Abstract

This research aims to scientifically develop bioactive compounds from honey pineapple peel and develop a dish soap formulation with extract additives of honey pineapple peel that can be antibacterial. The research was conducted in stages, namely process of extracting honey pineapple peel was carried out by the maceration method using 96% ethanol as a solvent, phytochemical screening of the ethanol extract of honey pineapple peel was done to determine the class of compounds contained in the extract, and application of honey pineapple peel extract in dish soap formulation was to obtain a dish soap formulation with optimal antibacterial activity. Testing the ability of dish soap products to inhibit S. aureus bacteria was performed by the method of filter paper disc diffusion. The results revealed that the ethanol extract of honey pineapple peel contained alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. The ethanol extract of honey pineapple peel has been applied in a dish soap formulation and tested for the antibacterial activity of S. aureus. Antibacterial test results showed that the dish soap formulation with the addition of 5% pineapple peel extract provided strong antibacterial activity, indicated by a precise zone formation of 12.60 mm

Abstract

Secondary metabolites found in white Frangipani flowers (Plumeria acuminata), white tropical Magnolia flowers (Michelia alba), Ylang flower (Cananga Odorata), and Nutgrass (Cyperus rotundus L.) are thought to be employed as antibacterial active ingredients in detergent. This research aims to create liquid antibacterial soap using an extract mixture of Nutgrass with white Frangipani flower (F1), white tropical Magnolia flower (F2), or Ylang flower (F3). Phytochemical screening tests for the ethanol extracts of Nutgrass and those three flowers, pH tests, total active ingredients tests, and antibacterial activity tests against S. aureus and E. coli bacteria were carried out during the formulation of the liquid soap preparation with the addition of these extracts. The extraction procedure was maceration with a 70% ethanol solvent, yielding extracts of 9.28 percent frangipani flower, 8.12 percent white tropical Magnolia flowers, 9.8 percent Ylang flower, and 8.88 percent Nutgrass. The liquid soap quality testing findings met the established norms (SNI 4085:2017). This research shows that the soap formulas (F0, F1, F2, and F3) can inhibit S. aureus and E. coli germs in antibacterial activity tests using the disc diffusion method. Based on the diameter of the inhibition zone, the antibacterial activity against E. coli of liquid soap with Nutgrass & white tropical Magnolia flower extracts (F2) is not significantly different from liquid soap without extracts (F0). The F2 formula shows to be less effective than both the two liquid soaps containing extracts of Nutgrass & white Frangipani flower (F1) and Nutgrass & Ylang flower (F3). However, the three formulas of liquid soaps (F1, F2, and F3) tend to be more effective in antibacterial activity against S. aureus than a liquid soap that did not contain extracts (F0).

Abstract

Online distance learning during the COVID-19 outbreak presents new challenges and opportunities for teachers and students. The Blended Learning method is reported to be one of the promising alternatives. However, no specific study revealed the proper blended learning model for chemistry learning that require chemistry representation and can improve critical thinking and problem solving skills at high school level. Qualitative research using phenomenological methods was used in this study. The data collection technique used is using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. A total of 22 respondents from master students of chemistry education, lecturers and teachers of chemistry education participated in this study. The blended learning model analyzed in this study are Rotational blended learning models (station class, Lab/Whole Group class, flipped class, and Individual), Flex, Self-Blend, and Enriched-Virtual classes. The study results indicate that the blended learning model that the respondents chose the most suitable for multiple representation-based chemistry learning was the Flipped Class model (50%), while the one that was not selected was the Individual Rotation model.

