Abstract

The transformation of 21st-century education requires assessment systems that not only measure cognitive achievement but also foster deep and meaningful learning. Current practices, however, remain dominated by summative tests that emphasize memorization and fail to capture students’ holistic development. To address this gap, this article introduces the Authentic Assessment Based on Teaching and Learning Trajectory (AABTLT) as a conceptual model for sustainable assessment integrated into the learning process. AABTLT aligns learning objectives, instructional activities, and authentic assessment along structured learning trajectories, enabling teachers to monitor students’ progressive development through contextual and formative feedback. Developed through a comprehensive literature review and synthesis of studies on authentic assessment, learning trajectories, and deep learning, this model highlights the importance of assessment as a driver of learning rather than a terminal evaluation tool. The novelty of AABTLT lies in its integrative approach, combining authentic tasks, developmental indicators, and reflective practices to strengthen student engagement, critical thinking, and creativity. Its practical implications include clear guidelines for designing assessment instruments aligned with 21st-century skills and strategies for supporting teachers in formative evaluation. Future empirical research is recommended to validate the effectiveness of AABTLT in science education and interdisciplinary contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

The rapid changes in the world and the difficulties in accessing accurate information increase the need for individuals to engage in analytical and mathematical thinking. Therefore, educational reforms are being implemented, offering various approaches, including mathematical modeling. Mathematical modeling, which enables individuals to evaluate real-life situations using mathematical expressions, has recently been extensively studied in mathematical education but not science education. In this research, the topic of genetically modified organisms, a socio-scientific issue as a real-life situation, has been addressed. Sixteen prospective science teachers from a state university in the Marmara Region of Turkiye participated in the study. The “Genetically Modified Product Production” model eliciting activity developed by researchers was used as the data collection tool. The modeling activity aims to determine the prospective science teachers’ levels of mathematical modeling and their views on the production of genetically modified products. The data obtained from the research were analyzed using descriptive analysis methods. As a result of the research, although the participants encountered this activity for the first time, they generally demonstrated modeling competencies at Levels 2 and 3 (sufficient and moderate) in their solutions to the modeling activity. Regarding the production of genetically modified products, participants mainly expressed opposing views, considering it a socio-scientific issue. Keywords: socio-scientific issues, genetically modified organisms, mathematical modeling competencies

Abstract

The OECD announced that the science literacy scores of Indonesian students ranked 70th out of 78 participating countries, indicating that science literacy in Indonesia is in the low category. One effort that can be made to improve students' science literacy is by incorporating local wisdom into learning assessments. The aim of this research is to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a science literacy instrument based on Riau Malay ethnoscience. This study uses the R&D research method designed using the Plomp model. The application of the Plomp model involves three stages: the preliminary research phase, the prototyping phase, and the assessment phase. The research instruments used include questionnaires, observation sheets, interview sheets, and science literacy test instruments based on Riau Malay ethnoscience. The data analysis techniques consist of qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis. Based on the data analysis results, the validity level of the test items is 88.16%, which falls into the valid category. The practicality level is 92%, which falls into the practical category. In the effectiveness stage, a score of 47.21% was obtained, which falls into the moderate category. The conclusion of this research is that the science literacy instrument based on Riau Malay ethnoscience is considered valid, practical, and suitable for use in science education.

Abstract

Learning using the STEM integrated project based learning model in the 21st century is widely applied in schools, so researchers want to create a literature review for this title. This research uses a systematic literature review method, namely collecting several articles that match the title being studied. Based on the literature selection process (prism method) that has been carried out, it is known that the literature search results (identification) total 3 pieces of literature, 489 pieces of literature sourced from Google Scholar and 352 pieces of literature sourced from Crossruff. The results of this research show that the average N-gain value in the experimental and control classes has a significant difference so that the data obtained is high enough to improve students' creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze literature related to the development of PJBL-based modules to improve creative thinking in junior high school students. The aim of this research is to select articles that are suitable for analysis related to the Development of Pjbl-Based Modules to Improve Creative Thinking in Middle School Students. The benefit of this research is to make it easier for researchers to obtain literature that is suitable for analysis related to the title of the research that will be carried out by the researcher. The method of this research is to use the PRISMA method, which is a method that has steps, namely identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. The conclusion of this research is that the PRISMA method is a systematic literature review type research method which aims to make it easier for researchers to carry out research whose research results are based on the results of literature analysis that has been selected in stages through several systematic procedures. Based on the results of the PRISMA method carried out by researchers, 7 pieces of literature were obtained that were suitable for analysis. As a result of the PRISMA method, which was carried out to select several literatures, the total number of literatures that were excluded or not suitable for analysis was 1,989 literatures.
