Abstract

Fifth-grade students at MI Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang demonstrate low comprehension in Arabic reading, struggling to identify main ideas, form conclusions, and retell narratives in their language. This suggests that their maharah qiraah, or reading proficiency, is underdeveloped. The Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) method provides a structured approach to enhance their reading comprehension by aiding in understanding text, answering questions, and drawing conclusions from the reading material. This study aims to: 1) Assess the level of comprehension before and after implementing the QAR method at MI Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang, and 2) Evaluate the efficacy of the QAR method in improving the maharah qiraah of the fifth-grade students. Utilizing a quantitative approach with an actual experiment, this research employs purposive sampling for two classes, V-A and V-B. The analytical approach incorporates descriptive research, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. Findings suggest that post-QAR method intervention, there is a marked improvement in Arabic learning in the experimental class, as evidenced by significant post-test score increases, enhanced ability to form conclusions, interpret complex words in the text, and explain acquired values from the reading. Descriptive analysis results show that the average pretest score in the experimental class was 66, increasing to 76 post-intervention. Conversely, the control class averaged pretest scores of 58, with a minor increase to 62 post-intervention. These results indicate the experimental class's superior performance and significant improvement compared to the control class, demonstrating the effectiveness of the QAR method in Arabic reading comprehension.

Abstract

Arabic is a language with a uslub style (grammar) which has a high degree of comparison with other languages. Aesthetics and authenticity in Arabic need to be studied in depth, especially in the discussion of balaghah science, to understand the appropriateness of the intended meaning. Expert of balaghah provides many lughowiyah studies related to the oral of the Arabs. The purpose of connotation or majaz in balaghah science is feared to cause a misunderstanding of the meaning desired by the mutakalim. Therefore, analysis and research to examine sentences with purposes are necessary to assist in directing mustami' or qori' to the intended meaning of mutakalim. This research uses the library method by collecting references from books and journals. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a description of the analysis. Data collection was carried out using balaghah books, then processed and analyzed in stages until they understood each sub-discussion. The results showed that majaz was mainly found in the mouth of the Arabs. Majaz is classified in various forms, one of which is isti'arah majaz based on the mulaim or compatibility between musyabbah and musyabbah bih with qorinah or lafadz after it. There are three kinds of isti'arah based on the mulaim: isti'arah murasysyah, mujarrodah, and muthlaqah.

Abstract

The Total Physical Response (TPR) learning method was developed by James J. Asher. He argues that direct pronunciation to children or students contains an order, and then children or students will respond physically before producing verbal or speech responses. The aims of this study were (1) to find out how far speaking skills (mahārat al-kalām) in Arabic have increased through the TPR method in MTsN 4 Jombang, and (2) to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in increasing mahārat al-kalām through the TPR method in MTsN 4 Jombang. This research method uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation, and oral tests. The data analysis technique uses data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that (1) with the TPR learning method, the final test score of Arabic learning for mahārat al-kalām in cycle 1 was 74.3% (good). After being given referrals again in cycle 2, it reached 87.6% (very good); (2) The supporting factors that influence speaking activities are language (linguistics) and non-linguistics, while the inhibiting factors are more dominant due to a lack of vocabulary (mufradāt) mastery.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the problem that often arises in learning is that students' understanding of the material is still low, as evidenced by student learning outcomes that are still low. This is certainly not caused by the common knowledge of students alone. Still, many factors that influence one of them are the learning process that is less qualified, human resources in the form of unprofessional teachers so that students' abilities will also be low. If this continues, the output of human resources resulting from learning in Indonesia will not be able to compete with countries that are both developing. This study aims to reveal in more depth the application of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning model in improving the quality of Balaghah learning at MAN 3 Jombang, with the focus of the discussion as follows 1) Planning of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) models in improving the quality of Balaghah learning at MAN 3 Jombang, (2) the quality of Balaghah learning as the output of the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model at MAN 3 Jombang. This research uses a qualitative approach, with the type of case study research in schools. Data collection was done by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was done through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are 1) Planning the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Model, there are three stages; first, the introduction is to see the suitability of essential competencies with methods, materials, models, media, and learning resources. Second, implementation is the student centre learning process through several stages of learning. Third, the teacher evaluates the students. 2) The quality of Balaghah learning as the output of applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model at MAN 3 Jombang is related to teacher learning behaviour, student learning behaviour, impact, learning climate, learning materials, and learning media

Meanwhile, data analysis used descriptive statistics, sample t-test, and the N-Gain test. From the results of this study, it was obtained 1) The SAVI learning model was effective in increasing students' interest in learning. The results of the independent sample t-test (2-tailed) < 0.05, which is 0.000; 2) The SAVI learning model is less effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. The N-Gain result for the experimental class is 59%; 3) There is an influence between the SAVI learning model on students' learning interest, the results of Sig (2-tailed) < 0.05, which is equal to 0.000, while the SAVI learning model has no influence on students' critical thinking skills, the results of Sig (2-tailed) > 0.05, namely of 0.903.
