Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of basic Biology concepts among grade XI MIPA students at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela, particularly on the topic of Plant and Animal Tissues. The background of this research arises from the low level of students’ conceptual understanding in Biology, which often leads them to rely on memorization rather than meaningful comprehension. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through a test consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the highest student score was 52.0, the lowest was 16.0, and the average was 31.2, indicating that students’ understanding of tissue concepts remains low. Factors contributing to this low understanding include limited learning resources that rely solely on textbooks, lack of reading and reviewing activities, the teacher’s teaching methods, and individual differences in students’ abilities to grasp concepts. This study is expected to serve as a reference for Biology teachers in designing more effective learning strategies to enhance students’ conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors influencing students’ motivation in learning English and explain how these factors affect it at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela, Mataram. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected from tenth-grade students through classroom observations, open-ended questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed that a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic factors influences students’ motivation. Intrinsic factors include students’ awareness of the importance of English, personal goals, interest, and self-regulation strategies, which help them stay motivated despite difficulties. Extrinsic factors involve teachers’ roles, teaching methods, family support, peer influence, evaluation systems, and the utilization of media outside the class. Teachers’ interactive and enjoyable teaching styles were found to be the most influential in enhancing students’ enthusiasm, while excessive workload and strict attitudes decreased motivation. The study concludes that the dynamic interaction between internal drives and external support shapes English learning motivation

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the use of digital teaching materials can be a solution to the limitations of package books in learning moral beliefs at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of this study consist of teachers of moral beliefs and several students who are directly involved in the learning process based on digital teaching materials. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results of the study show that the use of digital teaching materials has a positive influence on increasing the effectiveness of learning moral beliefs. Teachers are able to use technology as an auxiliary medium to deliver material in a more interesting, efficient, and interactive manner. Students feel more motivated and understand the material easily because the digital teaching materials are equipped with supportive visual, audio, and video displays. The obstacles faced include limited internet networks, devices, and the level of digital literacy, but they can be overcome through the support of madrasah facilities and training for teachers. Thus, the use of digital teaching materials has proven to be an effective solution in overcoming the limitations of package books, and is able to create learning moral beliefs that are more interesting, meaningful, and in accordance with technological developments, without reducing the Islamic spiritual values contained in it

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the internal and external factors influencing student learning activeness and identify the most dominant factor among students in Class XI MIPA at MA Plus Nurul Islam. Focusing on internal factors (motivation, self-efficacy, and learning readiness), external factors (class environment, teacher support, peers, and facilities), media and teaching methods, and parental and home environment support, the research employs a quantitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were collected via questionnaires (Likert scale) and documentation from respondents.  The results indicate that all factors positively contribute to learning activeness, with media and teaching methods achieving the highest mean score (4.12 or 82.4%), followed by external factors (3.95 or 79.0%), internal factors (3.87 or 77.4%), and parental and home support (3.72 or 74.4%). These findings emphasize the importance of interactive teaching methods and collaborative environments to enhance student engagement. Recommendations include teachers adapting methods for greater interactivity, schools improving facilities, and parents increasing academic involvement to optimize learning outcomes in senior high school physics education
