Abstract

Elementary school students' knowledge of local culture is decreasing, even though the importance of preserving local culture is one of the important components to be taught from an early age. One strategy to preserve local wisdom is to integrate it in extracurricular activities at school. The purpose of this study is to describe the efforts to preserve local wisdom carried out in elementary schools through extracurricular activities. The research method used is qualitative with a literature review type using the Publish or Perish application. The characteristics of the literature used are research articles in national and international journals in 2015-2021, with the keywords local wisdom, east java, extracurricular, and elementary school. The findings of the study indicate that local wisdom taught in elementary schools in East Java includes traditional East Javanese dances, musical arts and handicrafts. The strategies used by teachers during extracurricular activities are in the form of direct practice, habituation and telling the meaning and history of local wisdom to students. This activity is not only to develop students' talents and interests, but also as a means of instilling good character education for elementary school students. Students who take part in extracurricular activities based on local wisdom of East Java are also expected to be social agents of preserving local wisdom in the community through art performances to promote local wisdom of East Java. Abstract

This study aims to identify and produce valid information about character education development programs in elementary schools, along with character identification developed from the Gangster Si Cantik program. This is a follow-up on overcoming character education problems that occurred in schools after the pandemic. This is important for conducting this research comprehensively to develop the character of elementary school students. This research used qualitative research with the type of case study to school programs at Dr. Sutomo 5 Surabaya Elementary School, East Java, Indonesia. The study was conducted by collecting data and information through purposive sampling, from 7 respondents consisting of the principal, teachers, and 5 students. The results of the research include the background of the formation of Gangster Si Cantik and character development strategies by Gangster Si Cantik. Based on student and teacher interviews there are good changes in the attitude of friends for the better despite it requiring some time and process. The characters developed through Gangster Si Cantik include caring, cooperation, fairness, honesty, discipline, and peace-loving. The constraints of this program are the limited time when traveling around and the limited number of aspiration boxes. This program is a form of collaboration between principals, teachers, and students in solving character education problems in elementary schools to create a safe and peaceful school environment. Collaboration is essential for future research in every aspect. It is intended that the findings of this study will enhance the practice of character development in elementary schools through scientific references.

Abstract

Title The diverse characteristics of students are a challenge for teachers to accommodate students' learning needs. This problem is also faced by teachers at SD Islam Kota Blitar. The problem faced by these teachers is to design learning that is able to meet the needs of the various characteristics of learning students, both regular and children with special needs. One strategy that can be used to achieve this in the era of Merdeka Belajar is Differentiation Learning. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge and skills in preparing Differentiated Learning Plan for Elementary School teachers. The expected target is 65% of the partners are very satisfied with the guidance that has been carried out by the Team. The data is described through satisfaction surveys and mentoring processes for teachers as training participants. The methods used in this training include providing contextual understanding of understanding student learning styles, learning media focused on student learning styles and learning differences. The training continued with hands-on practice of compiling lesson plans. This training was carried out attractively by observing health protocols. At the end of the activity, it was found that on average 86.755% of the partners were very satisfied with the guidance carried out by the Team. It is hoped that participants will be able to apply the skills they have acquired on an ongoing basis in class

