Abstract

Ekosistem mangrove merupakan suatu ekosistem perairan unik yang berperan penting dalam mendukung kehidupan akuatik, sebagai sumber makanan, tempat pembesaran dan tempat pemijahan bagi berbagai organisme. Pertumbuhan mangrove tidak luput dari faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Salah satu parameter yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan kerapatan mangrove adalah substrat dan air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi nilai karakteristik fisika kimia substrat dan air terhadap kerapatan mangrove pada area restorasi mangrove untuk silvofishery di Langsa Barat, Kota Langsa. Penelitian yang dilakukan pada Bulan Oktober – November 2023 di area restorasi mangrove Gampong Seuriget, Langsa Barat, Kota Langsa, Aceh. Metode yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling dengan 3 stasiun berdasarkan perbedaan umur tanam. Data mangrove dikumpulkan dengan metode transek 1x1, 5x5 dan 10x10. Pengambilan sampel sedimen menggunakan sekop dan sampel air menggunakan botol kaca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerapatan mangrove termasuk pada kategori jarang dan padat. Nilai kerapatan mangrove tertinggi pada stasiun A ditemukan nilai sebesar 2.333 (ind./ha) dan kerapatan mangrove terendah pada stasiun B dengan nilai 500 (ind./ha). Tekstur tanah termasuk jenis lempung berpasir. Kualitas air memiliki rata-rata kisaran suhu 29-30 0C, nilai pH air 7,3 –7,7, salinitas pada kisaran 29,1-30,2 0/00, DO 4,48-5,2 mg/L, kandungan amonia 0,4-0,9 ppm, nitrat 3,4-6,5 ppm, fosfat 1,3-4,3 ppm.  Kualitas sedimen menunjukkan hasil pH tanah 6,3-6,4, unsur hara tanah C-Organik 1,5-3,0 %, N-total 0,2 %, dan P-tersedia 17,0-18,1 ppm. Hasil uji analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada korelasi antara karakteristik fisika kimia substrat dengan air dan nilai karakteristik substrat dengan kerapatan mangrove yang ada. Sedangkan fisika kimia air seperti pH air, salinitas, dan fosfat berkorelasi dengan kerapatan mangrove yang ada. Berdasarkan hasil analisis parameter kualitas air dan sedimen, ketiga stasiun penelitian dapat digunakan sebagai silvofishery.

Abstract

The Mangrove Crab (Scylla Serrata) is one of the economically important fishery commodities that has delicious meat and high nutritional content. This study aims to obtain the best type of natural feed and analyze the effect of feeding various types of natural feed on the growth of mangrove crabs (Scylla Serrata) in traditional ponds. This study employed an experimental design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, comprising 12 units. The natural feed treatments were P1 (Rucah Fish), P2 (Chicken Intestines), P3 (Keongmas), and P4 (Rajungan), each at 5% of the diet. The study was analyzed using ANOVA with Excel and Duncan's multiple range test with SPSS. The study was conducted over 40 days in traditional ponds in Desa Lingkungan 3 Kampung Baru, Kelurahan Pangkalan Batu, Kecamatan Berandan Barat, Kabupaten Langkat. The results showed that the use of various types of natural feed did not have a significant effect (Fhit > Ftab) at a significance level of P > 0.01 on moulting percentage, absolute weight gain, daily specific growth rate, and survival rate (SR), but had a very significant effect (Fhit < Ftab) at the P < 0.01 significance level on the feed conversion ratio (FCR) of mangrove crabs (Scylla Serrata) in traditional ponds

