Abstract

Ukhuwah Islamiyah is an equivalent term for good social interaction between individuals in Islam. The concept of ukhuwah or brotherhood can be realized through guidance and counseling efforts. In the "world" this guidance and counseling effort is known as group guidance services. This paper aims to examine group guidance in improving ukhuwah Islamiyah through a gestalt approach with discussion techniques at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory (MAL) UIN North Sumatra Medan. This research is focused on how the group guidance service efforts with discussion techniques in improving ukhuwah Islamiyah at MAL UIN North Sumatra Medan and what factors support and hinder the process. For this reason, a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method is appropriate to uncover empirical truths of research. The results of this study indicate that group counseling services with discussion techniques can improve student ukhuwah Islamiyah at MAL UIN North Sumatra Medan. This is indicated by (1) good interpersonal communication between students; (2) students' familiarity in finding solutions to shared problems; (3) tolerance of differences in argumentation; and (4) empathy for the situation felt by peers.

Abstract

The Indonesian government formally enforces rules of study, worship, and work from home from March 16, 2020. Minimizing and limiting meetings involving physical contact is an effort to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These conditions have implications for the effectiveness of the learning process in higher education. The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of student psychology on online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method uses a qualitative research type of phenomenology. The research subjects were 30 students of Mulawarman University who were interviewed via telephone. The research findings show that (1) students have started to get bored with online learning after the first two weeks of learning from home, (2) considerable anxiety on research subjects whose parents have low income, because they have to buy quotas to be able to participate in online learning, ( 3) mood or mood changes occur due to too many assignments and are considered ineffective by students. Suggestions and recommendations from this research are the need for severe efforts in assisting the psychological well-being of students through the involvement of counselors and psychologists.

Abstract

The counseling perspective has a role in providing a personality description that feels needs attention in counseling. Personality, according to two figures in the science of counseling, the concept of personality formulated by Al-Ghazali and Sigmund Freud has suitability as well as facilitating or contributing personality theories to counseling that makes justification when the counseling process. The design of this study is an analytic design aimed at testing hypotheses and carrying out a more in-depth interpretation of a relationship of conformity in content and data. The difference in human concepts, according to Al-Ghazali and Sigmund Freud, lies in the workings of the three terms of human personality. Al-Ghazali explained that the dimension of the nafs is a level that has the potential that every human being will be in it. Whereas the concept of the structure of the human personality that has been explained according to Freud, that is, the three systems are interrelated and controlled by the ego as a controller for deciding a human behavior and personality.

Abstract

Career Planning for Students with Physical Disabilities is crucial to be prepared. A good career planning picture must contain four aspects of career planning which consist of seeking information, understanding, making decisions, and career achievement. The purpose of this study was to explore in-depth career planning in students of the Special School for Physical Disabilities (SLB) 1 Yogyakarta. This study used a qualitative approach, with the type of case study research, the subjects in this study were two students with physical disabilities, the first subject had moderate cerebral palsy and the second subject experienced abnormalities in the muscle system and skin groups. (musculus skeletal system) spina bifida. Then the secondary sources are teachers and parents. The data collection technique used triangulation in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study concluded that the career planning of the two early TA and DI students had differences. TA has not been able to do career planning. Because in the search for information, understanding, decision making, and career skills, TA cannot do it. Meanwhile, DI is capable of career planning because DI can find career information, even though DI is still a little doubtful due to lack of confidence, DI career decision making can be even though it is still not effective in managing free time. DI career skills are said to be capable, even though DI does not attend any additional education (courses).

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between cigarette addiction, simultaneous smartphone addiction and self-control. The subjects who became respondents were students who live in the male dormitory of Satya Wacana Christian University, totalling 109 students as the population. The sampling technique chosen was purposive sampling with the criteria of students who were active smokers and were involved in using smartphones. The research method used is correlational quantitative. The sample consisted of 33 students. The analysis technique used is the multiple correlation formula. Based on the results of various correlation analyzes, the R-value is -0.350 in the opposite direction. For comparison, the Fcount value is found to be 2.128 and the F table with a significant 5% of 4,130. In other words, Fcount <Ftable, which means there is no significant relationship. The results of this study found that there was no significant relationship between cigarette addiction, simultaneous smartphone addiction and self-control.

