Abstract

Depression represents a manifestation of prolonged stress, which, if left untreated, may lead to severe mental disorders. For depression treatment therapy, it can be carried out based on evidence-based treatment for depression and anxiety. Aromatherapy candles can be used as a non-pharmacological medium for depression therapy, where keruing has active compounds are phthalic acid di(3-methoxybenzyl) ester and phthalic acid, 5-ethyl-1,3-dioxan-5-yl octyl ester, causing keruing oleoresin to have a distinctive fragrance. This study aims to evaluate the pharmacological potential of keruing as an antidepressant for non-pharmacological therapy. Aromatherapy candles were formulated with keruing oleoresin at concentrations of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%, followed by testing their antidepressant activity using the Conditioned Place Preference (CPP) method. The results of the Paired T-test for groups F0, F2, and F4 or formulas containing 0%, 5%, and 10% of keruing oleoresin have a significant effect (sig. values <0.05) between pre and post-test being given aromatherapy and induction. In the One-way ANOVA test, between their groups, it can be seen there was no significant difference in test activity, namely for the pre-treatment test (sig. 0.445 > 0.05) and for the post-treatment test (sig. 0.065 > 0.05). Results indicated that while the candles met physical quality standards outlined by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), no significant antidepressant effects were observed in mice. Further refinement in methodology, including the concentration of active compounds and delivery methods, is recommended to enhance the pharmacological potential of keruing oleoresin.

Abstract

Indonesia dikenal dengan kekayaan alam yang berlimpah. Seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi dan perubahan pola hidup masyarakat yang cenderung kurang memperhatikan kesehatan, maka berkembangnya berbagai penyakit di masyarakat tidak dapat dihindarkan lagi. Hal ini mendorong masyarakat untuk mencari alternatif pengobatan yang efektif dan efisien. Pengobatan herba adalah ramuan turun temurun dari leluhur agar dipertahankan dan dikembangkan salah satu nya adalah Minyak Atsiri. Minyak atsiri banyak digunakan dalam industri sebagai pemberi aroma dan rasa. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan di KSP Credit Union Daya Lestari Selili Samarinda yang bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan Pelatihan Pembuatan Minyak Atsiri dari Bahan Dapur pada anggota KSP Credit Union Daya Lestari di Bukuan Palaran Samarinda. Edukasi dan Pelatihan diharapkan memberikan pengetahuan pembuatan produk yang praktis dari bahan yang nudah diperoleh serta menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha pada peserta. Hasil edukasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai pretest dan postest peserta yang menunjukkan bahwa penyampaian edukasi tersampaikan dengan baik dan diterima oleh peserta.

Abstract

Dry skin, a common dermatological issue affecting individuals across all age groups, often disrupts the skin's protective barrier, leading to discomfort and increased sensitivity. Addressing this condition involves the use of moisturizers, which play a vital role in restoring skin hydration. In this study, a cream preparation was successfully developed using vegetable oils, including Borneo Tallow Nut, Almond Oil, and Olive Oil. The cream formula was optimized using the Design-Expert software with the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method to evaluate the impact of different concentrations of these oils on the cream's pH, viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion. The results demonstrated that the cream exhibited excellent thermo-physical stability, with optimum values of Borneo Tallow Nut at 1.349% w/w, Almond Oil at 3.598% w/w, and Olive Oil at 4.051% w/w. The cream achieved a pH value of 5.702, viscosity of 16.851 Cp, spreadability of 8.147 cm, and adhesion of 63.682 s, with a desirability score of 0.718. This research confirms that Borneo Tallow Nut, Olive Oil, and Almond Oil have significant potential as excipients in cream formulations.

