Abstract

This research endeavours to elucidate the notable disparities in Problem-Solving Skills (PSS) when employing the Flipped Learning Model with a STEM Approach (FLM-SA) in contrast to Routine Learning, contingent upon attitude categories. The study harnesses a quantitative methodology with a quasi-experimental design. A sample size of 210 students is utilised, chosen via cluster random sampling. The instruments for data collection comprise: 1) an attitude questionnaire; 2) problem-solving tests; and 3) an observation sheet for the execution of the learning process. The techniques for data analysis employed are both parametric and non-parametric tests. The findings unveil a significant discrepancy in the students' Problem-Solving Skills based on attitude category between the control group, post the implementation of routine e-learning, and the treatment group, post the utilisation of the FLM-SA Module. Students possessing a Medium Attitude Category in the experimental class exhibit superior problem-solving skills compared to the control class. In contrast, students with Low and High Attitude Categories do not demonstrate a significant difference between the control and experimental classes. These findings underscore the significance of differentiated learning by implementing Teaching at the Right Level. Ideally, teachers should conduct an initial diagnostic assessment to ascertain students' initial attitudes or abilities

Abstract

This investigation examines the efficacy of the Flipped Learning Model, supplemented with Nearpod media, on the academic outcomes of fifth-grade students in the subject of fractions. Utilising a quantitative methodology within a quasi-experimental research design, the Flipped Learning Model was deployed over three sessions. Nearpod media was employed to stimulate student engagement and enhance academic outcomes. A comparative study was conducted between students who were subjected to the Flipped Learning Model with Nearpod media (N=12) and a control group (N=12) that utilised the Direct Learning Model with image media. The analysis revealed a significant discrepancy in academic outcomes between the two groups (0.023, p < 0.05). Throughout the investigation, students who were exposed to the Flipped Learning Model with Nearpod media showed an improvement in academic outcomes (Mchange= 0.000, p < 0.05), indicating a significant influence on students' mathematical learning. The integration of the Flipped Learning Model with Nearpod media was found to be notably effective in improving students' academic outcomes (0.67, 0.03<g<0.7). This confirms that the implementation of the Flipped Learning Model with Nearpod media has a significant impact on enhancing classroom academic outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematics often poses a daunting challenge for elementary school students, affecting their academic performance. Addressing this issue requires creating more engaging and innovative learning approaches. This research and development endeavour aim to assess the validity and practicality of a STEAM-based inquiry learning module assisted by a liveworksheet for multiplication material in third-grade elementary school. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. The research involved 11 third-grade students at Tulip Putih Elementary School, and both quantitative descriptive analysis and qualitative description techniques were applied for data analysis. The validation results affirmed the suitability of the developed module, categorizing it as excellent. Trial results further demonstrated the practicality of the developed tool. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the STEAM-Inquiry Learning module assisted by a liveworksheet, developed for third-grade elementary school students studying multiplication, is suitable for implementation. The incorporation of technology within teaching modules enables educators to create interactive learning experiences. This can enhance the understanding of the material and subsequently influence the improvement of learning outcomes. The deployment of this instructional module stimulates students to be more engaged and active in class, nurturing critical, creative, confident, and analytical thinking skills

Abstract

Teaching integer operations in elementary schools encounters several challenges, notably students' difficulties in applying mathematical concepts to real-life situations. Moreover, the integration of technology in elementary school mathematics worksheets remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) Liveworksheets in improving learning outcomes for fourth-grade students in number operations. The participants of this study were 15 fourth-grade students at Mekar Elementary School. The research utilized a Research and Development approach, following the ADDIE model. Evaluations by experts yielded the following scores: media experts rated the worksheets at 81.5 ("Good"), material experts at 85.5 ("Good"), and the practicality assessment scored 83.5 ("Good"). Before the implementation of the PjBL Liveworksheet, students had an average score of 70.6, which increased to 79 post-implementations. The n-gain score of 0.30, classified as "Medium," indicates a moderate improvement in student learning outcomes. These findings demonstrate that the use of PjBL Live Worksheets has a positive impact on student learning outcomes, enhancing their enthusiasm for collaborative project work and their ability to engage with digital worksheets. Integrating such innovative tools into the curriculum could significantly contribute to better educational practices and improved student performance in mathematics

Abstract

In the 21st century, educational innovations are essential to enhance student engagement and the relevance of learning materials to their cultural and technological contexts. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model integrated with the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach, supported by Augmented Reality  media, on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Banjarejo Elementary School, specifically in the topic of flat shapes. It also compares the learning outcomes between classes utilizing this innovative model and those employing conventional teaching methods. Employing a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental design, the study involved two classes: IV A as the experimental group (N = 20) and IV B as the control group (N = 20). Research instruments included validated and reliable multiple-choice and essay questions. The independent t-test analysis revealed significant differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The findings indicate that the PBL model combined with CRT and AR is effective, achieving an N-Gain value of 58.45%. This approach fosters contextual, interactive learning that aligns with students, cultural backgrounds, demonstrating its potential to enhance educational practices in mathematics.

Abstract

Nusukan Primary School primarily utilises conventional teaching methods, with limited incorporation of technology. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the Kahoot-supported Inquiry-Based Learning model in enhancing the problem-solving skills of primary school students. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, the research was conducted with two third-year classes at Nusukan Primary School. The experimental group received instruction through the Inquiry-Based Learning model integrated with Kahoot media, while the control group was taught using conventional methods supplemented by PowerPoint presentations. Data were collected via pre- and post-intervention problem-solving assessments to measure the comparative effectiveness of the instructional approaches. The findings of this study indicate that the experimental group, which received instruction through the Kahoot-supported Inquiry-Based Learning model, demonstrated significantly superior problem-solving abilities compared to the control group. The experimental group achieved an N-Gain score of 78%, classified as 'effective,' whereas the control group recorded a score of 38%, deemed 'less effective.' Furthermore, the integration of Kahoot media enhanced the efficacy of the Inquiry-Based Learning approach, particularly during the second phase (organising students) and the concluding phase. This enhancement contributed substantially to the improvement of problem-solving skills among primary school students.
