Abstract

In the digital age, socialization processes and identity formation have become increasingly intertwined with digital platforms and technologies. The digital environment presents new opportunities and challenges in the development of self-concept and social interactions, which have significant implications for various developmental stages. However, there is limited research exploring how digital spaces influence identity formation, especially from a developmental perspective. This study aims to investigate how digital socialization processes impact identity formation across different age groups and developmental stages, focusing on the interaction between online and offline environments. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with individuals from diverse age groups. The survey explored the frequency and nature of digital interactions, while the interviews provided in-depth insights into personal experiences with identity formation in digital spaces. The findings reveal that digital platforms significantly influence self-concept and identity development, with younger individuals more likely to engage in self-exploration through digital spaces. Digital socialization plays a critical role in identity formation, particularly in adolescence and early adulthood. Future research should focus on how digital interactions shape identity development over time and across different cultural contexts.

Abstract

In today’s increasingly interconnected and diverse world, the ability to build positive relationships is essential for both personal and professional success. Empathy and compassion are two core interpersonal skills that contribute to stronger connections and greater well-being. These qualities not only enhance relationships but also promote personal growth by fostering understanding, emotional resilience, and a sense of shared humanity. However, the specific role of empathy and compassion in personal development remains underexplored. This study aims to examine the role of empathy and compassion in building positive relationships and promoting personal growth. The research investigates how these two traits influence emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and interpersonal communication in diverse contexts. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data were collected from 250 participants across various age groups and professions. The findings revealed that higher levels of empathy and compassion were associated with improved interpersonal relationships and greater personal growth. Participants who reported stronger empathy and compassion exhibited better emotional regulation, higher self-awareness, and more positive social interactions. This study concludes that empathy and compassion are integral to building positive relationships and fostering personal growth.

Abstract

Advances in quantum sensing technologies have opened new opportunities for noninvasive, high-resolution detection of neural activity, particularly through diamond-based quantum sensors utilizing nitrogen–vacancy (NV) centers. Conventional neuroimaging techniques often face limitations in spatial resolution, temporal precision, and sensitivity to weak magnetic fields generated by neuronal currents. These constraints motivate the development of quantum-enhanced sensing approaches capable of capturing neural dynamics with unprecedented fidelity. This study aims to evaluate the performance of diamond-based quantum sensors for high-resolution magnetic field imaging and to assess their potential for real-time neural activity monitoring. A combined experimental and simulation-based methodology was employed, involving controlled magnetic field measurements using NV-center ensembles, calibration against established magnetometry systems, and computational modeling of neuronal magnetic signatures. The results show that NV-based sensors achieve sub-micron spatial resolution and detect magnetic fields in the nanotesla range, significantly outperforming traditional optical and electromagnetic techniques. The findings further demonstrate strong temporal responsiveness, enabling the reconstruction of fast neuronal firing patterns. The study concludes that diamond-based quantum sensors represent a promising frontier for next-generation neuroimaging, offering a scalable, minimally invasive platform for studying neural circuits with high spatial–temporal precision.

Abstract

The Indonesian tourism sector plays a significant role in the national economy, with small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) forming a crucial part of the industry. However, the sector faces several challenges, including market volatility, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for digital transformation. Innovative business models are essential for MSMEs to remain competitive and sustainable in this dynamic environment. This study aims to explore the development of innovative business models for MSMEs in the Indonesian tourism sector, focusing on the factors that drive innovation and the strategies that enable MSMEs to adapt to changing market conditions. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with MSME owners and quantitative surveys to gather insights into the factors influencing innovation. The findings reveal that digitalization, community-based tourism, and sustainable practices are key drivers of innovation among MSMEs in the sector. However, challenges such as limited access to capital, lack of technical expertise, and inadequate government support hinder the widespread adoption of these innovative models. The study concludes that developing tailored support systems, promoting digital literacy, and encouraging collaboration between MSMEs and local governments are essential to fostering innovation in the tourism sector. These findings contribute to the academic literature on innovation in emerging markets and provide practical recommendations for policymakers and MSMEs.

Abstract

Multicultural experiences have increasingly been recognized as a catalyst for creativity by expanding cognitive flexibility, perspective-taking, and integrative thinking. However, empirical findings on the strength and consistency of this relationship remain fragmented across studies. This research aims to synthesize existing evidence through a meta-analysis examining the link between multicultural exposure and creative performance. A total of 68 peer-reviewed studies (N = 12,457 participants) were systematically selected from major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, and PsycINFO. Effect sizes were computed using a random-effects model to account for cross-study heterogeneity. Moderator analyses explored contextual factors such as type of multicultural experience (living abroad, cross-cultural training, or diversity interaction), creativity domain (divergent thinking, creative problem-solving, and innovation), and cultural distance. The meta-analytic results revealed a moderate positive effect size (r = 0.34, p < 0.001), indicating that individuals with higher levels of multicultural exposure consistently demonstrate enhanced creative performance. Living abroad showed the strongest effect among all experience types, particularly in tasks involving divergent and integrative thinking. The findings confirm that multicultural engagement fosters creativity by broadening cognitive schemas and enhancing openness to novelty.

