Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the potential that Ngada Regency has as a Muslim minority area in developing halal tourism, as well as the efforts that must be made to support this potential so that it can be applied. Research Methodology: The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Primary data sources were obtained through interviews with fourteen respondents, including; the Indonesian Ulema Council of Ngada Regency, the Ministry of Islamic Religion of Ngada Regency, the Ngada Regency Tourism Office, Islamic religious leaders, and local Muslim tourists. Results: The results of this study show that Ngada Regency has the opportunity to implement halal tourism, judging from the tourism potential it has, including; marine parks of 17 islands, beaches, mountains, hills, waterfalls, craters, hot springs, and traditional villages. The available tourist attractions are the main attractions and characteristics that distinguish Ngada Regency from other districts in East Nusa Tenggara. Then, judging from the enthusiasm of local Muslim tourists visiting tourist destinations, Ngada Regency has the opportunity to implement halal tourism. However, the facilities and infrastructure available in tourist destinations and lodging places must follow halal tourism principles. Limitations: This study has limited data coverage in an Eastern Indonesia region that has a Muslim minority demographic. Contributions: The study is the first to examine the potential of halal tourism in eastern Indonesia with the condition of the Muslim minority population. Novelty: This study makes a valuable contribution to the study of the development of halal tourism in eastern Indonesia, which has a Muslim minority demographic.

Abstract

The swimming pool is a part of tourism, entertainment, and sports activities. The development of halal tourism demands swimming pool facilities that can better meet Sharia principles that benefit Muslim consumers. This study aims to reveal Sharia swimming pool management practices and explore why its customers choose Sharia swimming pools over conventional swimming pools. This research was conducted to reveal the halal lifestyle that has penetrated halal tourism, including swimming pools based on Sharia principles. This study uses a phenomenological approach to reveal the phenomenon of swimming pool practices and factors that affect its customers. This study interviewed 15 people with characteristics of high-intensity Sharia swimming pool use. It revealed that Islamic pool management practices include rules for members to enter, swimwear, facilities, and services provided. This study explores the factors influencing Islamic pool consumers by grouping them internally and externally. Internal factors impacting Sharia swimming pool users include comfort, halal lifestyle, and health. At the same time, the support of facilities, encouragement from others, and unpleasant experiences in public or traditional swimming pools are part of external factors. This study is expected to become a reference for Sharia swimming pool management practices and evidence of the findings of factors that encourage consumers to choose Sharia swimming pools.

Abstract

Abstract

The level of digital financial literacy in Indonesia remains below the average of other ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. This community service program aims to enhance digital financial literacy among members of BMT Center Kube Karanganyar through training on the use of a personal finance application, FINKU. As a leading cooperative in Karanganyar, BMT Center Kube has consistently provided training and empowerment programs for its members. However, many members still do not manage their personal finances routinely or effectively. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, involving not only the delivery of financial literacy materials but also hands-on practice and discussion sessions on the use of the FINKU application. This application helps users record income and expenses, set budgets, and monitor financial goals through integration with banking and e-wallet platforms. The results of the program indicate an improvement in participants' understanding and practical skills in financial management. Participants began to adopt better financial behavior, including regular financial tracking and more conscious budgeting. Furthermore, enhanced personal financial management among members is expected to contribute to a reduction in the cooperative’s non-performing financing (NPF) rate, which in turn can strengthen the financial performance of BMT and increase beneficial for its members.

Abstract

Campaigns to boycott products related to Israel or support them are on the rise in the countries of the Global South as a political consumption behavior that combines moral solidarity and symbolic pressure on companies. However, the power of the campaign in the public sphere does not necessarily mean the power of the impact in the market or in the political-economic structures that support the conflict. This article aims to provide a multi-dimensional critical analysis of symbolic awareness gaps and structural impacts based on the current literature (2021–2025) on boycotts, political consumption, and digital activism, by reinforcing the theoretical framework with quantitative and qualitative evidence from studies in East Asia (Indonesia and Malaysia). This article uses a composite approach that includes: (1) a selective methodological review of recent research in accordance with defined transparency standards, (2) an interpretive model that combines Planned Behavior Theory (SDP), Social Identity Theory (SIT), and a political economy approach to global value chains (GVCs), (3) comparative analysis supported by field evidence on the role of religiosity, perceived efficiency, and and local alternatives in converting intentions into actual behaviors. The article concludes that to reduce the gap, boycotts must be transformed from moral indicators to market governance tools based on supply chain transparency, support programs for local alternatives, and ESG accountability mechanisms.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the role of sharia maqashid in regulating financial transactions and achieving economic justice, through an analysis of the basics of maqashid that are the foundation of the Islamic financial system, as well as explaining their impact on the protection of rights, achieving a balance between individual interests and public interests, and reducing the practice of injustice and economic exploitation. This study uses an analytical descriptive method, with the application of an inductive approach to trace sharia texts and the opinions of scholars, as well as a comparative approach to highlight the differences between maqashid's view of Islamic economics and some conventional economic views. This study concludes that sharia maqashid, especially in safeguarding wealth, realizing justice, and eliminating difficulties, is a comprehensive ethical and legislative framework that contributes to the development of a fair and sustainable financial system, as well as being able to face contemporary economic challenges. The authenticity of this research lies in the relationship between maqashid theory and the practical application of modern financial transactions, which strengthen economic justice and inclusive development.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the extent of the suitability of the Indonesian government's policy in managing hajj funds based on Law Number 34 of 2014 according to the principles of sharia economics and sharia maqashid, especially the principle of maintenance and achievement of the benefits of the ummah. Methodology: This study uses a legal-normative approach with a descriptive qualitative analysis method. Data was obtained through a study of laws and regulations related to the management of hajj funds, DSN-MUI fatwas, scientific literature, as well as financial and performance reports of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) for the period 2024 2025. The analysis was carried out by integrating a positive sharia perspective and sharia maqashid. Results: The results of the study show that Law Number 34 of 2014 provides a strong legal basis for the management of hajj funds based on sharia principles, accountability, and transparency. However, in practice, there is still a gap between formal compliance with sharia and the achievement of substantive goals of sharia maqashid, particularly in the aspects of public transparency, increased economic benefits, and equitable distribution of the social impact of hajj investments. Application/Authenticity/Value: This research makes a conceptual contribution by combining positive legal analysis and "maqashid sharia" in the context of public financial management of the ummah. It is hoped that the results of this research will be the basis for the formulation of policies that are more benefit-oriented, increase public trust, and strengthen sustainable governance for hajj funds.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the various forms and types of contracts used in Islamic fintech services in Indonesia, and to analyze and assess the level of conformity of contracts and digital transactions in Islamic fintech with the principles of muamalah law according to Islamic teachings. The study used a qualitative literature study method with a normative-theological approach. Data sources were secondary sources collected using library research techniques. Data were considered valid if they met the criteria of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results show that Islamic fintech in Indonesia has implemented various Islamic contracts, such as sale and purchase, musyarakah, mudharabah, wakalah bil ujrah, and qardh, which are used according to service characteristics and user needs. In general, the digital transaction mechanisms in Islamic fintech are in line with the principles of muamalah law because they are supported by clear contracts, system transparency, and regulatory oversight that ensures the avoidance of usury, gharar, and other prohibited practices.
