Abstract

The learning process for students in the faculty of medicine has some objectives according to cognitive and skill. Especially for skills, some indicators were listed in a form of clinical skills assessment. Thus, indicators in the assessment of clinical skills were set based on established competency standards. Clinical skills examination was designed and implemented by health programs including medical science study programs. The health sciences study program should carry out learning with uniformity of patterns in the applied curriculum. This study to analyze the problems in conducting clinical examination on faculty of medicine. The results of this studied obtain a complete description of the needs in implementation of the Objective Structured Clinical Skills Examination (OSCE) for medical study programs with a descriptive qualitative method as an initial step in developing the OSCE exam model that aims to improve the competency abilities of clinical skills of students. This research presents descriptive qualitative data in a structured way in presenting data obtained through narrative stages of the preparation, implementation and evaluation of OSCE implementation. As the conclusion of this research, there was no similar pattern between medical study programs due to the absence of curriculum review activities so that uniformity in the implementation of OSCE cannot be carried out optimally. This study provides further recommendations to medical study programs to conduct an associate relationship in curriculum review because by reviewing the competencies of each graduate from a different university medical study program will be in the equivalent category.

Abstract

Teaching materials can improve students' writing skills. However, in developing teaching materials, it is necessary to understand the needs of students. This study aims to analyze the needs of students and lecturers in writing drama scripts. This qualitative research analyzes the first stage of the Research and Development design. The approach used is qualitative. The methods used in collecting data are interviews and questionnaires. The research subjects were 20 students. The technique used in analyzing the data is the qualitative analysis technique. The findings show that they need student worksheets that can motivate, collaborate, increase enthusiasm for learning, facilitate, provide time for asking questions, provide feedback, have clear instructions, and can be accessed anywhere. This study recommends Schoology as the solution. On the other hand, lecturers need technology-based tools to support their creativity and provide feedback for students anywhere, even outside the classroom. Therefore, Schoology, as an innovative learning media platform, can be used to meet the needs of lecturers and students. The platform is practical for both parties and can be accessed from a browser installed on a laptop computer or mobile phone. With all these advantages and disadvantages, Schoology becomes an alternative for the needs of lecturers and students to learn and teach writing poetry-based drama scripts.

Abstract

In education, there are still many problems with the performance of employees, school principals, or education providers that are not satisfactory. In a country, quality human resources will provide the welfare of its people. Therefore, improving the welfare of the Indonesian people must be based on the development of quality services and education. This study aims to describe the distribution of tutors, assess their professionalism, and produce policy recommendations for the Open University in general. This type of research is a survey with a research sample of 258 tutors, namely 127 male (49.2%) and 131 female (50.8%). The instrument used is a professionalism questionnaire comprising six constructs with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.924. The technique used to analyze the data is quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between income, age, years of service, rank, and professional work status (P<0.05), but there was no relationship between gender and professionalism (P>0.05). This study recommends the need to recruit new tutors considering that many tutors are over 50 years old. There are also some tutors with Bachelor's degrees who need to be upgraded to tutors with Masters or even Doctoral degrees.
