Abstract

Language style or what we know as rhetoric is style. Language style is a distinctive way of expressing thoughts and feelings in written or oral form. Even though the choice of diction is correct, if the language style used is not interesting, then the diction is useless. This research aims to describe the rhetoric, diction and language style in the Rintik Sedu Podcast "We are Forgotten". The primary data source in this research is the Rintik Sedu podcast episode "Aku Yang Terlupa" which was then listened to and then recorded into a transcript. As for secondary data sources, this research uses books and journals related to rhetoric and those related to research conducted. The method in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection technique in this research uses documentation techniques, notes, books and transcripts. The results of the first research show that the language styles used by the Rintik Sedu Podcast Host consist of simple language styles and intermediate language styles. Second, the diction used by the host of the Rintik Sedu Podcast consists of connotative diction and denotative diction.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Curriculum is a learning program that is designed and implemented to achieve the goal of success in certain learning. Therefore, in organizing education, a flexible concept is needed that can be adjusted to changes in the times. This study discusses the concept of curriculum that refers to the Islamic Education curriculum, with a focus on the definition, the role of the education curriculum on students' morals, and the characteristics it has. The curriculum at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Blitar, East Java, which applies moral education to students at the Islamic boarding school, which makes students have noble morals. This study uses a qualitative research method that focuses on an in-depth understanding of social phenomena from the perspective of people involved in the situation of students who have good morals at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Blitar, East Java. Data collection was carried out by means of in-depth interviews with teachers and instructors at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Blitar. The results of this study indicate that the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School has two curriculum, namely the salaf curriculum and the kholaf curriculum. Teachers and lecturers at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Blitar understand the concept of curriculum and the demands of their students to implement the values ??of the books they have studied, one of the Ta'lim Muta'alim books. In assessing the morals of students, the suri tauladan method is used, which emphasizes exemplary behavior in attitudes and behavior. Learning evaluations are carried out at the end of each academic year through teacher and lecturer meetings to assess the development of students and the effectiveness of teachers. The success of this Islamic boarding school is also reflected in the alumni who have succeeded in establishing a science council to channel their knowledge in the community. ABSTRAK Kurikulum adalah program pembelajaran yang dirancang dan diterapkan untuk mencapai tujuan keberhasilan dalam pembelajaran tertentu. Oleh karena itu, dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan, diperlukan sebuah konsep yang fleksibel dan dapat disesuaikan dengan perubahan zaman. Penelitian ini membahas konsep kurikulum yang mengacu pada kurikulum Pendidikan Islam, dengan fokus pada definisi, peran kurikulum pendidikan pada akhlak siswa, serta karakteristik yang dimilikinya. Kurikulum yang terdapat pada pondok pesantren Mambaul Ulum Blitar, Jawa Timur yang menerapkan pendidikan akhlak kepada siswa di pesantren, yang menjadikan siswa berakhlak mulia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitan kualitatif yang berfokus pada pemahaman mendalam tentang fenomena sosial             dari perspektif orang-orang yang terlibat dalam situasi siswa yang mempunya akhlak yang baik                         pada pondok pesantren Mambaul Ulum Blitar, Jawa Timur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara yang mendalam kepada guru dan pengajar di pondok pesantren Mambaul Ulum, Blitar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren Mambaul Ulum memiliki dua kurikulum, yakni kurikulum salaf dan kurikulum kholaf. Guru dan pengajar di Pondok Pesantren Mambaul Ulum, Blitar memahami konsep kurikulum dan menuntut para santrinya untuk mengimplementasikan nilai-nilai dari kitab yang sudah dipelajari, salah satu kitab Ta’lim Muta’alim. Dalam penilaian akhlak santri, digunakan metode suri tauladan, yang menekankan keteladaan dalam sikap dan perilaku. Evaluasi pembelajaran dilakukan setiap akhir tahun ajaran melalui pertemuan guru dan pengajar guna menilai perkembangan santri dan efektivitas pengajar. Keberhasilan pesantren ini juga tercermin dari alumni yang berhasil mendirikan majlis ilmu untuk menyalurkan ilmu mereka di lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the interference of Javanese language emphasis on Indonesian and to determine the factors that cause Javanese language interference to Indonesian. This study discusses the interference of Javanese emphasis on Indonesian and the factors that cause interference of Javanese emphasis on Indonesian through a case study via WhatsApp. This study examines language interference because Indonesia is a language community that has its own characteristics. From the language community, there is often a linguistic phenomenon in the form of language interference. This study uses a qualitative method by explaining the problem through information obtained from sources regarding the error in the emphasis of the Javanese language used. The data in this study are in the form of voice recordings containing the emphasis of Javanese on Indonesian. The instrument of this research used online interviews. Sources of data obtained from interviews using the technique of provocation to obtain information in the form of errors in the emphasis of the Javanese language on the Indonesian language. The data in this study were collected using the listening and note-taking technique. The results of this study indicate that there are several interferences in the emphasis of the Javanese language on Indonesian, which come from errors at the phonological level, morphological level errors, and errors at the semantic level. The interference of Javanese emphasis on Indonesian is caused by several factors, namely the social environment in which they live, the existence of bilingualism by speakers of the language, and improving language skills by speakers.

