Abstract

AbstractThe current low quality of education is caused by several factors, namely leadership, teachers, students, curriculum, and cooperative networks. Of the existing factors, the one most closely related to the low and advanced quality of education, especially in Islamic boarding schools, is the leader or better known as the kiai. This study aims to analyze the leadership of K.H. Imam Zarkasyi in pioneering modern islamic boarding schools namely To find out the educational leadership strategy of K.H. Imam Zarkasyi and his educational leadership style. This study uses a qualitative approach with the method of library research. The data analysis technique used the content analysis method. This research found the leadership strategy implemented by K.H. Imam Zarkasyi in pioneering modern islamic boarding schools, by benchmarking four world-renowned educational institutions. Then K.H. Imam Zarkasyi reformed his madrasah education system, the pesantren education system, and the institutional system. The leadership style used by K.H. Imam Zarkasyi is by combining 3 styles namely democratic, charismatic, and transformational styles. AbstrakRendahnya mutu pendidikan saat ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, yaitu kepemimpinan, guru, siswa, kurikulum, dan jaringan kerja sama. Dari faktorfaktor yang ada, yang paling berkaitan erat dengan rendah dan majunya mutu pendidikan terutama di pondok pesantren yaitu pimpinan atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan kiai. Studi ini bertujuan menganalisis kepemimpinan K.H. Imam Zarkasyi dalam merintis pesantren modern yang meliputi strategi dan gaya kepemimpinan K.H. Imam Zarkasyi. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode kepustakaan (library research). Adapun teknik analisis datanya menggunakan metode analisis isi. Studi ini menghasilkan temuan strategi kepemimpinan yang diterapkan oleh K.H. Imam Zarkasyi dalam merintis pesantren modern yaitu dengan melakukan benchmarking dari empat lembaga pendidikan terkenal dunia yang ditindaklanjuti dengan melakukan pembaruan sistem pendidikan madrasah, sistem pendidikan pesantren, dan sistem kelembagaan. Sedangkan gaya kepemimpinan yang digunakan oleh K.H. Imam Zarkasyi yaitu menggabungkan 3 gaya: gaya demokratis, karismatik, dan transformasional.

Abstract

This study aims to explore (1) how State Primary School Patereman 2 utilizes local culture as a medium to instill Islamic educational values, and (2) how the process of internalizing Islamic values occurs through Madurese local cultural habituation. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved religious teachers, community religious leaders, students participating in kompolan activities, and parents. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the pattern-matching technique with methodological and source triangulation for validity. The findings reveal that kompolan, a distinctive Madurese religious cultural practice, effectively serves as a vehicle for the internalization of Islamic values among students. The process of habituation creates repeated interactions between learners and the local religious environment, enabling the formation of a religious habitus as explained by Bourdieu’s theory of habitus, capital, and field. This study contributes to the understanding of how ethnopedagogical practices grounded in local culture can strengthen Islamic character education in elementary schools. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi (1) bagaimana SD Negeri Patereman 2 memanfaatkan budaya lokal sebagai media penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam, dan (2) bagaimana proses internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam berlangsung melalui habituasi budaya lokal Madura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian meliputi guru pendidikan agama Islam, tokoh agama, siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan kompolan, dan orang tua siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik pattern matching serta triangulasi metode dan sumber untuk menguji validitas data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompolan, sebagai praktik budaya religius khas masyarakat Madura, terbukti efektif menjadi sarana internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam pada siswa. Proses habituasi menciptakan interaksi berulang antara peserta didik dan lingkungan religius lokal, sehingga terbentuk habitus religius sebagaimana dijelaskan oleh teori Bourdieu tentang habitus, modal, dan ranah. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman tentang bagaimana praktik etnopedagogis berbasis budaya lokal dapat memperkuat pendidikan karakter Islam di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Waqf represents a powerful economic instrument with substantial potential to empower communities, particularly in countries with large Muslim populations. In the digital era, innovations in the management of productive waqf offer new opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of waqf fund utilization. This study aims to explore innovative models of productive waqf management and their impact on community economic empowerment. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research conducts a comprehensive literature review of journal articles, books, and other relevant sources to analyze digital waqf practices in developing countries. The findings reveal that digital innovations—such as crowdfunding platforms, blockchain technology, and mobile applications—can significantly improve the efficiency, accountability, and outreach of waqf management. These technologies hold substantial potential to expand waqf fundraising, enhance transparency, and facilitate greater public participation. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, including low digital literacy, limited public trust in digital waqf systems, and the need to align regulatory frameworks with technological developments. This study offers insights and recommendations for policymakers and practitioners, particularly in Indonesia, to harness digital waqf innovations in supporting sustainable development and advancing community empowerment.   Abstrak Wakaf merupakan instrumen ekonomi yang kuat dengan potensi signifikan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat, terutama di negara-negara dengan populasi Muslim yang besar. Di era digital, inovasi dalam pengelolaan wakaf produktif menghadirkan peluang untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pemanfaatan dana wakaf. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi model-model inovatif pengelolaan wakaf produktif dan dampaknya terhadap pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kulalitatif dengan teknik tinjauan pustaka yang komprehensif dari artikel jurnal, buku, dan sumber-sumber relevan untuk menganalisis praktik wakaf digital di negara-negara berkembang. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi digital seperti platform crowdfunding, teknologi blockchain, dan aplikasi seluler dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi, akuntabilitas, dan jangkauan pengelolaan wakaf. Teknologi-teknologi ini menawarkan potensi untuk memperluas penghimpunan dana wakaf, meningkatkan transparansi, dan memfasilitasi partisipasi publik yang lebih besar. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan, termasuk rendahnya literasi digital, terbatasnya kepercayaan publik terhadap sistem wakaf digital, dan perlunya menyelaraskan kerangka regulasi dengan perkembangan teknologi. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan dan rekomendasi bagi para pembuat kebijakan dan praktisi, khususnya di Indonesia, dalam memanfaatkan inovasi wakaf digital untuk mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan dan memberdayakan masyarakat.

