Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of comic strips in teaching recount text writing to eighth-grade students of MTS Nurul Jamil Bombana based on a scientific approach.  The research was conducted in Class VIII A. This study was action research. It was conducted in two cycles, from 8th April to 14th April 2021. The steps of the research were reconnaissance, planning, action and observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research were 20 students of the VIII A class. The data collected were in the form of qualitative data. The qualitative data were gained from observation, interviews, and documents. There were four steps in analysing the data: Data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion/verification. The result of the research indicated that the implementation of Comic Strips based on the scientific approach was effective, and the comic strip improved the students’ learning process in writing recount texts. The students could generate ideas, and they could write recount texts in the correct form based on the criteria of effective writing skills.

Abstract

Crab is one of the coastal fisheries resources that has high economic value and has been intensively utilized. This study aims to analyze the size of the carapace width and weight of the S. serrata crab. The research was conducted using the survey method, through measurement at the crab landing and marketing site. The results showed that the carapace width of male mud crabs ranged from 59.1-149.3 mm (87.35 ± 12.36 mm), with weights ranging from 30.0-560 g (121.68 ± 46.11 g). Female mud crabs had carapace widths ranging from 64.0-172 mm (88.16 ± 14.24 mm), with weights ranging from 40.0-790 g (128.14 ± 64.20 g). The growth pattern of male and female mud crabs is negative allometric, with carapace width increasing faster than crab weight. Crabs that meet the size that can be caught based on carapace width are 13 crabs (2.32%) and based on weight are 118 crabs (21.03%). The crabs caught predominantly did not meet the catchable size. Keywords: Carapace Width; Catchable Size; Growth Pattern of Scylla serrata; Weight

Abstract

The Aceh government has implemented Islamic Sharia regulations by enacting Qanun Aceh Number 7 of 2013 concerning Jinayat Procedural Law, and Article 262 contains provisions regarding the implementation of flogging in public places. However, according to Article 30 Paragraph (3) of the Aceh Governor Regulation Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Jinayah Procedural Law, the execution of flogging is restricted to prisons and detention centers. This study aims to outline the legal arguments for shifting the implementation of flogging in Aceh and the Islamic legal provisions related to carrying out flogging in public places. This research uses a normative legal method with a statute approach that refers to the concept of law as a rule and also uses Islamic legal doctrine, which is then analyzed qualitatively and described descriptively to find the alignment between the core issues and the normative provisions. The results of the research show that the main reason for issuing the Governor's Regulation regarding the implementation of flogging in prisons is to increase investment, as the implementation of flogging in Aceh has faced opposition from external parties. However, the issuance of the Governor's Regulation contradicts the system of forming legislation in Indonesia and legally lacks legal force. According to Islamic law provisions, the execution of flogging must be witnessed by a group of believers, as explained in the Quran, Surah An-Nur, verse 2. The implementation of flogging in prisons cannot be witnessed, whereas this is an integral part of the agreed implementation of flogging. There needs to be a specific and easily accessible location for the public as a place to carry out flogging penalties.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: The re-emergence of Monkeypox poses significant public health challenges in Indonesia. This disease continues to spread due to its zoonotic nature and the high frequency of human-animal interactions. This study aims to model the transmission dynamics of Monkeypox using the SIQR (Susceptible, Infectious, Quarantined, Recovered) framework and apply optimal control strategies through the Pantryagin Maximum Principle (PMP). Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health were utilised for model parameterisation, with numerical simulations conducted using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. Control strategies included quarantine, tecovirimat, and public education. The simulation results revealed that implementing optimal control reduced the infected population by up to 75% within the first 10 months compared to scenarios without control. The basic reproduction number () was successfully reduced from 2.5 to below 1, indicating that the outbreak was controlled. Additionally, the recovery rate increased by 30%, with the susceptible population achieving a disease-free equilibrium by the eighth month. These findings highlight that mathematically-driven interventions can provide effective solutions for managing infectious diseases. It is recommended that these strategies be integrated into public health policies to optimise resource allocation. Further research is necessary to evaluate the scalability of this approach for other zoonotic diseases.

Abstract

This study examines the SIQR mathematical model by applying the Pontryagin Maximum Principle (PMP) and the 6th order Runge-Kutta (RK6) numerical solution to the spread of Monkeypox in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze and simulate the dynamics of the spread of Monkeypox and identify optimal control strategies that are effective in suppressing the rate of infection. This study has a population of 283,487,843 individuals. The results of this study show the effectiveness of implementing optimal control in reducing the spread of Monkeypox in the region. This study makes a significant contribution to the development of more efficient and targeted health policies in dealing with Monkeypox outbreaks, and offers valuable insights for future infectious disease control strategies.