Abstract

Freshwater lobster is one of the lobster commodities that is not widely known by society today. Freshwater lobsters have a high selling value on the market, so information on growth hormones is needed to increase the growth of freshwater lobsters, so that they can meet market demand. Thyroxine hormone is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland which functions to form, store and release substances related to regulating metabolic rate. Therefore, this study aims to see how different soaking times for the thyroxine hormone affect the growth rate of freshwater lobsters and to determine the optimal time for soaking freshwater lobsters using the thyroxine hormone. The research method used in the research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 3 three replications. The treatments carried out were: PHT0 (control), PHT1 (soaking for 12 hours/0.1 mg/L), PHT2 (soaking for 24 hours/0.1 mg/L), PHT3 (soaking for 36 hours/0.1 mg/L). Parameters observed: Absolute Weight Growth, Absolute Length Growth, Daily Growth Rate, Survival Rate (SR), and Water Quality Observations. The results of the research showed that the best soaking time for the thyroxine hormone on the growth of freshwater lobsters (Cherax quadricarinatus) was in PHT2 (24 hours), and the lowest was in PHT0 (control) treatment.

Abstract

Cacing sutra merupakan salah satu jenis pakan alami yang disukai larva ikan karena mengandung nutrisi yang bagus untuk pertumbuhan ikan. Cacing ini banyak ditemukan diperairan sungai yang dangkal dengan aliran air yang kecil dan untuk menjaga ketersediaan cacing sutra sebagai pakan alami larva ikan, maka harus dilakukan kultur dengan penambahan nutrisi sebagai makanannya. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 pengulangan selama 30 hari. Perlakuan yang digunakan : P0 tanpa pupuk kotoran sapi, P1 ( 500 g) pupuk kotoran sapi/wadah, P2 (600 g) pupuk kotoran sapi/wadah, dan P3(700 g) pupuk kotoran sapi/wadah. Hasil penelitian dengan perlakuan pemberian pupuk kotoran sapi yang berbeda berpengaruh sangat significant (P<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan bobot biomassa, LPH dan Populasi cacing sutera. Biomassa tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan P3 (700 g pupuk kotoran sapi) sebanyak 34 g, LPH tertinggi pada P3 (4,93 %) dan populasi tertinggi pada P3 (218, 422 ind). Sedangkan untuk rata-rata panjang tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,5) terdapat pada P3 (1,00 cm). Hasil pengamatan kualitas air menunjukkan suhu (28,73-29,22 0C), DO (4,52-5,54 mg/l) dan pH (5,49-5,57). Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kotoran sapi yang berbeda dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan cacing sutera.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus) sudah banyak dikembangkan dan memiliki teknologi baik secara alami maupun secara buatan. Namun terdapat kesulitan yang sering dihadapi dalam pemijahan buatan yaitu rendahnya daya tetas telur, sehingga produksi larva rendah (Horvath et al., 2002). Menurut Saputra (2012) rendahnya daya tetas telur ikan lele disebabkan kerana adanya daya rekat pada telur sehingga terjadi penumpukan telur. Penumpukan telur menyebabkan terhalangnya oksigen masuk pada telur yang berdampak pada perkembangan telur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh perasan kulit nanas terhadap daya tetas telur ikan lele dumbo. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah RAL dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah dosis perasan kulit nenas yang berbeda, yaitu 0 ml, 3 ml, 5 ml dan 7 ml per 250 ml air. Parameter yang diamati meliputi derajat penetasan telur, kelangsungan hidup larva dan kualitas air. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dosis perasan kulit nenas berpangaruh terhadap derajat penetasan telur ikan lele dumbo, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap kelangsungan hidup larva. Perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada dosis pemberian 3 ml/250 ml air dengan hasil penetasan 63.33%.

