Abstract

This research aims to develop android-based instructional media to build computational thinking skill for High School students using the ADDIE Model. Computational thinking is studied in informatics subjects. The development product has gained an expert feasibility assessment and tested on students. The research instruments are questionnaires and test. Experts include content experts, instructional media experts, and instructional design experts. Trials to students consist of one-on-one evaluation, small group evaluation and tryout or classroom. The results of the assessment of experts show that the product is very feasible to use as instructional media. Small group evaluation and tryout at classroom shown that the product is categorized as very feasible to be used as multimedia to develop computational thinking. The effectiveness of product development is measured by pretest and posttest. The effectiveness test results show a t-test value of -14.162 with a significance level of 0.000 (p value < 0.05), meaning that there is a difference in the average value of the pretest and posttest. Thus, the use of C-Think as an instructional media is effectively to improve computational thinking skills of high school students. Highlights: Development Process: Utilizing the ADDIE Model ensures systematic development of instructional media for effective learning outcomes. Expert Evaluation: Expert feasibility assessment validates the quality and appropriateness of the developed instructional media. Effectiveness Testing: Pretest-posttest analysis demonstrates significant improvement in computational thinking skills among high school students using the developed Android-based instructional media. Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to explore and summarize the emerging pedagogical practices in online learning during the pandemic period, namely from 2019 to 2021. A meta-analysis of related studies was carried out in this study. The study was obtained from the Google Scholar and Scopus databases using online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. 500 studies were identified, then analyzed to match the criteria set out for this study. Only five studies fulfilled these criteria and were thus selected for the study. The four studies included in this review emphasize different pedagogical practices of online learning and repost their impact on academic outcomes. Four studies were quantitative, while one was developmental. The pedagogical practices are flipped classroom, augmented reality, problem-based learning, and project-based learning. Furthermore, how this pedagogy is applied in an online learning environment is also presented in the research results section. This paper is original and very useful for educators/instructors because it can be the basis for developing effective online learning designs for students in the new normal era.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the problems faced by students when learning mathematics in class II elementary school, especially in addition and subtraction material. This research is a type of qualitative research conducted in September 2023 at SD Negeri 1 Ngumpul. The method used is descriptive, with the research subject focusing on class II students. Research instruments include the use of tests, interviews, and document collection. The analytical method used is Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis, which includes the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research findings indicate that 1) a number of students have difficulty understanding addition and subtraction material; 2) this difficulty is caused by limited reading ability, so students find it difficult to understand the meaning of the questions; 3) This problem is also experienced by class II students because their understanding of the concept of sequential addition and subtraction is still not optimal; 4) students' learning difficulties are caused by a lack of attention to the use of addition and subtraction symbols in saving and borrowing techniques. Based on research suggestions, it is to support assistance in the process of learning addition and subtraction by educators or parents, as well as presenting questions in stages, according to commonly used learning methods.