Abstract

Adolescence represents a critical developmental stage during which individuals actively construct personal and social identities through interactions with their surrounding environments. Rapid growth in social media usage has transformed the contexts in which identity formation occurs, creating new opportunities for self-expression, social connection, identity exploration, and community participation. Digital platforms increasingly function as influential social spaces that shape adolescents’ perceptions of themselves and others. This study aims to examine the role of social media in shaping adolescent identity from a social-psychological perspective by exploring the relationships among social media engagement, identity exploration, online self-presentation, social validation, and self-concept development. A mixed-methods research design employing a sequential explanatory approach was utilized. Quantitative data were collected from 500 adolescents through validated measures of social media engagement, identity development, self-concept clarity, and psychological well-being. Qualitative interviews were conducted to explore participants’ experiences of identity construction within digital environments. Structural Equation Modeling and thematic analysis were employed to analyze the data. Findings revealed that social media engagement significantly influenced identity exploration, online self-presentation, perceived social validation, and self-concept clarity. Identity exploration emerged as a key mediating factor linking digital participation to identity development. The study concludes that social media serves as a powerful social-psychological context for adolescent identity formation, with developmental outcomes shaped by the quality of online interactions, patterns of engagement, and the nature of social feedback received within digital communities.

Abstract

Rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education has transformed teaching, learning, assessment, and academic administration by enabling personalized instruction, intelligent feedback, and data-driven decision-making. Expanding implementation of AI-powered educational systems has simultaneously intensified concerns regarding transparency, fairness, privacy, accountability, and educator responsibility, making trust a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable educational innovation. This study aimed to examine the determinants of trust in AI-powered education systems by investigating the relationships among ethical governance, algorithmic transparency, educator responsibility, institutional accountability, and learner perceptions. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed, integrating quantitative data collected from 520 participants through validated questionnaires and Structural Equation Modeling with qualitative evidence obtained from interviews, classroom observations, reflective journals, and institutional policy documents. Results demonstrated that algorithmic transparency, educator ethical competence, institutional accountability, and privacy protection significantly strengthened trust in AI-supported education, while educator responsibility partially mediated the relationship between ethical governance and learner trust. Qualitative findings further revealed that transparent communication, professional judgment, and continuous human oversight enhanced acceptance of AI-assisted instructional practices. Findings indicate that trust emerges through the interaction of technological reliability, ethical governance, and pedagogical professionalism rather than technological capability alone. Human-centered implementation supported by transparent institutional policies provides a sustainable foundation for responsible Artificial Intelligence adoption across contemporary educational ecosystems.

Abstract

Japan's urban agricultural revolution with vertical culture technology emerged as a solution to overcome the limitations of agricultural land due to rapid urbanization. Vertical culture technology allows the cultivation of plants in urban environments by utilizing vertical spaces, thereby increasing food security and reducing environmental impact. This study aims to analyze the development and impact of the application of verticulture technology in major Japanese cities, as well as identify the factors that support its success. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and secondary data analysis from government reports and scientific publications. The results show that the number of vertical culture installations in Japan has increased significantly in the last five years, supported by government policies and local community initiatives. In addition to increasing food production in urban areas, this technology also helps create green spaces and improve environmental quality in densely populated areas. The conclusion of this study is that verticulture can be a sustainable solution for urban food security, but further research is needed to evaluate the long-term impact on the environment and energy efficiency.

Abstract

Prostate cancer is a leading malignancy in men, where early detection is critical for effective treatment. Current diagnostic methods, such as PSA tests, have limitations in sensitivity and specificity. To develop an aptamer-based electrochemical biosensor for the early detection of prostate cancer markers, aiming to improve diagnostic accuracy and speed. The study involved the design and optimization of aptamers through SELEX, integration with electrochemical sensors, and validation using prostate cancer cell lines and clinical samples. Instruments used include electrochemical workstations, HPLC, and mass spectrometry for characterization and evaluation. The developed biosensor demonstrated a detection limit of 0.1 ng/mL for PSA, with a response time of less than 10 minutes. High reproducibility was achieved with a coefficient of variation below 5%, and the biosensor showed significant specificity and stability in detecting PSA in various samples. The aptamer-based electrochemical biosensor offers a promising tool for the early detection of prostate cancer markers, providing higher sensitivity and specificity compared to traditional methods. Further clinical validation is necessary to confirm its efficacy and reliability in broader applications.

Abstract

Zika virus is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that causes severe birth defects in newborns. Effective preventive measures are urgently needed due to the global spread of the virus. To develop a nanoparticle-based vaccine to prevent Zika virus infection by enhancing immune responses and ensuring safety. A multidisciplinary approach combining virology, immunology, and nanotechnology was used. Laboratory animals and human volunteers were included in the study. The nanoparticle vaccine was characterized using DLS and electron microscopy, and its immunogenicity was tested using ELISA and flow cytometry. Preclinical and clinical trials were conducted to assess the vaccine's efficacy and safety. The nanoparticle vaccine induced strong and long-lasting immune responses, reducing Zika virus infection rates by 85% in mice and 80% in non-human primates. The vaccine showed high titers of neutralizing antibodies and significant cellular immune responses without adverse effects. The nanoparticle vaccine demonstrated high efficacy and safety in preventing Zika virus infection, providing a promising new approach to vaccine development. Further clinical trials are needed to validate these findings and optimize vaccine production for widespread use.