Abstract

Suhu faktor lingkungan yang dapat mempengaruhi kematian ikan bass pada fase embrio, karena embrio paling rentan terhadap perubahan stres karena embrio masih sensitif. Tujuannya adalah untuk melihat suhu yang optimal dan apakah perbedaan suhu dapat menyebabkan perubahan yang signifikan pada perkembangan embrio, kecepatan tetas, kecepatan tetas dan kelainan pada larva ikan bass. Metode yang digunakan adalah RAL dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yaitu S1 = 26 oC, S2 = 28 oC, S3 = 30 oC, dan S4 = 32 oC. Uji LSD 95% menunjukkan perkembangan embrio pada S4 (32 oC ) .C) menunjukkan tercepat di semua tahap perkembangan embrio, penetrasi tercepat ada di S4 (32 oC) selama 656,6 menit, penetrasi tertinggi pada S2 (28 oC) sebesar 95.258%, kelainan permanen terendah pada S1 (26 o C) sebesar 0%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan suhu media inkubasi memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap perkembangan embrio, kecepatan tetas, dan kelainan larva bass laut ( Lates calcarifer ).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of different doses of vitamin E on the maturation of freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus). The method used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were P1 (control), P2 (vitamin E 150 mg/kg feed), P3 (vitamin E 300 mg/kg feed), and P4 (vitamin E 450 mg/kg feed). Parameters observed in this study were Gonad Maturity Index (GIC), fecundity, and egg diameter. The results of Duncan's analysis showed that the increasing vitamin E to feed was significantly different (P<0.05) with treatment without increasing vitamin E to LAT maturation such as gonadal maturity index, fecundity, and egg diameter. However, administering different doses of vitamin E (150 mg/kg of feed, 300 mg/kg of feed, and 450 mg/kg of feed) had no significant effect on LAT maturation. The treatment without the increasing vitamin E did not show maturity, which was indicated by the value of all parameters 0, while the treatment with the increasing vitamin E to the feed resulted in a range of IKG values, fecundity, and egg diameter respectively was 8.28 - 9.84%, 230.66 - 30.66 eggs and 0.46 - 0.48 mm. The best treatment in this study was treatment with a dose of vitamin E 450 mg/kg feed because it had the highest reproductive performance and could accelerate gonadal maturity in LAT.Keywords: Egg Diameter; Fecundity; Freshwater Lobster; Maturation; Vitamin E

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of different photoperiods on maturity and the effect of different light durations on survival and growth of gourami (Ospronemus gouramy) fry. The study was conducted on August 22th - September 22th in the Green House Samudra University.Test fish used is seed of gouramy measuring 5-6 cm. The methods used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were P1 (4 hours light, 20 hours dark), P2 (8 hours light, 16 hours dark), P3 (12 jam hours light, 12 hours dark), and P4 (16 hours light, 18 hours dark). Seeds of fish was put in a containing 20 liters of water volume with a stocking density of 10 tails each container. The frequency of feeding is done 4 times a day at 06.00 am, 12.00 am, 18 pm and 24.00 pm. The results showed that different natural feeding teratments had a significant effect on the absolute weight, absolute length growth, daily growth rate, survival, FCR, and water quality. The best treatment in this study was P1 treatment (4 hours light, 20 hours dark) because it had a high value compared to other treatments.Keywords: Gouramy; Growth; Photoperiod; Survival; Weight

Abstract

The male Betta fish is said to be special because it has a unique body shape and beautiful colours, so it is very popular among people who love ornamental fish. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of giving goat testicle flour on sex reversal in betta fish. The research design carried out was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). consisting of 4 treatments with 3 repetitions. During the 60-day rearing period, silkworms and artemia were given food. The results of the study showed that the effect on goat testicles had a significant effect on the male sex ratio and survival of betta fish, with a male sex ratio value of 74.92% and survival of 97.77%. Abstract

Goldfish (Carrassius sp.) is a type of ornamental fish with interesting color variations. Color is one of the reasons ornamental fish are in demand by the public, so farmers need to improve the quality of color in ornamental fish. To increase the brightness of color in goldfish fry, it is necessary to add carotenoids to the feed. The aim of this research was to determine the best dose of astaxanthin to increase color brightness in goldfish (Carassius sp.) fry. The method used in this research was RAL with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, namely P1 (0.00 g/30 ml), P2 (0.20 g/30 ml), P3 (0.30 g/30 ml), P4 ( 0.50 g/30 ml). The parameters observed during the research were the brightness of the fish's color, absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that giving astaxanthin to Daphnia sp. had a significant effect on increasing color brightness, but did not have a significant effect on growth in length, weight and survival rate of goldfish (Carassius sp.) fry
