Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Develop Canva-based comic media for instructing Civics on the topic of rights and obligations. 2) Determine the feasibility of Canva-based comic media according to material and media expert validators. 3) Determine the practicality of Canva-based comic media based on teacher and student responses. 4) Determine the effectiveness of using Canva-based comic media based on student pretest and posttest results. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4-D development model. The subjects of this research were 52 fourth-grade students from Ngrukeman Elementary School and Kadipiro 2 Elementary School. Data were collected through observation, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis involved assessing the feasibility, practicality, effectiveness of the developed media. The results of the feasibility test by material and media experts were 96% and 87,67%, respectively, indicating that the Canva-based comic media is highly feasible to use. The practicality test results showed the teacher responses 82,17% and student responses 93,92%, which showed that Canva-based comic media was in the very practical category. Additionally, the effectiveness test results showed an average pretest score of 64,04 and a posttest score of 84,90. The pretest results obtained an average value of 64.04, while the posttest results obtained an average value of 84.90. The paired sample t-test results showed a sig. (2 tailed) < 0.05, which is 0.00, indicating a significant difference between learning outcomes in the pretest and posttest data. Therefore, it can be concluded that this Canva-based comic media is effective for use in learning civics lessons on the topic of rights and obligations.

Abstract

This study aims to find out about children's language acquisition towards children's language development at the age of 8 years. The purpose of this study is to analyze children's language acquisition at the age of 8 years who experience a phase of speech delay on their language development.  Researchers use qualitative research, and this type of research natural observation method involves observing and recording certain behaviors, situations, or events, without direct interaction with the subject. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with natural observation methods. Acquisition techniques methods in this observation used 3 ways, namely interview techniques, experiments, and observations. Based on the results of data analysis, children’s language skills are influenced by the first language obtained and environmental factors that children live in. Another factor that affects children's language acquisition is the child's fluency factor, this is the cause of delayed language acquisition in children. Based on the results of the study, language development in children is influenced by the child's language acquisition process. The role of parents is quite important in this aspect of children's language development

Abstract

This research aims to analyze language acquisition in children, obtained directly and supported by several factors, such as internal factors from both parents. The initial language acquisition in children is found and obtained from their mother. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques employed are observation and interviews. The research subject is a five-year-old male child. The results of the study indicate that the initial language acquisition in a five-year-old child is obtained through interactions with their mother. At this age, the child can utter several words and sentences commonly used in their communication with family and friends. However, the language proficiency of the five-year-old is somewhat unclear in terms of the original words and sentences. Interactions in the child's environment influence language proficiency and vocabulary knowledge. The child uses both Indonesian and a mixture of regional languages in daily communication, both at home and at school. The child acquires new knowledge about various words through school, reading books, and watching videos on YouTube.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the acquisition process of five year old children using descriptive qualitative methodology. This research method is used to thoroughly describe how 5 year old children acquire knowledge, abilities and values in their development. This research collects data through observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of relevant documents. This research involved children aged five years, their parents, and teachers who took formal or informal education. After that, the data collected was analyzed qualitatively by considering patterns, themes and contexts of children's learning. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a complete picture of the acquisition process for five year old children. These findings may also provide parents, educators, and researchers with insight into the factors that influence five-year-olds' learning, so they can improve their teaching and support methods.

Abstract

Parents have a role in assisting their children in completing developmental tasks, including the development of language skills. Every action and spoken word of parents in the family and social environment will influence the child's language development. This research aims to describe the importance of the role of parents in the early language development of children in Kulon Progo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with analysis using the model by Miles and Huberman. The instrument used in this research is interviews. The subjects of this study are parents with children aged 0-6 years, and 2 individuals were determined as subjects. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents significantly influences the language development of children. The motivation of parents in developing their children's language abilities can affect and accelerate language development. Guidance or teaching provided by parents in a directed manner will align with the child's age, making language development easier and more controlled as the child grows older. The child's language proficiency is enhanced when parents consistently provide encouragement using something that aids the child's language development. Additionally, the environmental conditions also play a crucial role in the language development of children. A conducive environment fosters and guides children, making it easier for them to develop good and correct language skills.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to support the activities of Kombel Muga Berkemajuan at Muhammadiyah 3 Junior High School Yogyakarta and to strengthen teacher professionalism, particularly in reflective capacity and classroom innovation. The program was carried out using the Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) approach, emphasizing collaborative planning, classroom implementation, and shared reflection. A qualitative descriptive method was applied, with data obtained through classroom observations, reflective discussions, and documentation analysis. The implementation consisted of three main stages: identifying partner readiness, preparing mentoring activities, and conducting LSLC cycles (plan–do–see). The findings show that the LSLC activities encouraged teachers to engage in more evidence-based reflection when analyzing teaching and learning processes. Teachers also began experimenting with contextual, problem-based, and text-based lesson designs that contributed to richer classroom discussions across Mathematics, Social Studies, and Indonesian Language. Kombel Muga Berkemajuan gradually developed into a more functional professional learning community, with collaboration becoming part of teachers’ routine practice. Challenges observed included limited time, instructional resources, and difficulties in applying differentiated instruction. These challenges indicate the need for continued mentoring and capacity building. Overall, the program highlights the potential of LSLC to support teacher professionalism and strengthen collaborative culture in Muhammadiyah schools.

Abstract

Guru perlu melakukan inovasi pembelajaran untuk menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, dinamis penuh semangat dan tantangan. Kenyataan rancangan pembelajaran dianggap menjadi beban guru, hingga menyebabkan guru kurang fokus dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna. Sebagian besar guru termasuk di SD Muhammadiyah Pakem lebih memilih model pembelajaran konvesional yakni ceramah dan penugasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan inovasi pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh guru kelas. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh guru sebagai acuan untuk memperbaiki diri dalam menerapkan metode pembelajarannya menjadi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna, serta mengoptimalkan kemampuan belajar peserta didik dengan pendekatan berbasis aset. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan prasiklus, siklus 1 dan 2. Guru mencoba metode pendekatan berbasis aset untuk merancang pembelajaran.didampingi oleh kepala sekolah sebagai rekan lesson study (penilai luar yang independen). Hasilnya diperoleh pendekatan berbasis aset dapat mengorganisasikan kompetisi dan sumberdaya yang dimiliki, tidak fokus pada kekurangan tetapi berpikir tentang kesuksesan yang telah diraih dan kekuatan untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive teaching materials based on the LexGo game oriented toward the PASS early reading learning model for elementary school students. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D development model, which consists of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects included expert validators as well as lower-grade students and teachers from two elementary schools. The instruments used were validation sheets and response questionnaires from students and teachers, and the data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis to determine the feasibility and practicality of the product. The results showed that the developed teaching materials achieved a very high level of feasibility, with validation scores of 94.23% from teaching material experts, 90% from material experts, and 87.5% from educational practitioners. Furthermore, the practicality test indicated very practical results based on student responses of 85.21% and 85.76%, as well as teacher responses of 88.50% and 89.25% in each school. Therefore, the LexGo game-based interactive teaching materials are considered feasible and practical for early reading instruction and can effectively support the learning process in elementary schools.
