (MO) is in the log, it is continued with one liter of whey wastewater every day. The results obtained show that whey wastewater contains protein 0,9482%,, carbohydrate0,4473% and fat0,2186% which is a substrate for MO. Anaerobic processing of whey wastewater using a honeycomb anaerobic biodigester produces biogas with a blue flame (methane gas > 45%). Then the Honeycomb biodigester slurry contains urea compounds which are fertilizer ingredients. Therefore, the potential for processing whey wastewater can produce renewable energy (biogas), liquid and solid organic fertilizer containing vitamin E and thiophospatoethyl aminohexylurea (N and P elements) as well as being a solution for handling environmental pollution, thereby creating a sustainable.

Abstract

South Sulawesi Province is listed as the province with the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the Sulawes island. Research on Covid-19 modeling has been carried out by many researchers, but until now, there has been no research using the Bayesian spatial Conditional Autoregressive Localized model which involves a combination of factors such as distance to the provincial capital, population density, and the number of elderly people in each district in South Sulawesi Province. The aim of this research is to get the best Bayesian Conditional Autoregressive Localized model. The best model is based on four criteria, namely: Deviance Information Criteria, Watanabe Akaike Information Criteria, residuals from Modified Moran's I, and the number of areas included in a group. It was found that model with G=3 by including population density covariates was the best model. A significant factor influencing the increase in Covid-19 cases is the population density factor which has a positive effect. This shows that the more densely populated an area is, the greater the chance of being infected with Covid-19. Makassar has the highest relative risk value for Covid-19 followed by Toraja district and Pare-Pare City. Meanwhile, Bone district has the lowest relative risk value for Covid-19, followed by Wajo district and Enrekang district.

Abstract

Stunting adalah suatu kondisi yang menunjukkan adanya hambatan pertumbuhan yang bersifat kronis yang disebabkan oleh malanutrisi jangka panjang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui prevalensi kejadian stunting pada balita yang dihubungkan dengan pola asuh ibu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif korelasional dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah cross sectional study. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pengolahan data Statistical Package For Social Sciense (SPSS). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pola asuh ibu (responden) di Desa Tamalate Kecamatan Galesong Utara Kabupaten Takalar Tahun 2023, sebagian besar menganut pola asuh ibu dalam pemberian makan kategori demokratis yaitu 14(26,9%) responden, kategori otoriter sebanyak 11 (21,2%) responden, kategori permisif sebanyak 9 (17,3%) responden, dan kategori pengabaian sebanyak 18 (34,6%) responden. Sehingga prevalensi stunting pada balita responden di Desa Tamalate Kecamatan Galesong Utara Kabupaten Takalar Tahun 2023, sebagian besar mengalami stunting 43 (82,7%) responden. Terdapat hubungan pola asuh ibu dalam pemberian makan dengan prevalensi atau kejadian stunting pada balita di Desa Tamalate Kecamatan Galesong Utara Kabupaten Takalar Tahun 2023 (ρ 0,028; r 0,305).