Abstract

AbstrakLatar belakang penelitian ini bermula dari minimnya jumlah sumber belajar kimia untuk siswa SMA/MA yang berbasis islam, adanya dikotomi ilmu pengetahuan dan agama serta model pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru yang identik dengan ceramah, belum adanya modul yang terintegrasi nilai islam, dan hasil UN yang belum memenuhi KKM pada materi ikatan kimia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Pengembangan produk modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam pada materi ikatan kimia, (2) Mengetahui kelayakan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam, (3) Mengetahui keefektifan keterterapan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam. Produk yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam pada materi ikatan kimia. Spesifikasi modul kimia berbentuk media cetak sebagai implementasi kurikulum 2013 berbasis kompetensi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Yapita, SMA HU, SMA Muhammadiyah 7, dan SMA IT Al-Uswah, di Surabaya . Sampel terdiri dari satu kelas pengguna modul dan satu kelas kontrol yang dipilih secara teknik random sampling. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan rumus Kuder Richardson. Sedangkan untuk validitas isi, digunakan formula Aiken. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu; Pertama, Pengembangan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam pada materi ikatan kimia dilakukan dengan menggunakan langkah pengembangan yang kemukakan oleh Borg & Gall (1983) sampai pada tahap ke sembilan. Kedua,  Pengembangan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam dapat dikatakan œsangat baik ditinjau dari aspek materi 85,9%,  penyajian 85,8%, bahasa 85,4% dan kegrafisan 86,03%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan dikatakan œsangat baikuntuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran kimia. Ketiga, Pengembangan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam yang dikembangkan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar para siswa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar menggunakan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional.                    AbstractThe backgrounds of this study were the inadequate of sources studied chemistry for islamic senior high school. The dichotomy between science, religion, and learning model that is centered on the teachers. They are identical to monotonous lecture. On the other hand the lack of integrated module with Islamic value and the result of the National Exam which has not met Criteria of Mastery Learning on chemical bonding topic. The goals of this study are: (1) Development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value on chemical bonding topic, (2) Determine the feasibility of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value, (3) Determine the effectiveness of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value. Product developed in this study was SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value on chemical bonding topic. Specifications is print media shaped as a competency based on curriculum implementation in 2013. Subjects in this study were class X high scool in Surabaya: Yapita, Hidayatul Ummah, Muhammadiyah 7, and IT Al-Uswah. The sample consists of one class of user modules and one control class were selected by random sampling technique. Reliability testing used Kuder Richardson formula. As for the validity of the content used the formula Aiken. Data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative. The conclusion of this study are; First, the development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value on chemical bonding topic is done by using Borg and Gall (1983) method up to the stage nine. Second, the development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value is qualified "very good" in terms of the material aspect of 85.9%, presenting 85.8%, language 85.4%, and graphic 86.03%. So it can be concluded that the developed module is "very good" to learn chemistry. Third, development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value is effectively used to improve student outcomes. It can be concluded that the result of learning using a SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value is better than conventional learning.Keyword: chemical module, SETS, islamic value, chemical bonding.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Saat ini pemberlakuan pembelajaran tatap muka telah hamper 100% dilaksanakan, namun pada masa pandemi Covid-19 masih dilaksanakan secara terbatas. Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bioteknologi dan Biodiversitas (P3BB) Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta menyelenggarakan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang berjudul ' Pada kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dengan judul “Penyuluhan COVID-19 Bagi Guru-guru SMAN 1 dan SMAN 2 Surakarta dalam Rangka Menyongsong Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Luring”..Metode: Pelaksanaan kegiatan pada Senin 18 Oktober 2021 bertempat di ruang Multimedia Lantai 2 SMAN 1 Jl. Monginsidi No. 40 dan secara daring menggunakan media zoom. Pesertanya adalah Guru-guru SMAN 1 dan SMAN 2 berjumlah 70 orang baik yang hadir secara daring maupun luring. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini diawali dengan penyebaran angket sebelum dilakukan penyuluhan, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penyuluhan materi terkait protokol Kesehatan menghadapai PTM. Setelah dilaksanakan penyuluhan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dan diakhiri dengan posttest terkait topik yang telah disampaikan oleh narasumber.Hasil dan pembahasan: Hasil posttest menunjukkan prosentase peningkatan Pengetahuan Covid-19 (9,97%), Pencegahan dan Diagnosis Covid-19 (17,06%) dan Penerapan protokol Kesehatan (12,87%). Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang Pengetahuan Covid-19, Pencegahan dan Diagnosis Covid-19 dan Penerapan protokol Kesehatan dalam rangka Menyongsong Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Luring .Kesimpulan: Pelaksanaan pengabdian berjalan dengan efektif dengan peningkatan pengetahuan tentang Pengetahuan Covid-19, Pencegahan dan Diagnosis Covid-19 dan Penerapan protokol Kesehatan dalam rangka Menyongsong Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Luring.

Abstract

Alpukat (Persea americana) merupakan buah yang sudah sangat dikenal dan digemari oleh masyarakat. Alpukat diketahui memiliki khasiat sebagai antioksidan, antidiabetik dan efek hipolipidemik. Nutrisi yang terkandung dalam buah alpukat mampu membantu memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi harian tubuh. Namun, cara budidaya tanaman Alpukat  sangat berpengaruh pada khasiat atau kualitas dan kuantitas dari produk yang dihasilkan. Sehingga diperlukan pemahaman tentang cara budidaya tanaman Alpukat kepada masyarakat. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam kegiatan ini adalah agar masyarakat lebih memahami cara budidaya tanaman alpukat sebagai tanaman pekarangan dan mengetahui manfaat buah Alpukat dalam meningkatkan gizi keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian sudah dilaksanakan dengan metode penyuluhan dengan penyampaian materi tentang budidaya tanaman Alpukat, manfaat Alpukat, serta berbagai olahan Alpukat sedangkan pada akhir sesi dilakukan pemberian bibit Alpukat serta pupuk pada masing-masing peserta. Kegiatan yang sudah terlaksana ini bermanfaat untuk menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat khususnya masyarakat Kelurahan Wonokarto tentang budidaya tanaman Alpukat dan keanekaragaman manfaat Alpukat untuk kesehatan.Kata Kunci: alpukat; budidaya; penyuluhan; pupuk