Abstract

This research aims to invigorate the discourse on the educational thought of Al-Nahlawi, a figure frequently referenced yet seldom critically examined in Indonesia. Specifically, this study aims to: (1) Analyze the major ideas and ideological underpinnings of Al-Nahlawi's thoughts; (2) Trace the influence of the socio-political context of Syria on his work; and (3) Reveal the dichotomization of Western vs. Islamic education in his discourse. To achieve these objectives, this study employs the method of hermeneutic analysis to examine his major ideas and critical discourse analysis based on Fowler's model to investigate the diction and underlying ideology of his language. The research concludes that: Al-Naḥlāwī's thinking was significantly influenced by Syria's political dynamics and his concerns about the Islamic revival, which led him to adopt a stance of resistance against the West. His central idea focuses on returning humanity to its innate nature (fitrah) through the application of ideal Islamic educational principles, covering objectives, subject matter, curriculum, and methods. The primary conclusion of this study is that Al-Naḥlāwī's critique of Western education—which he describes with vocabulary such as "calamity," "disbelief" (kufr), and "non-integral"—not only constructs a sharp dichotomy but also affirms that his work is a form of ideological resistance, clearly represented in all its elements.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meramaikan diskursus tentang pemikiran pendidikan Al-Nahlawi, seorang tokoh Pendidikan Islam yang sering dirujuk namun jarang dikritisi secara mendalam di Indonesia. Secara spesifik, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) Menganalisis gagasan besar dan relasi ideologi dalam pemikiran Al-Nahlawi; (2) Menelusuri pengaruh konteks sosio-politik Suriah terhadap karyanya; dan (3) Mengungkap dikotomi pendidikan Barat vs. Islam dalamwacananya. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis hermeneutika untuk mengulas gagasan besarnya dan analisiswacanakritis model Fowler menginvestigasi diksi serta ideologi yang mendasari bahasanya. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pemikiran Al-Naḥlāwī sangat dipengaruhi oleh dinamika politik Suriah dan kegundahannyaakankebangkitan Islam, yang mendorongnya pada posisi perlawanan terhadap Barat. Gagasan inti ini berfokus pada pengembalian umat manusia kepada fitrah penerapan prinsip-prinsip pendidikan Islam yang ideal, mencakuptujuan, materi, kurikulum, hingga metode. Simpulan utama penelitian ini adalah bahwa kritik Al-Naḥlāwī terhadap pendidikan Barat—yang digambarkannyadengankosa kata seperti "musibah", "kufur", dan "tidak integral"—tidak hanya membangun dikotomi yang tajam, tetapi juga perlawanan ideologis yang terepresentasi secara jelas dalam seluruh unsurnya.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the moral values contained in the Ningkuk ritual and how these values are instilled in young women in the Sukarami Village community. In addition, this study explains the function of Ningkuk as a model of non-formal character education based on local wisdom and assesses its relevance to the development of national character education. This study examines the integration of Islamic values in the Ningkuk ritual as a model of character education based on the local wisdom of the Sukarami Village community in South Sumatra. Using an ethnographic approach, this study collected data through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and cultural documentation. The results show that the Ningkuk ritual contains Islamic character values, including birrul walidain, gratitude, patience, cooperation (ta'awun), social solidarity (ukhuwah), manners, responsibility, and spirituality. These values are internalized not through verbal instruction but through social practices, cultural symbols, and intergenerational inheritance mechanisms. This study fills a gap in research that has so far overlooked how Islamic values are substantively integrated into the Ningkuk procession, and how this ritual can be reconstructed into a contextual character education model that is compatible with national education policy. This study concludes that Ningkuk is an authentic pedagogical resource that has strategic relevance for formal and non-formal education, especially in the development of local content curricula and culture-based character building programs. These findings offer a theoretical and practical framework for the integration of Islamic values and local wisdom in the design of character education in Indonesia.