Abstract

One of the risk components that are most vulnerable to earthquake disasters is children. Klaten Regency is one of the areas frequently shaken by earthquakes. Therefore, this study aims to measure students' adaptive capacity and resilience to earthquakes in the Klaten Regency. Respondents in this study were students of SMP M 8 Wedi, MTs M 10 Wedi, and SMP M 21gantiwarno, Klaten Regency. The adaptive capacity of students is measured based on institutional memory, innovative learning, and connectedness. In contrast, students' resilience level is measured based on emotion regulation, control over problems, optimism, empathy, self-efficacy, ability to analyze issues, and achievement. Data were collected using a questionnaire and processed using descriptive statistics. The level of adaptive capacity and resilience of the student community to natural disasters has different characteristics due to the influence of several factors such as the location of the school in a disaster-prone area, the integration of disaster material into learning, experience in disaster emergency response conditions, school policies on disaster mitigation and family or community factors environment. The best level of adaptive capacity is found in SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Wedi with 62.90%, and MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi has a poor level of adaptive capacity with 44.32%. Moreover, based on gender characteristics, the level of adaptive capacity of male students is better than female students, with the lowest percentage being female at MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi. The highest level of student resilience is found at MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi at 61.36%, while SMP Muhammadiyah 21 Gantiwarno is classified as poor at 33.33%. Based on gender characteristics, the highest level of resilience is female at MTs Muhammadiyah 10 Wedi, with 91.67%.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is a country with a high level of volcanic activity, including repeated eruptions of Mount Merapi, which have had an impact on the environment and surrounding communities. In this context, strengthening teacher capacity is essential to improve disaster literacy and adaptation in schools so that it can support student preparedness and resilience in facing disaster risks. The purpose of this community service activity is further to strengthen teachers' understanding of disaster adaptation and literacy. This community service activity further strengthens teachers' understanding of disaster adaptation and literacy skills. Methods: Community service activities use socialization and education methods related to disaster adaptation and literacy skills. In addition, the community service team encourages participants to understand the integration of disaster material in the learning process to encourage increased disaster adaptation and literacy skills. Results: The results of the community service show that after participating in this activity, participants began to understand the importance of integrating disaster material into the learning process because it will be related to 21st-century skills. Participants also realized that through this integration, lifelong learning can be achieved. Conclusion: Disaster material is still very limited in its integration into learning; it is necessary to have an understanding and readiness from each teacher in the field of science to understand and integrate it into every learning activity.

Abstract

Umbulrejo Village has interesting and unique natural tourism potential. This village has officially become a tourist village and has had a pokdarwis (tourism awareness group); however, after the pandemic, the number of tourists coming was very small, so it had an impact on the economy of the community in Umbulrejo Village. Based on the potential and problems experienced by the Umbulrejo pokdarwis, it is known that the capacity of human resources in managing the Umbulrejo Tourism Village is very limited, so that tourism management is not optimal. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the managerial capacity of the tourist village for the Umbulrejo pokdarwis. This community empowerment activity is carried out through three stages, namely the awareness and behavior formation stage, the transformation stage, and the intellectual enhancement stage. From the results of this community empowerment activity, the following results were obtained: 1) the awareness and behavior formation stage, namely, the community around the Umbulrejo Tourism Village must start building networks and working together as a team, especially between homestay providers and pokdarwis administrators. This stage has been carried out well, and intensive communication has been realized between pokdarwis administrators and homestay providers; 2) the transformation stage, namely, the community begins to integrate local culture into tourism activities. The community prepares a tour package that is integrated with the appearance of local culture in (Umbulrejo Tourism Village; 3) the intellectual development stage, namely the creation of social media for promotion with an attractive and informative design. The Pokdarwis management already has several social media accounts that can be used as promotional media. Through this community service activity, the management of Umbulrejo Tourism Village is expected to maintain the sustainability of tourism in Umbulrejo Village.

Abstract

Indonesia's geography poses a threat to society due to its volcanic activity. Disaster self-awareness and disaster preparedness are considered to influence students' actions in dealing with eruptions, both before, during, and after a disaster occurs. Disaster self-awareness enables individuals to take appropriate actions when faced with a disaster, while preparedness involves a series of activities to anticipate disasters. By choosing SMP Negeri 2 Kemalang as the research site, which is close to Mount Merapi, it is hoped that this study can provide a better understanding of how disaster self-awareness can influence students' preparedness in dealing with eruptions. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of disaster self-awareness and preparedness of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kemalang in dealing with the eruption of Mount Merapi, and to determine the relationship between the two variables. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive with a contingency coefficient correlation design. The results showed that the level of disaster self-awareness of students was 67.50% in the preparedness category. The preparedness variable obtained a percentage score of 77.06%, which is included in the high category. The relationship between the two variables is included in the weak correlation category with a value of 0.298. In an effort to improve students' preparedness for volcanic eruption disasters, schools need to integrate disaster education into the curriculum in a comprehensive and sustainable manner. Further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of disaster education programs and to identify other factors that influence optimal student preparedness.