Abstract

Jamur sawit merupakan bahan alam yang mengandung senyawa antioksidan sangat kuat, yaitu 19,14 bpj, sehingga memiliki potensi sebagai tabir surya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aktivitas ekstrak jamur sawit sebagai tabir surya dengan menentukan nilai SPF yang diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim dengan variasi konsentrasi lemak tengkawang dan lemak cokelat. Metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis digunakan untuk menentukan nilai SPF krim ekstrak jamur sawit. Diuji nilai SPF 7 formula dan diperoleh 3 formula terbaik, yaitu F1 (1,9305), F5 (1,6487), dan F7 (1,7906) untuk selanjutnya dilakukan evaluasi mutu fisik. Pada uji pH, F1, F5, dan F7 memenuhi persyaratan pH kulit, yaitu 4,5-6,5, dasil statistik pH diperoleh p>0,05 menunjukan tidak terdapat perbedaan pada variasi konsentrasi terhadap nilai pH. Pada uji viskositas F1, F5, dan F7 memenuhi persyaratan sediaan krim, yaitu 2.000-50.000 cPs. Pada uji daya sebar F1, F5, dan F7 tidak memenuhi persyaratan sediaan krim, yaitu 5-7 cm. Pada uji daya lekat tidak memenuhi persyaratan waktu daya lekat krim, yaitu <4 detik. Hasil viskositas diperoleh adanya perbedaan pada F1, F5, dan F7 dengan nilai p<0,05. Nilai signifikansi tersebut dapat diartikan adanya pengaruh variasi konsentrasi basis terhadap nilai viskositas.

Abstract

The growing demand for convenient and palatable delivery systems for herbal medicines has significantly increased the interest in herbal effervescent formulations as an alternative to conventional dosage forms. Effervescent dosage forms offer rapid dissolution and the potential for enhanced absorption while masking unpleasant tastes often associated with herbal extracts. However, the successful formulation of herbal effervescent tablets presents unique challenges, including managing the complex physicochemical properties of herbal extracts, ensuring their stability and antioxidant activity within the effervescent matrix, and optimizing taste without compromising efficacy. Various studies have explored the formulation of effervescent tablets from diverse herbal sources like Kelakai root, Kaempferia galanga, and red ginger, employing different formulation methods, excipients like binders, lubricants, and sweeteners, and optimization techniques to achieve desired physical attributes and dissolution profiles. Given the expanding research in this area and the inherent complexities of herbal effervescent formulation, a comprehensive review is crucial to synthesize current knowledge, address existing challenges, and provide a roadmap for future research aimed at designing more effective and patient-friendly herbal effervescent products with improved stability, palatability, and bioavailability.

Abstract

Penggunaan sabun merupakan salah satu cara mudah dan efektif untuk membersihkan dan mencegah infeksi atu penyakit dan banyak digunakan sebagai salah satu kebutuhan rumah tangga. Berbagai macam jenis sabun komersil sudah banyak beredar dipasaran. Namun, sabun yang beredar umumnya mengandung detergen kimia yang berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan, terutama perairan. Pengembangan produk sabun yang ramah lingkungan, seperti penggunaan bahan alami, dianggap lebih aman dan minum mencemari lingkungan. Oleh sebab itu, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini melakukan edukasi dan pelatihan pembuatan sabun organik eco-friendly berbahan lemon dan kayu manis kepada anggota masyarakat di KSP Credit Union Daya Lestari TP. Selili Samarinda. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 peserta, melalui kegiatan edukasi, diskusi, dan praktek langsung pembuatan sabun, serta penutup. Hasil yang diperoleh pada kegiatan PkM ini adalah produk sabun menggunakan bahan alami lemon dan kayu manis. Tingginya antusias peserta saat proses presentasi edukasi dan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan sabun yang dihasilkan menjadi bukti ketercapaian PkM yang dilakukan. Pada kegiatan PkM ini dapat menjadi masukkan bagi peserta untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kreativitas, dan jiwa kewirausahaan