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai moral yang terkandung dalam ritual Ningkuk dan bagaimana nilai-nilai tersebut ditanamkan pada perempuan muda di komunitas Desa Sukarami. Selain itu, penelitian ini menjelaskan fungsi Ningkuk sebagai model pendidikan karakter non-formal berdasarkan kebijaksanaan lokal dan mengevaluasi relevansinya terhadap pengembangan pendidikan karakter nasional. Penelitian ini mengkaji integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam ritual Ningkuk sebagai model pendidikan karakter berdasarkan kebijaksanaan lokal komunitas Desa Sukarami di Sumatera Selatan. Dengan pendekatan etnografis, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ritual Ningkuk mengandung nilai-nilai karakter Islam, termasuk birrul walidain, rasa syukur, kesabaran, kerja sama (ta'awun), solidaritas sosial (ukhuwah), sopan santun, tanggung jawab, dan spiritualitas. Nilai-nilai ini diinternalisasi bukan melalui instruksi verbal, melainkan melalui praktik sosial, simbol budaya, dan mekanisme pewarisan antar generasi. Penelitian ini mengisi kekosongan dalam penelitian yang hingga kini belum memperhatikan bagaimana nilai-nilai Islam secara substansial diintegrasikan ke dalam prosesi Ningkuk, serta bagaimana ritual ini dapat direkonstruksi menjadi model pendidikan karakter kontekstual yang sesuai dengan kebijakan pendidikan nasional. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa Ningkuk merupakan sumber pedagogis autentik yang memiliki relevansi strategis bagi pendidikan formal dan non-formal, terutama dalam pengembangan kurikulum konten lokal dan program pembentukan karakter berbasis budaya. Temuan ini menawarkan kerangka teoretis dan praktis untuk integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dan kebijaksanaan lokal dalam desain pendidikan karakter di Indonesia.

Abstract

The transformation of economic behavior among Indonesia’s urban middle-class Muslims has been significantly influenced by digitalization and the rapid growth of Islamic fintech. This study explores how Sharia economic law adapts to these transformations, particularly in the context of daily market transactions. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations and interviews in selected traditional markets such as Beringharjo (Yogyakarta), Antasari (Banjarmasin), and Ngronggo (Kediri) representing diverse urban settings. The findings reveal that digital payment adoption and hybrid trading systems (combining oral bargaining and digital settlement) have reshaped the understanding and application of Sharia principles. Traders and consumers demonstrate pragmatic flexibility by seeking local religious guidance (fatwas) to ensure compliance while embracing efficiency. This study contributes new insights by linking the transformation of Sharia economic law with real practices of middle-class Muslims in digital-era marketplaces, highlighting the dynamic interplay between legal norms, technology, and socio-economic class.   Abstrak Transformasi perilaku ekonomi di kalangan masyarakat Muslim kelas menengah perkotaan di Indonesia telah banyak dipengaruhi oleh proses digitalisasi dan pertumbuhan pesat fintech syariah. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana hukum ekonomi syariah beradaptasi terhadap perubahan tersebut, khususnya dalam konteks transaksi ekonomi sehari-hari di pasar tradisional. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara di beberapa pasar tradisional terpilih seperti Pasar Beringharjo (Yogyakarta), Pasar Antasari (Banjarmasin), dan Pasar Ngronggo (Kediri) yang merepresentasikan berbagai konteks perkotaan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adopsi pembayaran digital dan munculnya sistem perdagangan hibrida (menggabungkan tawar-menawar lisan dengan penyelesaian digital) telah mengubah pemahaman dan penerapan prinsip-prinsip syariah. Para pedagang dan konsumen menunjukkan fleksibilitas yang pragmatis dengan mencari panduan keagamaan lokal (fatwa) agar tetap sesuai dengan prinsip syariah sambil memanfaatkan efisiensi teknologi digital. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi baru dengan mengaitkan transformasi hukum ekonomi syariah dengan praktik nyata masyarakat Muslim kelas menengah di pasar era digital, serta menyoroti dinamika antara norma hukum, teknologi, dan kelas sosial-ekonomi.