Abstract

Individuals must own respect because it can be an internal controller in making logical decisions to behave by moral values. This study aimed to confirm the effectiveness of the values clarification group counselling on respect. This study used a repeated measure experimental design. The subjects in this study were 10 students at SMK Negeri 2 Mataram who indicated having a low category of respect. Data were collected using a respectful attitude questionnaire. Data analysis used repeated measure statistics ANOVA. The results of this study indicate that values clarification group counselling is effective in increasing student respect. Students' understanding regarding respect is inseparable from how to create good relationships between students and teachers as a form of creating a healthy and conducive school climate.

Abstract

This article is aimed to determine the effectiveness of group guidance in improving understanding, attitudes, and practice of religious character values in the aspects of faith, worship, morals, and muamalah. The method used was an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of 137 people. The number of samples was 30 students with a general school or junior high school education background. Fifteen students were taken as the experimental group, and fifteen others were taken as the control group. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS 16.0 for windows. The results of the study showed that the average score of the experimental group was higher than the control group. The t-test results also showed that group guidance could significantly improve understanding, attitudes, and practice of religious character values. Abstract

One of the important dimensions and aspects that are the key to addressing the needs of the role and function of democracy is to seek change or transformation of forms, systems and institutional structures. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the respondent (lecturer) which correlated with the type of Spiritual Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence and the type of personality possessed by perceptual lecturers in the transformation process of STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro into IAIN Metro. This type of research is quantitative. The nature of the research emphasizes numerical data (numbers) processed by statistical methods. While the research approach is carried out by describing the ex post facto. For data processing techniques using validity and reliability tests using the product-moment formula. The data analysis used in this research is the univariate analysis test, multivariate analysis test, classical assumption test, hypothesis test, and direct and indirect effect test. The results showed that the attitude of the lecturers influenced the transformation of STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro into IAIN Metro. The attitude of the lecturer towards the post-transformation process of STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro into IAIN Metro is a conflicting dysfunctional behaviour, covering several interconnected aspects, namely cognitive, affection, and behaviour which are influenced by various factors.

Abstract

Students who are in the adolescence phase begin to show an interest in the opposite sex as shown by dating behavior. The phenomenon of dating behavior among adolescents today shows a wrong perception such as to prove love, they often engage in hand-holding, kissing, hugging and even having sex which is clearly prohibited in Islam. If the problem is not immediately revealed, it will cause serious moral damage to adolescents. The study aims to reveal students ' perception of free sex behavior in terms of gender differences. The research method used was the comparative quantitative type with the research respondents of the State Junior High School 24 Kerinci which consisted of  78 people. The research Data were revealed with a scale of free sex behavior and analyzed by using the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that there were different perceptions between male and female students to free sex behavior namely the score was 0,005 sig.

Abstract

Discipline is a positive and constructive force in shaping children's character related to the environment; the application of disciplinary values must be carried out continuously, to achieve all expected goals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Islamic value-based group counselling to reduce students' late behaviour. The instrument used in this study was a late behaviour questionnaire. The research was conducted at one of Budi Mulia Utama Senior High School in East Jakarta, with 8 students as the research subject. The design that will be used is one group pretest-posttest design. The results of the t-test data analysis showed that Islamic value-based group counselling was effective in reducing students' late behaviour. The findings in the field show that students' late behaviour has decreased after being given group counselling services. Group counselling is carried out by internalizing Islamic values related to discipline in service content at each stage of its implementation. Cultivating Islamic values builds children's awareness of discipline and values time and forms a responsible character.
