Abstract

The interaction that occurs between warfarin and antibiotics is a pharmacokinetic interaction which cause bleeding. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the use of cephalosporins and an increase in APTT and PT in cardiovascular patients. This retrospective observational study employs case-control analysis to examine APTT and PT features in cardiovascular patients receiving single anticoagulant or anticoagulant + cephalosporin therapy for the period JulyDecember 2020. The sampling method used in this study is a convenient sampling method that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Analysis of the data used is Logistic Regression. The study found among 65 male and 15 female, 40 patients used anticoagulant, and another 40 patients used anticoagulant and cephalosporine. Among 40 patients who used combination anticoagulant and cephalosporin, 22 of them had experienced of increasing APTT and PT. Cephalosporins showed a significant correlation with APTT and PT, with a P-value of 0.015. From this study, it can be concluded that the use of cephalosporins increases in APTT and PT values in cardiovascular patients who are given anticoagulant drugs and cephalosporins

Abstract

Vaccination is the right method to deal with the increasing number of infections due to COVID-19. One method for assessing the effectiveness of a vaccine is by using a questionnaire. This pilot study was conducted to assess the validity and reliability of the Pfizer booster vaccine effectiveness questionnaire in Indonesia. The pilot study was carried out cross-sectionally using a new questionnaire that had not been tested for validity and reliability. The validity test of the questionnaire was carried out using the modified Delphi method which 3 professional will determine whether the questionnaire is valid to be used while in reliability analysis using inter reliability consistency analysis with score not less than  < 0.3. Based on the collected data, there are 25 (62.5%) female respondents and 15 (37.5%) male respondents. With the age of majority <30 years as many as 37 (92.5%) respondents, <45 as many as 2 (5%) respondents and >45 as many as 1 (2.5%) person.. In the validity test, 3 experts stated that the questionnaire is considered to be valid and suitable for use in research. Before checking the inter reliability consistency there were 50 questions but after the analysis only 12 questions were considered reliable to be used with Cronbach's alpha score 0.797. Of the 12 questions, there were 3 questions on sociodemography, 3 questions on side effects, 4 questions on allergy history, and 2 questions on data regarding history of COVID-19 infection. It can be concluded that the questions are considered valid by 3 experts and has 12 reliable questions in this questionnaire with Cronbach's alpha of 0.797.  Although it functions as a pilot study for questionnaire development, its significance lies in the potential to enhance our understanding of the various factors that impact the effectivness of the pfizer booster vaccine, specifically within the Indonesian population.Keyword: Cronbach’s Alpha, Pfizer, Reliability, Vaccines, Validity

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the understanding and skills of the coastal community in Muaragembong in utilizing the potential of the pidada mangrove (Sonneratia sp.) for health products. Despite its significant health benefits, including antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, the utilization of pidada mangrove by the local community remains limited. This program was conducted through socialization, training, and hands-on workshops, educating participants on how to process pidada mangrove into health products such as herbal drinks, supplements, and skincare items. Before the training, only 28% of participants were aware of the health benefits of pidada mangrove, but after the training, 87% demonstrated a strong understanding of the topic. Post-training assessments showed a significant increase in knowledge, with the average quiz score rising from 45% to 89%. The majority of participants acknowledged that they had gained a better understanding of the potential of pidada mangrove and felt confident in developing small-scale products based on this resource. This program not only improves the community's health but also provides economic opportunities through the sustainable use of natural resources, thereby supporting mangrove ecosystem conservation.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is an abnormality of kidney function and structure, where the glomerular filtration rate is less than 60 mL/min/1.73 m² and kidney damage lasts more than 3 months. The purpose of the study was to clarify the relationship between the length of hemodialysis with Hemoglobin and Creatinine in Hemodialysis patients. The research design used was prospective and retrospective cohort. Retrospective for the period January 2022-January 2023, while for the prospective period February-April 2024. The sample size in this study using convinienvce sampling technique was 259. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between the length of hemodialysis with hemoglobin and creatinine levels with a P-value of 0.001 <0.05.

Abstract

The effects of COVID-19 vaccination on conventional cardiovascular risk rankings for heart disease patients after inoculation need further investigation especially within Southeast Asian medical settings. The research explored hypertension effects on clinical results in CHD patients after receiving COVID-19 vaccinations at a Jakarta referral hospital in Indonesia. Research investigators conducted an observational cohort study by gathering retrospective and prospective data from January 2022 until May 2024. The clinical investigation evaluated 110 vaccinated patients who had CHD while examining population characteristics, blood pressure status, and their ultimate outcomes between survival and fatal termination. The research included statistical methods that combined Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests for categorical data analysis along with t-tests for age analysis, one-way ANOVA for subgroup analysis, Pearson correlation and binary logistic regression.. Out of the 110 patients screened for hypertension the condition was observed in 93.6%. Among hypertensive patients survival rates reached 91.3% whereas non-hypertensive patients demonstrated survival rates of 57.1% (p = 0.027). Age proved significant as a predictor of mortality and recovery duration through continuous analysis (p = 0.035; β = 0.42, p = 0.002) even though results were non-significant when patients were grouped as <60 and ≥60 years (p = 1.000). The analysis from logistic regression showed that hypertension worked as a positive predictor for patient survival with an OR of 5.33 (95% CI: 1.02–27.79) and p = 0.047. The vaccine acts as an acute disease protector yet changes but does not completely eliminate existing cardiovascular disease susceptibilities.

Abstract

Children with special needs (ABK) are children with different characteristics from children in general who have significant abnormalities (mental-intellectual, physical, social and emotional). This study aims to evaluate the treatment received by children with special needs in South Sumatra. This is a cross-sectional survey conducted among students at SLB South Sumatra using a self-administered questionnaire. The sampling technique was done by convenience sampling. From the results of this study, it is known that there are 53 males and 43 females. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the treatment received by children with special needs, namely DHA (Omega-3) + Vitamin B Complex as many as 20 people (37%) by 20% was influenced by most of those who took medication at the age of 11-15 years. There is a significant relationship between treatment and intelligence level which is indicated by a p-value of 0.02, which shows that 7 people (7%) are good and 89 people (93%). It is also known that there is a significant relationship between comorbidities and treatment, which is indicated by significant p-value (P < 0.001), 35 people (37%), and 61 people (63%). DHA (Omega-3) is the most widely given supplement to students with special needs at the age of 11-15, and only a few students receive depakote (Divalproex Sodium) and multivitamins including Vitamin A, B complex and Vitamin C with an average moderate level of intelligence. This is influenced by comorbidities such as epilepsy.