Abstract

This study explores the role of religious institutions through fatwas in the formation of public policy in Indonesia, particularly major institutions such as the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and Muhammadiyah. The main objective is to understand how fatwas are produced by religious organizations and how they impact the political process and government policy. The research problem stems from the phenomenon that fatwas, although they do not have formal legal force, are often used as moral references by the community and are even considered by the government in formulating public policy. The research approach uses qualitative field studies: interviews with fatwa figures, analysis of fatwa documents, and observation of the interaction between religious institutions and public officials in several regions. The findings show that fatwas serve as moral and social legitimacy as well as non-formal influence on the formulation of public policy. Although not legally binding, the influence of fatwas on policy guidance is quite significant, especially on moral and social issues, as well as the creation of a space for dialogue between the state and society. The implications of the research results show the importance of understanding the role of fatwas not only as religious products but also as social political instruments in the architecture of public policy.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran lembaga keagamaan melalui fatwa dalam pembentukan kebijakan publik di Indonesia, khususnya lembaga-lembaga utama seperti Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), dan Muhammadiyah. Tujuan utama adalah memahami bagaimana fatwa diproduksi oleh organisasi keagamaan dan bagaimana dampaknya terhadap proses politis dan kebijakan pemerintah. Masalah penelitian berangkat dari fenomena bahwa fatwa, meskipun tidak memiliki kekuatan hukum formal, sering dijadikan rujukan moral oleh masyarakat dan bahkan dipertimbangkan pemerintah dalam merumuskan kebijakan publik. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan studi lapangan kualitatif: wawancara dengan tokoh fatwa, analisis dokumen fatwa, dan observasi interaksi lembaga keagamaan dengan pejabat publik di beberapa daerah. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa fatwa berfungsi sebagai legitimasi moral dan sosial sekaligus pengaruh nonformal terhadap perumusan kebijakan publik. Meskipun tidak bersifat mengikat secara hukum, pengaruh fatwa terhadap panduan kebijakan cukup signifikan, terutama dalam isu moral dan sosial, serta penciptaan ruang dialog antara negara dan masyarakat. Implikasi hasil penelitian menunjukkan pentingnya memahami peran fatwa bukan hanya sebagai produk keagamaan, tetapi juga sebagai instrumen politik sosial dalam arsitektur kebijakan publik.

