Abstract

Muara Sungai Kapuas Besar yang terletak Kecamatan Sungai Kakap memiliki peran penting bagi masyarakat sekitar terutama dalam bidang perikanan, transportasi, perdagangan, pertanian, pariwisata, dan kebudayaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji karakteristik pasang surut dan arus yang bermanfaat bagi pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan Muara Sungai Kapuas Besar. Hasil pengukuran dianalisis menggunakan metode  least square  (dengan software  t_tide). Pengukuran dilakukan selama 14 Hari dengan interval 1 jam pengukuran level muka air dan interval 2 jam untuk laju arus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perairan ini memiliki tipe pasang surut harian tunggal dengan bilangan  formzahl  (F) 9,29. Berdasarkan tunggang pasang surutnya, pasang surut di lokasi penelitian dikategorikan mesotidal (kisaran 100cm-200cm). Arus di lokasi penelitian ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi Total Suspended Solid (TSS) dan pola sebaran sedimen tersuspensi di muara Sungai Peniti, Kabupaten Mempawah, Kalimantan Barat. Titik sampling ditentukan berdasarkan metode purposive sampling. Terdapat 6 stasiun pengambilan sampel yaitu Stasiun 1-3 mewakili daerah muara sungai dan Stasiun 4-6 mewakili daerah arah lepas pantai, 500 meter dari mulut muara. Data yang dikumpulkan di masing-masing stasiun adalah data kedalaman, TSS, dan TDS. Nilai kedalaman diperoleh menggunakan depth finder, dan sampel air untuk TSS yang diambil menggunakan water sampler kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode gravimetri, dan data TDS diukur menggunakan TDSmeter. Pola sebaran TSS diperoleh berdasarkan analisis data citra Landsat 8 dari tahun 2018-2020 yang didapatkan dari USGS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bagian lepas pantai lebih dangkal (1,1 m) dibandingkan dengan kedalaman di mulut sungai (1,5 m). Konsentrasi TSS tertinggi pada Stasiun 2, bagian mulut muara, dengan nilai 33203 mg/l dan terendah di Stasiun 4, lepas pantai, dengan nilai 45 mg/l. Tingginya konsentrasi TSS dapat mengakibatkan tingginya tingkat kekeruhan. Hasil pengukuran lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pola sebaran sedimen di muara sungai cenderung ke arah utara. Berdasarkan citra Landsat 8 diketahui bahwa pola sebaran TSS pada setiap musim, sedimen menyebar ke selatan pada Musim Barat dan sebaliknya akan menyebar ke utara pada Musim Timur. Pada Musim Peralihan I dan II, sedimen akan menyebar ke dua arah yang berbeda (utara dan selatan).

Abstract

Samudera Indah Beach is located in Sungai Raya Kepulauan District, Bengkayang Regency. Tides have a significant influence on the dynamics of the geomorphology of waters, especially coastal waters. The phenomenon of tides in coastal waters can cause regular changes in sea level. Coastal waters are strongly influenced by the highest tides and lowest ebbs. An understanding of tides is necessary because it is one of the important perspectives in monitoring the characteristics of a body of water. This study aims to determine the analysis of tidal harmonics and determine significant fromzahl numbers and types of tides in the coastal waters of Samudra Indah, Bengkayang Regency. Field tide data collection was carried out from March 26 2021 to April 9 2021 which was carried out at Samudra Indah Beach, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan. Research and collection of tidal data was carried out for 15 days. The results showed that the tidal type in the waters of Samudera Indah Beach, Bengkayang Regency, was a mixture of double daily skew with a Formzahl number of 1.3.

Abstract

Sampah laut (marine debris) merupakan bahan padat yang diproduksi atau diproses secara langsung atau tidak langsung, sengaja atau tidak sengaja, dibuang atau ditinggalkan di dalam lingkungan laut. Sampah laut dapat terdampar di wilayah pantai akibat fenomena fisika di laut. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada wilayah konservasi penyu di Pantai Kampak Sungai Belacan, Kecamatan Paloh, Kalimantan Barat. Pantai Kampak yang merupakan wilayah konservasi jarang ada kegiatan manusia sehingga sampah laut yang terdampar dapat terakumulasi seiring waktu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendata jenis sampah yang terdampar di pesisir pantai. Terdapat tiga stasiun yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pendataan sampah mengacu pada form International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) dengan luas area pendataan sepanjang 100 m tiap stasiun. Kategori sampah yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah (benda yang sering ditemukan) dengan sampah terbanyak adalah tutup botol plastik. Ada dua kategori yang ditambahkan karena tidak terdapat di form ICC yaitu macro debris dan sampah lainnya. Analisis Anova Satu Arah digunakan sebagai perbandingan pada tiap stasiun di wilayah penelitian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa banyaknya sampah yang ditemukan mempengaruhi lingkungan terutama wilayah pesisir pantai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pemodelan pasang surut di Teluk Tambelan dan membandingkan kesesuaian hasil model dengan hasil pengukuran lapangan. Prosedur penelitian diawali dengan pengambilan data pasang surut selama 30 hari di 2 stasiun. Selanjutnya pengukuran kondisi Oseanografi yang diukur seperti, pasang surut dan arus laut. Pengolahan data pasang surut menggunakan metode Least Square pada program t_tide dengan komponen harmonik (Mâ‚‚, Sâ‚‚, K1, O1 dan Mâ‚„). Pemodelan pasang surut dilakukan dengan menggunakan Princeton Ocean Model (POM). Hasil model pasang surut diverifikasi dengan hasil pengukuran lapangan, sehingga diperoleh fase dan amplitudo pasang surut komponen O1 berkisar 197 °-205 ° dan 0,2-0,22m, komponen K1 berkisar 242 °-252 ° (phase) dan 0,21-0,24 m (amplitudo), komponen   Mâ‚‚ berkisar 97 °-104 ° (phase) dan 0,125-0,31m (amplitudo), komponen Sâ‚‚ berkisar 107,5 °-110 ° (phase) dan 0,073-0,079m (amplitudo) dan komponen Mâ‚„ berkisar 1,4 °-1,8 ° (phase) dan 260-300m (amplitudo). Pola aliran arus pasang surut menunjukkan dua pola dengan fase yang berbeda yaitu fase purnama dan fase perbani. Pada fase purnama arus memiliki pola yang sedikit terlambat dikarenakan pasang tertinggi arus cenderung bergerak keluar dari teluk sedangkan pada saat kondisi air laut surut maka arus cenderung bergerak masuk ke teluk. Fase perbani menunjukkan arus memiliki pola cenderung sesuai dimana pada pasang tertinggi arus akan bergerak masuk ke dalam teluk, sedangkan pada saat surut terendah arus cenderung bergerak keluar dari teluk. Kecepatan arus maksimum terjadi pada kondisi surut dengan nilai kecepatan 0,903 m/s.