Abstract

A person's speaking style is a manifestation of various individual characteristics that influence the way they convey messages and influence their listeners. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The data source for this research is Ustadzah Halimah Alaydrus's Da'wah Vlog entitled "The World is Still Beautiful as Long as There is a Rasulullah". Data collection techniques in this research used listening and note-taking techniques. This research aims to explore various aspects of Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus' speech style and language style in the context of argument formation, emotional expression, and influence on public opinion on the YouTube platform. The primary focus is to understand how these rhetorical elements play a role in conveying important messages effectively.Keywords: Rhetoric, Style of Speech, Style of Language

Abstract

The Syrian crisis, which began in 2011 and continues to influence global politics, offers a key case for examining American power. This article explores the ideological and discursive foundations of U.S. involvement, situating it within American Exceptionalism and analyzing it through a Foucauldian framework. The study combines a normative legal approach with critical discourse analysis, drawing on primary sources such as the UN Charter, Security Council resolutions, and U.S. policy documents, along with secondary literature and think-tank reports. Findings show that U.S. intervention is framed through narratives of democracy promotion, humanitarian protection, and global security, which serve to legitimize action. Using Foucault’s concepts of power/knowledge, governmentality, and biopolitics, the study demonstrates that the U.S. not only exercises military force but also shapes global perceptions and constructs regimes of truth. From a transnational legal perspective, these actions reveal tensions between sovereignty and humanitarian imperatives and highlight gaps and asymmetries in international law. The article is novel in integrating ideology, sovereignty, and human rights to show how U.S. actions in Syria reshape the interpretation and application of international law.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the processes and challenges experienced by students of the Indonesian Education study program in utilizing Canva as a learning medium in PjBL. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method with thematic interviews and data analysis techniques. This research not only explores the processes and challenges but also relates to the TPACK framework. The results show that students have been familiar with Canva since high school and that the frequency of use increases as the semester rate increases. Canva's use of media is considered to help in planning creative, efficient, and collaborative project outcomes. However, several challenges in its use still arise, especially those related to unstable Internet connections, weak coordination between group members, and limited premium access. These findings confirm that the use of Canva not only enriches students' learning experiences but also demonstrates the integration of technology, pedagogy, and content elements as described in the Pedagogical Knowledge and Technology Content (TPACK) framework. Through this integration, students learn to balance technological skills with pedagogical understanding and learning materials. Overall, Canva's implementation in PjBL contributes to strengthening 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy. This study recommends increasing digital infrastructure support and learning technology training for students so that the use of Canva in PjBL can be more optimal and sustainable.