Abstract

Early marriage and child stunting remain persistent issues in Sirampog District, Brebes, a highland horticultural area characterized by long farming hours and limited service access in its upper hamlets. Although national and local initiatives including Presidential Regulation No. 72/2021, Jo Kawin Bocah, KUA premarital guidance, and posyandu services are available, policy messages often remain at the level of general moral advice and are not sufficiently translated into practical 1,000-day nutrition behaviors. This study aims to: (1) identify the social and religious determinants of early marriage; (2) assess how family resilience spiritual, economic, relational, and parenting dimensions—shapes child nutritional status; and (3) estimate the relationship between early marriage and stunting after accounting for parenting practices, parental education, economic conditions, and access to health services, while examining the roles of Islamic institutions (mosques, Qur’an learning centers/TPQ, majelis taklim, and Muslimat NU). Using a qualitative instrumental case-study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, FGDs, observations of health and religious activities, and document analysis, and examined using Reflexive Thematic Analysis with a Framework Matrix. Findings show that early marriage is driven by religious norms framed as “protection from zina,” social pressure to formalize relationships, gaps in religious literacy, and strategies involving unregistered marriagedispensation registration. Child nutrition is more strongly shaped by family resilience spiritual motivation, food planning, supportive marital relations, and age-appropriate feeding practices. The direct link between early marriage and stunting weakens after key household factors are controlled. Islamic institutions are effective when religious messages are paired with actionable nutrition guidance. These results reinforce the relevance of ḥifẓ al-nasl and ḥifẓ al-nafs in stunting prevention.   Abstrak Pernikahan dini dan stunting masih menjadi persoalan utama di Kecamatan Sirampog, Brebes, wilayah pegunungan dengan pekerjaan tani yang panjang dan akses layanan terbatas, terutama di dusun lereng. Meskipun telah tersedia Perpres 72/2021, program Jo Kawin Bocah, bimbingan perkawinan KUA, serta layanan posyandu, pesan kebijakan tentang pendewasaan usia kawin belum cukup terhubung dengan praktik gizi 1.000 HPK. Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) mengidentifikasi determinan sosial-keagamaan pernikahan dini; (2) menilai pengaruh ketahanan keluarga (spiritual, ekonomi, relasional, dan pengasuhan) terhadap status gizi anak; dan (3) menganalisis keterkaitan pernikahan dini dan stunting setelah mempertimbangkan pengasuhan, pendidikan orang tua, ekonomi, dan akses kesehatan, serta menilai peran institusi Islam (masjid, TPQ, majelis taklim, Muslimat NU) dalam pencegahan. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam, FGD, observasi layanan, dan studi dokumen, dianalisis melalui Reflexive Thematic Analysis dan matriks Framework. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pernikahan dini dipengaruhi oleh norma religius sebagai “pagar zina”, tekanan sosial, rendahnya literasi keagamaan, dan pola nikah siri–dispensasi–pencatatan. Status gizi anak lebih ditentukan oleh ketahanan keluarga melalui motivasi spiritual, pengaturan makanan anak, relasi suami-istri yang suportif, dan keterampilan pemberian MP-ASI. Hubungan langsung pernikahan dini dengan stunting melemah setelah faktor pengasuhan, pendidikan, ekonomi, dan akses layanan dikendalikan. Institusi Islam terbukti efektif ketika pesan keagamaan dipadukan dengan panduan gizi yang aplikatif. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pencegahan pernikahan dini dan stunting merupakan amanah syariah dalam kerangka ḥifẓ al-nasl dan ḥifẓ al-nafs.).

Abstract

East Java with 41.8 million people is the province that sends the highest number of migrant workers, especially from Malang, Bojonegoro, Lamongan, Kediri, and Ponorogo. Although female migrant workers contribute IDR 251.1 trillion in remittances (2024), they still face various social and spiritual problems. This study aims to analyze the welfare of female migrant workers from the perspective of Maqashid Syariah by reviewing the fulfillment of the five main dimensions of Hifdz ad-Din, Hifdz an-Nafs, Hifdz al-'Aql, Hifdz an-Nasab, and Hifdz al-Maal. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a comparative approach to understand the dynamics of the welfare of female migrant workers in four purposively selected districts, namely Ponorogo, Kediri, and Malang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews (including video calls for overseas informants), participatory observation, and documentation analysis. Data sources include migrant and ex-migrant workers, employees of the Manpower Office, lecturers, university LPPM teams, and written documents as secondary data. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana which includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification at two levels of single case analysis and cross-case analysis. The results of the study show that the welfare of female migrant workers is only fulfilled in two aspects, namely Hifdz al-Maal (maintenance of property) and Hifdz al-'Aql (maintenance of reason). The other three aspects of Hifdz an-Nafs, Hifdz an-Nasab, and Hifdz ad-Din have not been fulfilled optimally and require serious attention through policies that are gender justice and based on maqashid values. The novelty of this research lies in the comprehensive analysis of the portrait of the welfare of female migrant workers using the concept of Maqashid Syariah Ash-Syatibi, which not only emphasizes economic aspects, but also the dimensions of education, family, security, and religious compliance. Abstrak Jawa Timur dengan 41,8 juta penduduk menjadi provinsi pengirim pekerja migran tertinggi, terutama dari Malang, Bojonegoro, Lamongan, Kediri, dan Ponorogo. Meski PMI perempuan menyumbang remitansi Rp251,1 triliun (2024), mereka masih menghadapi berbagai persoalan sosial dan spiritual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesejahteraan pekerja migran perempuan dari perspektif Maqashid Syariah dengan meninjau keterpenuhan lima dimensi utama Hifdz ad-Din, Hifdz an-Nafs, Hifdz al-‘Aql, Hifdz an-Nasab, dan Hifdz al-Maal. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif untuk memahami dinamika kesejahteraan pekerja migran perempuan di empat kabupaten yang dipilih secara purposif, yaitu Ponorogo, Kediri, dan Malang. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam (termasuk panggilan video bagi informan di luar negeri), observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumentasi. Sumber data mencakup pekerja migran dan eks migran, pegawai Dinas Tenaga Kerja, dosen, tim LPPM perguruan tinggi, serta dokumen tertulis sebagai data sekunder. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana yang meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan pada dua tingkat analisis kasus tunggal dan lintas kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesejahteraan pekerja migran perempuan baru terpenuhi pada dua aspek, yaitu Hifdz al-Maal (pemeliharaan harta) dan Hifdz al-‘Aql (pemeliharaan akal). Adapun tiga aspek lainnya Hifdz an-Nafs, Hifdz an-Nasab, dan Hifdz ad-Din belum terpenuhi secara optimal dan memerlukan perhatian serius melalui kebijakan yang berkeadilan gender dan berbasis nilai maqashid. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada analisis komprehensif potret kesejahteraan pekerja migran perempuan dengan menggunakan konsep Maqashid Syariah Asy-Syatibi, yang tidak hanya menekankan aspek ekonomi, tetapi juga dimensi pendidikan, keluarga, keamanan, dan kepatuhan beragama.

