Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an impact of unemployment, management of zakat funds, and economic growth on poverty. With data sources from the Central Statistics Agency and BAZNAS from 2015-2020, the study used Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression analysis to test the effect of independent variables on dependent variables. The results of this study show that zakat has a significant negative influence on poverty rates. Unemployment in this study shows its considerable effect on poverty. Meanwhile, economic growth has no significant impact on the poverty rate. The findings recommend that the government evaluate economic growth that the poor still need to enjoy fully. This research is also expected to pave the way for the community to know the role of zakat and economic growth in helping fellow human beings and also helping the country. The government can also contribute to increasing community socialisation about the impact of zakat on the country.

Abstract

This study aims to design a conceptualization of the waqf program crowdfunding system implemented by an online donation platform and strategies for increasing waqf digitization. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through in-depth interviews with application managers, waqf institutions’ leaders, donors, and documentation. The results of this study show that the crowdfunding system runs through the stages of the waqf program proposal, verification of publications and socialization of the waqf program. The donation platform’s strategy in increasing the digitization of waqf includes providing access to waqf institutions for program approvals, notification of sustainable programs, additional features of Islamic studies on the application, digital publications of creative waqf programs, surveys of digital waqf program locations, creation of digital content and videos of waqf activities. In addition, other strategies include solicitations and response and input spaces on the application. The crowdfunding system implemented by the Amalsholeh platform can help waqf institutions find donors and increase community interest in online waqf or digitalization of waqf. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the conceptual and practical implications of Progressive Islamic Jurisprudence (Risalah Islam Berkemajuan) within the legal thought school of Muhammadiyah. To bridge the difference between Muhammadiyah's legal thought and practice, the study adopts an ontological perspective. The research utilises a detailed analysis of the ontological notion of Progressive Islamic Law, examining its relationship with natural law and positivist perspectives. The study discovered that this legal ontology incorporates religious values, justice, and social change. The key contribution of the investigation is to develop principles of Progressive Islamic Law that can direct the advancement of Muhammadiyah's legal curriculum and practice. Although the research establishes a sound theoretical foundation, practical constraints in implementing the ontology may arise. The implications for the legal thinking of Muhammadiyah are to establish a foundation that is responsive and adaptable to essential legal ontological concepts. Such concepts must be reinforced by means of dissemination in law education at Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) in order to tackle contemporary challenges with relevant legal principles

Abstract

This study analyzes factors affecting BRI Syariah Bank's profitability in Indonesia. This study sampled BRI Syariah Bank's 2013-2020 yearly financial statements that fit the study's requirements. Data for Bopo, Nim, Inflation, and Roa come from the official BRI Syariah bank and Bank Indonesia (BI) websites for 2013 – 2020. This study uses the ROA ratio as a metric of BRI Syariah Bank's profitability and BOPO, NIM, and Inflation as independent variables. This study uses the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) data analysis method to obtain a thorough picture of the relationship between variables using Eviews10 software. According to study, BOPO negatively affects ROA (Return on Assets). Operating Costs and Operating Income (BOPO) are less significant than required. The study shows that BOPO has a detrimental impact on ROA (Return on Assets). NIM and inflation study results had little impact on BRI Syariah Bank's ROA. This study reveals that Islamic banks are resilient to inflation and don't rely on profit margins. This study suggests Islamic banks reduce operating costs to boost profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the application of Islamic business ethics in employee layoffs during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method uses qualitative research methods. The data source is from the agenda of direct and indirect interviews with speakers selected by 10 participants: five entrepreneurs and five victims of layoffs. The finding shows that some business actors in Sukoharjo still need to understand the importance of instilling Islamic business ethics. This situation is proved by the discovery of ethical violations in doing business carried out by entrepreneurs, namely attaching importance to their business in the form of suddenly dismissing their employees, not giving severance pay to employees, being late in providing salaries, not being able to develop the business properly, and not instilling honesty. The violations committed by layoff victims are providing poor service, lack of expertise, and being undisciplined. This research should help future studies apply Islamic business ethics to layoffs. Islamic business principles protect entrepreneurs and layoff victims, allowing them to continue business during the pandemic and grow.
