Abstract

Teacher competence is essential in today’s education, where teachers are expected to not only deliver content but also mentor, assess, and support students' character development. With rapid technological changes, diverse student populations, and evolving learning needs, teachers must continuously adapt their competencies. However, previous research has largely focused on local or conceptual discussions, lacking a comprehensive global perspective. This study aims to map the scientific landscape of teacher competence research from 2005 to mid-2025 using a scientometric method based on the PRISMA 2020 framework. A total of 397 peer-reviewed journal articles indexed in Scopus were analyzed using Biblioshiny. The results show a significant increase in publications after 2020, particularly addressing digital competence, inclusive education, and pedagogical knowledge. Germany and the Netherlands are identified as key contributors, while Indonesia exhibits high productivity with limited international collaboration. This study not only highlights thematic trends and influential contributors but also provides practical insights for shaping future teacher development strategies. By uncovering global research patterns, this work contributes to a more adaptive, inclusive, and digitally responsive understanding of teacher competence in an era of educational transformation.

Abstract

Abstract

The intersection of digital economy and education has gained significant academic attention over the past decade, particularly with the increasing influence of artificial intelligence, big data, and platform-based learning. However, a comprehensive understanding of the field's evolution remains limited. This study conducts a bibliometric and systematic review of 201 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2014 and December 2024, retrieved from the Scopus database. The PRISMA framework guided the selection process. Bibliometric performance analysis and science mapping were carried out using VOSviewer, RStudio, Excel, and OpenRefine to explore publication trends, key themes, influential authors, and emerging research fronts. Findings reveal three dominant thematic clusters: technological innovation (e.g., economic growth, energy efficiency), advanced technologies (e.g., AI, big data, e-learning), and human-centered education (e.g., equity, curriculum design, sustainability). The number of publications peaked between 2020 and 2022, correlating with global shifts due to COVID-19 and increased digital adoption. Despite strong research output, underexplored areas remain, such as Industry 4.0, ethical AI use, and smart mobility in education. This study identifies critical gaps and suggests future research directions, including the need for inclusive digital infrastructure, ethical governance of educational AI, and sustainable models of digital transformation. A conceptual framework is proposed to guide interdisciplinary inquiry at the intersection of education and the digital economy.

Abstract

Background  The digital divide persists in rural Indonesia, where many women entrepreneurs remain largely excluded from digital economic activities. This gap is particularly urgent because it restricts women-led MSMEs from competing effectively in an increasingly digital marketplace. Research Urgency  Addressing this gap is urgently needed as low digital economic literacy among housewives in rural areas continues to hinder effective digital marketing practices. Therefore, targeted interventions are necessary to strengthen digital capabilities within rural women's communities. Research Objectives  This study analyzes the influence of digital economic literacy on digital marketing competency among women in the Local Hero Community in Lampegan Village, Ibun District, Bandung Regency, Indonesia. Research Method  A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. Questionnaires using a Likert scale (1–5) were distributed to all 25 members (census study) of the Local Hero Women's Community. Data were processed using simple linear regression analysis. Research Findings  Digital economic literacy positively and significantly influences digital marketing competency (R² = 0.715; p < 0.001; t-calculated = 7.953 > t-table = 1.714). Digital economic literacy explains 71.5% of variance in digital marketing competency, with the regression equation Y = 10.354 + 0.867X. Research Conclusion  Strengthening digital economic literacy significantly improves rural women's digital marketing competencies. The WanojaMart local marketplace serves not merely as a transactional platform but as a digital economic school, supporting sustainable women's empowerment aligned with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Research Novelty  This study uniquely connects digital economic literacy with a locally embedded digital ecosystem (WanojaMart marketplace), demonstrating that effective women's empowerment requires a context-specific supportive network, not merely access to technology.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to evaluate the role of digital literacy and training in shaping teachers' self-efficacy and in contributing to the development of digital competencies among high school teachers. Methodology: A quantitative research design was used, employing a correlational survey. Data were collected from 100 high school teachers in East Java through an online questionnaire. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis was performed using SmartPLS 4.0 software to evaluate measurement validity, structural paths, and mediation effects. Main Findings: Digital literacy, training, and self-efficacy have a significant, positive influence on teachers' digital competence. Both digital literacy and training also significantly influence teachers' self-efficacy, although the influence is relatively small. In addition, self-efficacy partially mediates the relationship between digital literacy and training in digital competence, underscoring its strategic role in improving teachers' ability to integrate technology into education. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a new perspective by identifying self-efficacy as a psychological bridge between external support (training) and internal competency development. It enriches current knowledge by integrating personal belief systems into the digital competency framework and provides practical implications for designing more effective teacher professional development programs.