Abstract

This study explores the family resilience of Indonesian migrant worker (PMI) households in the Mataraman region of East Java through the integration of Froma Walsh’s family resilience theory and Jamāl al-Dīn ʿAṭiyyah’s maqāṣid al-usrah framework. Labor migration has restructured families, often placing women as temporary heads of households, thereby reshaping gender roles and spiritual responsibilities. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach, the research draws on 24 in-depth interviews and group observations with PMI families. Findings identify three dominant resilience patterns: (1) collaborative, characterized by faith-based role negotiation grounded in amanah and shūrā; (2) externally supported, sustained through religious and kinship networks such as pengajian and yasinan; and (3) independent, emphasizing spiritual discipline and digital intimacy as acts of worship. Values of tawakkul (trust in God), sabr (patience), and ikhtiar (effort) form the belief system that anchors emotional and moral endurance. Integrating Walsh’s framework with maqāṣid al-usrah reveals an Islamic model of resilience that unites psychological adaptability, social solidarity, and theological intentionality. Thus, family resilience in Mataraman represents not merely coping behavior but a conscious act of faith and the realization of maqāṣid within transnational Muslim family life.   Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji ketahanan keluarga pekerja migran Indonesia (PMI) di wilayah Mataraman, Jawa Timur—meliputi Kediri, Tulungagung, Nganjuk, Ponorogo, Blitar, dan Trenggalek—dalam perspektif teori family resilience Froma Walsh dan konsep maqāṣid al-usrah Jamāl al-Dīn ʿAṭiyyah. Migrasi tenaga kerja menyebabkan perubahan struktur keluarga dan peran gender, di mana perempuan sering menjadi kepala keluarga sementara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif melalui 24 wawancara mendalam dan observasi kelompok keluarga PMI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga model utama ketahanan keluarga: (1) kolaboratif, dengan pembagian peran fleksibel berbasis amanah dan shūrā; (2) berbasis dukungan eksternal, melalui jaringan sosial dan kegiatan keagamaan seperti pengajian dan yasinan; serta (3) mandiri, yang menonjolkan disiplin spiritual dan komunikasi digital bernilai ibadah. Nilai-nilai tawakkul, sabr, dan ikhtiar menjadi sistem keyakinan utama yang menopang stabilitas emosional dan spiritual keluarga. Integrasi teori Walsh dan maqāṣid al-usrah menghasilkan model ketahanan keluarga Islam yang memadukan adaptasi psikologis, solidaritas sosial, dan kesadaran teologis. Dengan demikian, ketahanan keluarga dalam konteks Mataraman bukan sekadar kemampuan bertahan, tetapi wujud ibadah dan realisasi maqāṣid dalam kehidupan keluarga Muslim transnasional.