Abstract

Penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka dalam Pendidikan Dasar dibagi menjadi dua kegiatan utama yaitu pembelajaran intrakurikuler dan projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila. Melalui projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila ini diharapkan dapat mendorong peserta didik menjadi pelajar sepanjang hayat yang kompeten, berkarakter, dan berperilaku sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila dengan tema “Gaya Hidup Berkelanjutan” kelas IV di SD Negeri Pepelegi 2 Sidoarjo sebagai bentuk inovasi dari Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk mengamati pelaksanaan proyek termasuk pembagian peran, pembuatan infografis, pembuatan media tanam (POT) dari limbah, hingga menanam dan merawat tanaman TOGA. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa projek ini berhasil mengintegrasikan profil pelajar Pancasila, menanamkan karakter, meningkatkan keterampilan, dan partisipasi aktif peserta didik. Melalui kerja sama antar guru, peserta didik, dan orang tua, projek ini memberikan pengalaman belajar yang holistik dan bermakna sehingga mencerminkan keberhasilan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam meningkatkan karakter dan keterampilan peserta didik.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kepribadian yang berkualitas pada anak-anak, termasuk peserta didik kelas 1. Namun, tantangan dalam menerapkan pendidikan karakter di kelas 1 SDN Pepelegi II Waru adalah kompleksitas dalam memahami kebutuhan dan perkembangan karakter siswa serta kurangnya dukungan dari berbagai pihak terkait. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendidikan karakter di dalam kelas untuk peserta didik kelas 1 SDN Pepelegi II Waru, dengan fokus pada tantangan yang dihadapi, metode yang digunakan, dan hasil yang diperoleh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan observasi dan wawancara. Observasi dilakukan untuk memahami langsung situasi di dalam kelas, sedangkan wawancara dilakukan dengan guru kelas 1A, 1B, dan 1C untuk mendapatkan wawasan mendalam mengenai pendidikan karakter di sekolah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter di kelas 1 SDN Pepelegi II Waru menghadapi berbagai tantangan, termasuk keterbatasan konsentrasi siswa, dukungan orang tua yang bervariasi, dan kurikulum yang terlalu fokus pada aspek akademis. Namun, melalui kolaborasi antara guru, orang tua, dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya, serta inovasi dalam pendekatan pembelajaran karakter, sekolah ini telah berhasil meningkatkan efektivitas pendidikan karakter dan membantu membentuk generasi yang berkarakter dan berintegritas.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the application of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) on the democratic attitudes of fourth grade students at SDN Kertajaya IV Surabaya. The method used in this research is Quasi Experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This study involved two groups of students, namely the experimental group treated using VCT and the control group treated using conventional learning. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to measure students' democratic attitudes before and after treatment. The validity of the instrument was tested through expert judgment and empirical tests, while data analysis was carried out using an independent t test after normality and homogeneity tests were met. The results showed that there was a significant difference in democratic attitudes between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group using VCT showed greater improvement in democratic attitudes than the control group. The average pre-test score of the experimental group was 66.06, which increased to 73.72 in the post-test. While in the control group the average pre-test score was 67.00 and increased slightly to 68.25 in the post-test. Data analysis using the t test showed that the t value was 2.166 with a significance of 0.035 (<0.05), indicating that the use of VCT was significantly more effective in improving students' democratic attitudes than conventional methods. This study concludes that the use of VCT in Civics learning is effective in improving the democratic attitudes of elementary school students. The implementation of VCT can help students understand and internalize democratic values better than conventional learning. Research recommendations include wider application of VCT in Civics education, training for teachers, as well as further research to examine the effectiveness of VCT in various educational contexts.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada para guru di Sekolah Indonesia Davao (SID), Filipina, dalam menyusun modul ajar yang berfokus pada pembelajaran berdiferensiasi sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Salah satu tantangan utama yang teridentifikasi adalah minimnya pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan individual siswa. Pelaksanaan Pk Mini dilakukan secara tatap muka, dengan menerapkan pendekatan pelatihan itensif yang menggabungkan sesi langsung dan pendambingan secara daring. Melalui pelatihan ini, terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep serta kemampuan teknik guru dalam Menyusun modul ajar yang berdiferensiasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mencakup modul ajar yang dibuat oleh para guru, artikel ilmiah yang mendokumentasikan proses dan hasil kegiatan, video sebagai dokumentasi visual, serta publikasi di media massa untuk menyebarluaskan informasi kepada Masyarakat luas.

Abstract

Objects tourism in premises increasingly growing and provide impacts positively on the economy of the community. The existence of tourist attractions can also contribute to the world of education, especially as a source of learning. Purpose research is the exploration use of tourism attractions in learning in Elementary School Education. The method of research that is used is research qualitative study of the case. The data collection technique used two steps, namely questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The participants were 89 elementary school teachers in 6 cities of East Java who filled out a questionnaire and 12 people were willing to do semi-structured interviews. The findings in this study are 59% of teachers use the type of natural tourism object in learning, 55% of teachers choose tourism objects based on teaching materials, 55% of teachers use tours to make learning more fun, and 52% of teachers explain the obstacles to learning by utilizing these attractions come from costs. The study is expected to give a contribution positive to the development of learning that is based on experience in the School Elementary with tourism objects. This study also emphasizes the importance of providing effective learning resources for social studies learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of cross-cultural learning experiences in strengthening the competencies of prospective primary school teachers in the global era. The purpose of this study was to explore the learning experiences of bilingual students in the Elementary Teacher Education Study (ETE) Programme who participated in off-campus learning programmes in three countries, namely Taiwan, the Philippines, and Thailand. A phenomenological approach was used to understand the meaning of students' learning experiences in different cultural and educational environments. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of relevant documents, then analysed using the Miles and Huberman model. Five bilingual students took part in this study through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results showed that off-campus learning experiences had a significant impact on improving students' language skills, cultural adaptation abilities, and pedagogical understanding. Students also revealed that this experience broadened their knowledge of innovative learning methods, improved their cross-cultural communication skills, and strengthened their competencies as prospective educators. These findings have important implications for the development of curricula and educational policies that support cross-cultural learning for Elementary Teacher Education students.