Abstract

Perpustakaan memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi, termasuk bagi mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (PBSI) semester 3 di UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kontribusi perpustakaan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan akademik mahasiswa melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan memberikan manfaat signifikan, seperti menyediakan koleksi literatur yang relevan, ruang belajar yang nyaman, dan fasilitas pendukung, seperti komputer dan akses digital. Namun, terdapat tantangan berupa keterbatasan terhadap koleksi buku, kapasitas ruang baca yang kurang memadai, serta masalah aksesibilitas fasilitas komputer. Mahasiswa berharap terdapat peningkatan koleksi literatur, penambahan ruang belajar, dan pengembangan layanan digital untuk mendukung kebutuhan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya perpustakaan sebagai pusat sumber informasi yang adaptif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan akademik mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia (PBSI).

Abstract

The research aims to look at the rhetoric used by Retno Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, in her speech at the UN session discussing the conflict between Palestine and Israel. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data source of this research is a video of Retno Marsudi's speech on the Kompas TV Sukabumi YouTube channel. The objects of this research are ethos, logos, and pathos in the rhetorical argumentation of Retno Marsudi's speech. The results of this study show that Retno Marsudi as a communicator who succeeded in creating good communication in front of the audience. The evidence of rhetoric in Retno Marsudi's speech, namely having (1) ethos (character); she has a good personal character so that her speech argumentation is accepted by some members of the Council present at the UN 2024 session, and a sense of empathy and concern for the Palestinian people, (2) pathos (emotional bond); He was able to create a good emotional bond by using affirmative sentences and empathetic sentences that he conveyed, and (3) logos (logical/reasonable); his argument was considered reasonable by some members of the Council because he emphasized that the threat of Israeli attacks on Palestinians who had lost the lives of 25 thousand people. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat retorika yang digunakan oleh Retno Marsudi, Menteri Luar Negeri Indonesia dalam pidatonya pada sidang PBB yang membahas konflik antara Palestina dan Israel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini berupa video pidato Retno Marsudi dalam kanal YouTube Kompas TV Sukabumi. Objek penelitian ini adalah ethos, logos, dan pathos pada argumentasi retorika berpidato Retno Marsudi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Retno Marsudi sebagai seorang komunikator yang berhasil menciptakan komunikasi yang baik di depan khalayak. Adapun bukti retorika dalam pidato Retno Marsudi, yaitu memiliki (1) ethos (karakter); ia memiliki karakter pribadi yang baik sehingga argumentasi pidatonya diterima oleh sebagian anggota Dewan yang hadir dalam sidang PBB 2024, dan rasa empati serta keprihatinan kepada rakyat Palestina, (2) pathos (ikatan emosional); ia mampu menciptakan ikatan emosional yang baik dengan menggunakan kalimat-kalimat penegasan serta kalimat empati yang disampaikannya, dan (3) logos (logis/masuk akal); argumentasinya dianggap masuk akal oleh sebagian anggota Dewan karena ia menegaskan bahwa ancaman serangan Israel kepada Palestina yang telah merenggang nyawa 25 ribu orang.Keywords: Ethos, logos, pathos, pidato Retno Marsudi, Konflik Palestina-Israel

Abstract

Technology is developing very rapidly, so current technological developments have a big influence on human development. Currently, many educators are using technology as a learning medium that supports effective student learning, one of which is the Quizzzz application. Quizizz is used by teachers as a medium for assessing or evaluating student understanding. This research aims to determine the role of the Quizizz application as a learning medium that presents interesting features and the effectiveness of using the application. This study used the descriptive-qualitative method. The technique used in this research is listening to and recording the results of high school students' questionnaire data. The results of the research show that (1) the use of the Quizizz application as a learning medium used by teachers in assessments or evaluations to measure students' learning abilities is very effective. (2) The effectiveness of the use of the Quizizz application is appropriate and utilized to provide learning motivation for high school students. (3) The obstacle for students in using the Quizizz application is that they require a good internet connection; for this, they need an area that has a good internet connection. (4) Students' impressions and messages from using the Quizizz application, namely that the features in it attract students' attention and that it is very easy to use.
