Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation and outcomes of a community service program designed to enhance the creativity and technological skills of pre-service teachers through training on the development of interactive e-books using Canva. The program was initiated in response to the limited ability of students to optimally utilize Canva’s interactive features for designing innovative and applicable digital learning media. The community service method employed was training and mentoring based on a hands-on practice approach. The program was conducted through three main stages: needs analysis, training implementation, and evaluation. The participants were fifth-semester students of Nurul Jadid University, Probolinggo. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and an assessment rubric for the e-book products. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques to examine participants’ responses and the quality of the developed e-books. The results indicate that the majority of participants provided positive responses to all aspects of the training. The program contributed to improvements in participants’ understanding of Canva, creativity in designing interactive e-books, and self-confidence in developing and utilizing digital learning media. It can be concluded that training on interactive e-book development using Canva is effective in improving the technological skills and creativity of pre-service teachers and in supporting their readiness to meet the demands of 21st-century education

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital guru di MTs Al-Qudsiyyah Cimanggu melalui pelatihan pembuatan video pembelajaran dan e-book interaktif menggunakan Canva. Kegiatannya meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perencanaan, sesi pelatihan, pendampingan, dan refleksi berdasarkan model Hatton & Smith. Para guru diperkenalkan dengan fitur-fitur Canva dan berlatih langsung membuat media pembelajaran. Hasil pemantauan menunjukkan bahwa semua guru berhasil menghasilkan setidaknya satu video pembelajaran dan satu e-book interaktif dengan kualitas yang memadai. Program ini meningkatkan kreativitas guru, kemampuan mereka dalam mengoperasikan Canva, dan kesiapan mereka untuk mengintegrasikan media digital ke dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Secara keseluruhan, program ini secara positif memperkuat kompetensi digital guru dan mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menarik.

Abstract

Abstrak: Madrasah Aliyah Ahmad Yani Jabung menghadapi berbagai tantangan terkait penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu masalah utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya aksesibilitas terhadap teknologi yang memadai. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, maka tim pengabdian Masyarakat dari Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika menawarkan solusi berupa pendampingan pemanfaatan canva berbasis kecerdasan buatan untuk guru-guru yang ada di Madrasah Aliyah Ahmad Yani Jabung. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 20 orang guru dan berlangsung pada Bulan Februari 2024. Pendampingan dilaksanakan dalam lima tahap: (1) pemaparan materi; (2) praktik; (3) penugasan/ proyek; (4) sharing session; dan (5) evaluasi dan umpan balik. Dari delapan fitur dalam Canva AI yang dipelajari dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, penguasaan guru terhadap Fitur Beat Sync menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor yang paling signifikan yakni sebesar 59 poin.Abstract: Madrasah Aliyah Ahmad Yani Jabung faces various challenges related to the use of technology in learning. One of the main problems faced is the lack of accessibility to adequate technology. To overcome this problem, the Community Service Team from the Mathematics Education Study Program offered a solution in the form of assistance in using artificial intelligence-based Canva for teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Ahmad Yani Jabung. This activity was attended by 20 teachers and took place in February 2024. This event consists of five steps: (1) presentation; (2) practice; (3) assignments/ projects; (4) sharing session; and (5) evaluation and feedback. Of the eight features in Canva AI studied in this community service activity, teachers' mastery of the Beat Sync feature showed the most significant increase in the average score—59 points.

Abstract

Abstrak: Siswa Madrasah Aliyah (MA) NU Karangploso menghadapi tantangan dalam menentukan jurusan studi lanjut yang sesuai minat dan bakat, sehingga keputusan yang diambil sering tidak matang. Pengabdian ini bertujuan mendampingi siswa memilih jurusan berdasarkan minat dan bakat menggunakan teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI). Pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi, workshop, dan tes minat bakat berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI). Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 70 siswa MA NU Karangploso, Kabupaten Malang. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui angket yang berisi 10 pernyataan dalam skala Likert, observasi, dan catatan lapangan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Adapun hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah 95,7% siswa menyatakan lebih mengenal potensi dirinya, 92,85% percaya diri memilih jurusan, dan 90% siswa dapat menyebutkan 2–3 pilihan jurusan yang sesuai minat dan bakat masing-masing. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi Artificial Intelligence dapat membantu siswa membuat keputusan studi yang matang dan sesuai potensi. Abstract: Students at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) NU Karangploso often struggle to choose a major for further studies that aligns with their interests and talents, leading to immature decision-making. This community service aims to help students select majors based on their interests and talents using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The program includes socialization, workshops, and AI-based talent interest test sessions. Seventy students from MA NU Karangploso in Malang Regency participated in the activity. Evaluations were conducted through questionnaires which contains 10 statements in Likert Scale, observation, and field note both before and after the program. The results indicated that 95.7% of students felt they had a better understanding of their potential, 92.85% felt confident in choosing a major, and 90% could identify 2-3 majors that matched their interests and talents. These findings demonstrate that AI technology can effectively assist students in making informed decisions about their studies based on their abilities.

Abstract

The development of modern education requires a paradigm shift in learning from mere knowledge transfer to a meaningful learning process oriented towards conceptual understanding. However, classroom learning practices are still dominated by surface learning that emphasizes memorization rather than deep conceptual understanding. This condition highlights the importance of applying pedagogical approaches that can foster active student involvement in knowledge construction, such as deep learning pedagogy rooted in constructivism principles. This study aims to systematically review various studies examining the relationship between deep learning pedagogy, constructivism, and students' conceptual understanding. The study was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with PRISMA guidelines for articles published in 2021–2025, resulting in 15 relevant articles for thematic analysis. The results show that the integration of deep learning pedagogy and constructivism effectively improves conceptual understanding through project-based, problem-based, and reflective learning. The conclusion of the study confirms that the synergy of these two approaches strengthens the interconnection between concepts, develops critical thinking, and shapes independent and reflective learners in line with the demands of modern education.
