The synthesized results show that efforts to improve nurses' professionalism involve various strategies that can be classified into internal (e.g., ethical behavior, self-efficacy, role cognition) and external (e.g., positive work culture, leadership support, CPD, work environment) factors. Organizational support, continuous professional development, and a conducive work environment were identified as key elements in improving nurses' professionalism. Abstract

Intrapersonal conflict is a condition where an individual has two desires that cannot be fulfilled simultaneously. This research aims to identify the description of intrapersonal conflict among nurses. The study design uses a scoping review method. Articles were identified using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) method. Inclusion criteria for this review article include articles in English or Indonesian, original articles, and articles that use quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods published within the last 5 years. A search of articles in this review yielded 819 articles, and the review identified 4 articles that met the inclusion criteria and were subsequently analyzed. The results of the analysis indicate the description of intrapersonal conflict among nurses, namely: (1) Career-related conflicts, hindered by further study; (2) Family-related conflicts. Nurses want to contribute to the family's economy but their partner asks them to take care of the children and the house; (3) Work-family life conflicts or sleep duration; (4) Religion-related conflicts, with an example of a Muslim nurse newly employed at a hospital but facing a mandatory rule to remove the hijab. The conclusion of this review article shows various descriptions of intrapersonal conflict among nurses and suggests that research be conducted to reduce or manage these conflicts.

Abstract

The school-age period represents a critical stage of child development, during which various social and emotional challenges begin to emerge. One of the issues that may occur is depression, which can be influenced by environmental factors, including the leadership style of nurses in providing care and guidance. This study aims to identify the relationship between nurses’ transformational leadership and the reduction of depression risk among school-age children. This review employed a literature review method by searching scientific articles published between 2018 and 2024 from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases using the keywords “transformational leadership,” “nurse,” “depression,” and “school-age children.” A total of 10 eligible articles were analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings indicate that nurses’ transformational leadership—consisting of charismatic behavior, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration—contributes to enhancing children’s emotional support, strengthening psychological resilience, and reducing the risk of depression. In conclusion, transformational leadership plays a significant role in fostering a supportive nursing environment for school-age children’s mental health. Further empirical studies are recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of transformational leadership-based nursing interventions in preventing childhood depression.

Abstract

Patient safety is a global and national issue for hospitals, which is also an important component of the basic principles of patient care, quality of health services and a critical component of quality management. The implementation of nursing actions must be by operational standards and safety targets, to improve the quality and quality of services and minimize the number of patient safety incidents. This research aims to analyze behavioral factors that influence the role of nurses in implementing patient safety goals. This research is quantitative research with a type of non-experimental research, namely design or relationship design or to test the significance of hypotheses. Sampling in this study used the sample census method, therefore 68 nurses were selected with the criteria of 23 nurses as a profession, 1 person with a bachelor's degree in nursing, and 44 people with a D3 nursing degree. The results of this research show that the factors that influence nurses in implementing patient safety targets consist of nurse experience, age, knowledge, self-efficacy, health facilities, training and work environment. The variables of nurse experience and nurse age were not found to have a relationship with the nurse's role, but the variables of nurse knowledge, self-efficacy, health facilitation, training and work environment partially had a relationship with the nurse's role in implementing safety targets for patients at RSU William Booth Semarang. Apart from that, the results showed that the dominant factor influencing the role of nurses in implementing patient safety targets was self-efficacy.

Abstract

Health students often face academic pressure and interpersonal conflicts that can affect their emotional regulation, thereby increasing the risk of self-harm behavior. This study aimed to explore the emotional experiences of health students who have engaged in self-harm through a phenomenological approach. A total of 8 participants (aged 18-25 years) who had engaged in self-harm and came from various health study programs participated in in-depth interviews lasting 45-70 minutes. The results of the study reveal three main themes: i) psychosocial stress as a trigger for negative emotions, ii) the role of social support in the recovery process, and iii) coping mechanisms and the need for professional intervention. These findings reveal emotional dynamics that have not been widely explored in the context of health students in Indonesia, particularly how self-harm is perceived as a strategy to control excessive emotional intensity. This study makes a new contribution by highlighting the need for interventions based on emotional regulation and increased social support that are appropriate to the subjective experiences of health students. Interventions based on empathy and psychological approaches that are more sensitive to the cultural context of the campus are the main recommendations.