Abstract

Disaster education through socialization activities at SMK Negeri Jenawi can increase disaster knowledge that is sufficient to deal with landslides. This study aims to determine the level students knowledge of landslides and analyze the influence of socialization activities on students knowledge of landslides in facing landslides. The method used in this research is quantitative with correlation research design. The results of this study showed that 1) students perceptions of disaster socialization activities were in the strongly agree category. 2) students knowledge in landslide disaster and how to deal with it has a very good category with the percentage of correct answers above 80%. 3) the correlation of disaster socialization activities to level of knowledge of students at SMK Negeri Jenawi has a value of 0,881 and a significance value of 0.002 is smaller than significance level of 5% (0.002 < 0.05). Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh intensitas bencana alam berupa banjir yang cukup tinggi di area Bayat, Klaten sehingga diperlukan adanya kesadaran ekologis sejak dini. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya pengaruh green literature terhadap kesadaran ekologis di SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Bayat. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan meliputi tiga tahapan yakni 1) Tahap persiapan, 2) Tahap pelaksanaan, dan 3) Tahap evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan cara advokasi dan difusi IPTEKS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh green literature berbanding lurus dengan tingkat kesadaran ekologis peserta didik di SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Bayat.  Hal ini ditunjukkan dari karya sastra yang dihasilkan oleh siswa telah mengintegrasikan konsep ekologis. Kesadaran ekologis yang ditanamkan sejak dini sangat diperlukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan bencana alam masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

Herbarium merupakan suatu eksperimen dari bahan tumbuhan yang telah dimatikan dan diawetkan melalui metode tertentu yang dilengkapi dengan data-data dan manfaat dari tumbuhan tersebut. Ada beberapa tahapan dari pembuatan herbarium, dimulai dari pengumpulan tanaman, pengeringan, pengawetan, dan pembuatan herbarium. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Lokasi yang digunakan di MIM Plumbon, Kecamatan Eromoko. Sasaran penelitian adalah siswa MIM Plumbon. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1)  herbarium ini termasuk herbarium kering, (2) Tumbuhan yang digunakan dalam herbarium ini antara lain,  daun pepaya, daun singkong, daun jambu biji, dan daun seledri, (3) Penyampaian manfaat tanaman obat yang telah dikeringkan unutk di sosialisasikan kepada seluruh warga MIM Plumbon. (4) Tingkat pengetahuan dan perilaku sikap ilmiah tergolong rendah

Abstract

Tumbuh Kembang anak atau pertumbuhan dan perkembangan adalah proses alami yang terjadi di kehidupan manusia. Saat ini tumbuh kem-bang anak haruslah dipantau dan diperhatikan apalagi pada anak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk peningkatan pemahaman pola asuh orang tua melalui sosialisasi yang mendukung ter-wujudnya generasi emas. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan narasumber penduduk Kampung Panggung Rejo yang berusia 30-40 tahun dan berjumlah 2 orang. Data diperoleh mengggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi dan wawancara kepada narasumber. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan studi pustaka un-tuk menambah wawasan dan informasi yang relevan. Subjek dari pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat Kampung Panggung Rejo kemudian objek dari pengabdian ini yaitu pemahaman pola asuh dalam tumbuh kembang anak usia dini. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Milles and Huberman yang terdiri dari tiga kegiatan yaitu reduksi data, display data dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Pelaksanaan so-sialisasi menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi dan tanya jawab. Hasil yang diperolehyaitu kegiatan sosialisasi tumbuh kembang anak mendapatkan respon yang baik dari masyarakat terlihat dari antusiasme warga masyarakat cukup tinggi sekitar 70% terhadap kegiatan sosialisasi ini. Acara tersebut dihadiri oleh para kader posyandu menur 23, guru dan kepala sekolah PAUD.

Abstract

Permasalahan gender menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang muncul pada saat bencana. Masyarakat perempuan seringkali dianggap sebagai masyarakat yang lemah sehingga, peran perempuan saat situasi pra, saat dan pasca bencana sangatlah minim. Kondisi kerentanan bencana semakin diperparah pada saat pasca bencana. Perempuan korban bencana seringkali belum mendapatkan perhatian khusus di lokasi pengungsian. Hal tersebut dikarenakan peran perempuan dalam kondisi pasca bencana masih sangat minim. Keterlibatan perempuan seringkali hanya pada tahap pengelolaan bahan makanan selain itu, perempuan yang terlibat seringkali bukan merupakan perempuan korban bencana melainkan relawan. Perempuan dapat melakukan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam bencana karena keterampilan dan kapasitas perempuan pada saat melakukan kegiatan domestik di rumah (menjaga anak, mencuci, membersihkan rumah, dll). Berdasarkan kondisi yang ada di Kabupaten Klaten, perlu adanya sosialisasi dan edukasi mengenai pentingnya strategi Pengarusutamaan Gender (PUG) dalam bencana, khususnya pasca bencana. Sosialisasi dan edukasi untuk memperkuat strategi PUG saat situasi pasca bencana dilakukan dengan pemberian materi mengenai pemulihan trauma/trauma healing akibat bencana melalui lagu. Perempuan memiliki kemampuan sebagai caregivers yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan laki-laki oleh sebab itu, pemberdayaan perempuan saat situasi pasca bencana menjadi aspek yang perlu diperhatikan dalam siklus penanggulangan bencana.

Abstract

Siswa difabel termasuk kelompok yang rentan menjadi korban saat terjadi bencana. Kondisi ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah masih terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran oleh guru di SLB BC Dharma Bangsa Klaten. Rendahnya pemanfaatan media tersebut menjadi salah satu alasan mengapa siswa difabel belum sepenuhnya memahami dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh bencana. Upaya untuk mengatasi masalah ini dapat dilakukan melalui sosialisasi dan pendampingan yang bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman guru mengenai pentingnya mitigasi bencana bagi siswa difabel dan pentingnya integrasi media pembelajaran. Tim pengabdian juga melakukan kegiatan perencanaan yang melibatkan pihak sekolah. Melalui program pengabdian ini, peserta menyadari bahwa pembelajaran kebencanaan sangat penting dan harus diberikan kepada siswa dengan menggunakan media interaktif.