Abstract

Desa Sungai Nibung is a village located in Teluk Pakedai District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. This village is one of the conservation areas established by the Regional Government of West Kalimantan Province in 2020. Desa Sungai Nibung has a high diversity of natural resources, one of which is gastropods. Gastropods are organisms that act as grazers, scavengers, and predators. These organisms can live in waters, coastal and terrestrial. Its diversity has been reported to be more than 75,000 species. Several gastropods have been used by the local community as food with a high protein source. Gastropods found on the coast of Sungai Nibung Village are Ellobium, Cassidula, Nerita, Neritina, Chicoreus, Cerithidea, Littoria, Potamopyrgus, and Onchidium.

Abstract

West Kalimantan Province has five Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), one of which is the Randayan MPA. It is located in Bengkayang Regency abd was officially established in 2019 through Peraturan Daerah Provinsi Kalimantan Barat No. 1. One of the mandated activities was public education on conservation, which mostly targeted adults whose livelihoods depended on the extraction of natural resources. Concerning the conservation awareness gap for teenagers and children, our Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) initiated the application of the concepts of Social Capital and Bandura’s Social Learning Theory to facilitate this the community. It was found that the involvement of multi stakeholders supports the well-rounded learning experience for the children and teenagers in enchancing their awareness about the conservation of marine ecosystem and the life of under water. Online guest lecture from Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries as well as guided learning process by undergraduate students through their community service program are some of the influential initiatives.

Abstract

The research aims to enhance marine literacy and raise awareness among high school students in Mempawah Regency about vital role of mangrove ecosystems in maintaining coastal environmental balance. Limited student understanding has contributed to low participation in conservation efforts. A participatory educational approach was implemented through material presentation, interactive discussion, and marine equipment demonstrations. Questionnaire results indicated that over 90% of participants reported an increased understanding, with most expressing motivation to engage in mangrove conservation activities. These findings highlight the effectiveness of participatory methods in fostering marine literacy and environmental awareness. The program’s success is expected to serve as a sustainable model for environmental education in schools and can be expanded to promote ecological consciousness at the community level.

Abstract

Batu Ampar Village is a coastal area included in the administrative area of Batu Ampar District, Kubu Raya Regency. The mangrove area of Batu Ampar Village reaches 58,953 ha and is a habitat for gastropods. Gastropods are a group of shelled animals that inhabit the mangrove area. The use of mangrove wood as charcoal in Batu Ampar Village causes damage and affects the life of gastropods. This study aims to examine the structure of the gastropod community in the mangrove area of Batu Ampar Village. The study was conducted on October 26, 2024 using a 1 x 1 m transect with a purposive random sampling method. Based on the results of gastropod identification in the mangrove area of Batu Ampar Village, West Kalimantan, 5 gastropod families were found consisting of Littorinidae, Muricidae, Ellobiidae, Potamididae, and Neritidae. The most commonly found species is Nerita balteata with a total density of 4 ind/m2. The diversity index (H"™) of gastropods is 0.73 and is classified as low. The gastropod uniformity index (E) is 0.59 and is classified as moderate. The gastropod dominance index (C) is 0.4 so that no species dominates.

Abstract

Sungai Nibung Village is a KKPP3K (Coastal Waters and Small Islands Conservation Area) in Kubu Raya District. This community features an abundance of diverse natural resources, such as crab, fish, shrimp, squid, octopus, and finless dolphins. This indigenous biota is sustained by fertility and high water quality. Water fertility reveals high nutrient concentration and identifies phytoplankton as primary producers. Water contains nutrients in the form of nitrates and phosphates. Phytoplankton and other aquatic species require these nutrients to survive. The concentration of chlorophyll-a, the primary pigment of phytoplankton, which has a role in photosynthesis, can also be used to estimate the trophic state of waterways. The fertility of Sungai Nibung Village waters in the sea (Station I and II), estuary (Station III), and river (Station IV and V) has been assessed. Nitrate and phosphate levels in water samples were assessed in line with SNI 06-2480-1991 and SNI 06-6989.31.2005, respectively. The chlorophyll-a was evaluated using the trichromatic method with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 664, 647, and 630 nm. Sungai Nibung Village's waters include 0.9−1.5 mg/L nitrate and 2.06−2.19 mg/L phosphate. Chlorophyll-a levels range from 2−5 μg/L, placing them in the low category.