Abstract

Tahongai (Kleinhovia hospita L.) is an indigenous plant of East Kalimantan known for its health benefits, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, and antidiabetic properties. This study evaluates the antihypercholesterolemic activity of Tahongai leaf infusion in hypercholesterolemic mice (Mus musculus L.), induced by egg yolk. The test groups included a positive control (simvastatin), a negative control (distilled water), and three treatment groups with Tahongai leaf infusion at concentrations of 15%, 30%, and 60%. The results indicated that the highest reduction in cholesterol levels was observed in the P1 group (15% infusion) with an average decrease of 30.84%, followed by P2 (30% infusion) at 24.79%, and P3 (60% infusion) at 9.31%. The positive control group showed an average reduction of 8.64%. Statistical analysis using One-Way ANOVA revealed a significant difference (p<0.05) in cholesterol level reduction among the treatment groups.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of public knowledge about the management of Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (ISPA) at the Sepaso Health Center in 2025. ISPA is a significant health problem in Indonesia, with a high incidence rate often caused by a lack of public knowledge about the prevention and treatment of this disease. Through this research, it is hoped that valuable information can be obtained to improve efforts to prevent and overcome ISPA in the future. The research method used is a survey with data collection through questionnaires distributed to the community in the Bengalon Health Center area. This research will also identify factors that affect the level of public knowledge about ISPA, as well as the effectiveness of educational programs that have been implemented by the Health Center. The majority of respondents were < 35 years old (37.5%), gender (66.7%), university education level (95.2%), working, (100%). The majority of knowledge levels are good (37.5%), the level of knowledge is sufficient >35 years old (72.7%), women (32.6%), elementary school (66.7%), working (39.4%), the level of knowledge is sufficient >35 years old (100%), women (100%), junior high school (63.6%), and RT mothers (50%).

Abstract

Krim merupakan sediaan topikal yang terdiri dari fase air, emulgator, dan fase minyak. Emulgator memegang peran penting dalam sediaan krim yang mempengaruhi homogenitas, viskositas, stabilitas, dan penampilan sediaan krim. Oleh sebab itu, pemilihan dan konsentrasi emulgator menjadi hal yang sangat penting. Pada penelilitian ini variasi konsentrasi Lipomulse luxe digunakan sebagai emulgator untuk mengetahui pengaruh Lipomulse luxe terhadap sediaan krim. Sediaan krim yang akan dibuat adalah krim aromaterapi dengan variasi Lipomulse luxe, yaitu F1 (3%), F2 (4%), F3 (5%), dan F4 (6%). Krim aromaterapi dievaluasi yang meliputi pengamatan organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji viskositas, uji pH, uji daya tercuci, dan uji stabilitas menggunakan metode sentrifugasi. Pengamatan organoleptis selama 28 hari menunjukkan perbedaan konsentrasi Lipomulse luxe tidak mempengaruhi warna (putih), bau (campuran lavender oil dan peppermint oil), dan bentuk (semi solid). Hasil homogenitas F1 menunjukkan ukuran globul yang terdispersi lebih besar dan F4 menunjukkan ukuran globul yang lebih kecil. Hasil viskositas menunjukkan F1 (10,1804 cP), F2 (18,016 cP), F3 (20,004 cP), dan F4 (22,768 cP), semakin besar konsentrasi Lipomulse luxe, maka semakin besar viskositas. Hasil uji pH menunjukkan F1 (5,16), F2 (5,26), F3 (5,66), dan F4 (5,78), perbedaan konsentrasi Lipomulse luxe tidak mempengaruhi pH sediaan krim aromaterapi. Hasil uji daya tercuci menunjukkan F1 (9,2 mL), F2 (10,2 mL), F3 (12,4 mL), dan F4 (16,0 mL), Lipomulse luxe mempengaruhi volume air yang dibutuhkan untuk krim dapat tercuci. Hasil uji stabilitas menggunakan metode sentrifugasi menunjukkan F1, F2, F3, dan F4 tidak stabil karena terjadi pemisahan fase. Perbedaan konsentrasi Lipomulse luxe mempengaruhi homogenitas, viskositas, daya tercuci, dan stabilitas sediaan krim aromaterapi. Semakin besar konsentrasi Lipomulse luxe semakin kecil ukuran globul, semakin besar viskositas, dan semakin besar volume air yang diperlukan untuk mencuci krim, dan semakin kecil volume air yang terpisah.Kata kunci: Krim aromaterapi, Lavender oil, Peppermint Oil, Emulgator, Lipomulse luxe
