Abstract

One of the factors causing excess nutritional status in female adolescent (FA) is due to the lack of fiber consumption. The West Sumatra Riskesdas 2019: 82.53% of adolescents in Padang consume less fiber and the prevalence of overweight among FA is higher than male adolescents of 16.45%. Some literature states that one of the interventions to increase the awareness and motivate the FA to consume fiber is nutrition education (NE) by using attractive media. E-module is one of the attractive media and frequently used in the learning process. The material presentation is not merely focus on the text, picture, and graphic, however it is also presenting audio, animation, and video. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of NE using e-module media toward the fiber intake in overweight FA. This is a mix (R&D and quasi-experiment) research methods of one group pretest and posttest with control designs. The research subjects were all female students at research target schools who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data instrument used the SQ-FFQ form. The data analysis is using a Mann Whitney test. The results of the study explained that the designed nutritional e-module obtained an average validation value namely 90.5% and the practical value of the overall was 92.83%. The results of the Man Whitney test showed that there was an effect of NE with the e-module and it was very effective toward the change of fiber intake for overweight FA in Padang p-value 0.017 (p<0.05).

Abstract

This article discusses the needs analysis of the teachers and students towards the development of a multiple-representation-based blended learning Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) used in chemistry learning. The subjects of this study consisted of 15 chemistry teachers in Central Java and 34 high school students in class XII IPA. Primary data were obtained by providing teacher questionnaires consisting of the characteristics of reaction rates material, the use of learning media that are usually used, and students' critical thinking skills and learning using SSP blended learning based on multiple representations. While the student questionnaire consists of students' interests and learning methods in understanding chemical material, students' opinions regarding the reaction level material, and students' general critical thinking skills. The results of this need analysis show that teachers and students need integrated learning tools to support learning activities. The conclusion of this study is to develop a multiple-representation-based blended learning Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) to improve critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes

Abstract

Introduction: Increased the number of cesarean sections in Indonesia based on IDHS data in 2017 by 17.6%. This figure exceeds the recommendation of WHO, which is 10-15%. The impact of cesarean section related to maternal and infant health, health financing budgets, and public health policies. This research article analyzes the relationship between maternal factors and cesarean section in Indonesia. This is a novelty in this article. Objective: This article aims to analyze the relationship of maternal factors with cesarean section in Indonesia. Method: The design of this study is a cross-sectional study using data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS). The sampling design was stratified two-stage sampling, with a sample of 14,891 respondents. Data was analyzed using Stata 14.2. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis multivariate analysis. Results: Women who experienced pregnancy complications had a 1.2 times greater risk of cesarean section (OR=1.2, CI=1.0-1.4). Women who had a history of cesarean section had a 64.8 times greater risk of having a cesarean section (OR = 64.8, CI = 38.2-109.9). While the variables of labor complications, twins, and pregnancy spacing had no effect on cesarean section (OR<1). Conclusion: Monitoring and evaluation of the increasing number of cesarean sections without medical indication and the severity of labor is necessary. The decision to undergo a cesarean section should be based on clear and solid reasons, supported by good medical data.