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendiskripsikan kualitas butir soal yang ditinjau dari daya pembeda, tingkat kesukaran, efektifitas kunci jawaban dan pengecoh serta menganalisis keterpenuhan HOTS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian diskripsi kualitatif dengan sumber data soal UAS Kimia pilihan ganda kelas X Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022 SMK Tunas Nusantara. Sampel Kelas X jurusan teknik kimia industri. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan wawancara. Uji validitas menggunakan uji kredibilitas jenis Triangulasi Antar Peneliti. Teknik analisis kuantitatif menggunakan software ITEMAN Version 3.0 dan analisis keterpenuhan HOTS dengan triangulasi antar peneliti. Hasil penelitian, soal memiliki tingkat kesukaran sedang sebesar 40%, daya beda berkategori baik sebesar 20%, efektifitas kunci jawaban sebesar 43,33% dan efektifitas pengecoh sebesar 50%. Sehingga hanya 1 soal yang disimpan, 29 soal dilakukan revisi dan seluruh butir soal termasuk dalam soal LOTS.

Abstract

Usaha Kecil dan menengah (UKM) sabun herbal merupakan salah satu usaha yang menarik untuk dikembangkan. Berdasarkan observasi di UKM sabun herbal Dejavu milik Ibu Sherly di Kota Surakarta, telah memproduksi dan memasarkan herbal padat dengan bahan aditif ekstrak dari buah dan sayuran. Namun usaha sabun ini masih perlu pengembangan produk supaya penjualannya meningkat. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) UNS memberikan solusi melalui inovasi produksi sabun herbal cair antiseptik alami. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pelatihan produksi dan pemgemasan sabun herbal cair antiseptik alami. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan cara sosialisasi dan praktek pada produksi dan pengemasannya. Selanjutnya, sabun yang dihasilkan dari pelatihan dilakukan pengujian di laboratorium dan uji organoleptik. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan UKM sabun herbal Dejavu telah dapat membuat dan mengemas 4 varian sabun antiseptik alami berupa sabun lidah buaya, sabun jeruk nipis, sabun sereh dan sabun sirih merah. Berdasarkan uji kualitas sabun diperoleh nilai pH yang memenuhi persyaratan SNI dengan kekentalan dan tingkat kestabilan busa yang baik. Berdasarkan uji organoleptik, sabun herbal cair ini bisa diterima konsumen dengan nilai yang cukup disukai. Sabun ini masih perlu diperbaiki terutama pada penambahan pewangi. Secara umum sabun hasil pelatihan yang dikemas dengan ukuran 250 mL dengan label sesuai variannya memiliki kualitas yang baik dan siap dipasarkan.

Abstract

ABSTRAKStunting adalah kondisi gagal tumbuh pada anak balita sebagai akibat dari kekurangan gizi kronis terutama ada 1.000 Hari Pertama Kehiduan (HPK). Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh multifaktor dan penanganan kasus stunting dapat dilakukan dengan upaya promotif maupun preventif. Jumlah kasus stunting di wilayah Kabupaten Sragen pada bulan Februari 2022 adalah 3.829 kasus. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pelatihan kader untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader tentang stunting. Pelaksanaan dan metode diawali dengan tahapan analisis situasi dan dilanjutkan pelatihan sebagai upaya peningkatan kapasitas kader dalam hal pencegahan dan pengendalian stunting di Kabupaten Sragen. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 21 orang kader BKB yang berasal dari lokus stunting di wilayah Kabupaten Sragen. Pengukuran pemahaman kader menggunakan kuesioner sebanyak dua kali yakni sebelum pelatihan berlangsung (pre-test) dan sebagai post-test tentang stunting. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon untuk menguji pengaruh pelatihan terhadap pengetahuan kader. Hasil didapatkan adanya peningkatan kapasitas kader stunting (pretest mean 86.67 ± SD 9.661, post test mean 90.48 ± SD 7.229, p value 0.015. Simpulan : Pelatihan kader dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan kader. Kata kunci: pelatihan; kader; stunting ABSTRACTStunting was a condition of growth failure in under-five children as a result of chronic malnutrition especially at the first 1,000 Days of Life. This condition was caused by multifactors and stunting cases could be handled through promotive and preventive efforts. The number of stunting cases in the Sragen on February 2022 was 3,829 cases. The study aimed to analys the effectivity of the cadres training to increase the cadres knowledge about stunting. The implementation and methods began with the situation analysis before training the cadres in Sragen in order to improve their competences in preventing and controlling stunting cases. The activity was attended by 21 BKB cadres from stunting locus on Sragen. The cadre’s knowledge was measured using pre-test and post-test questionnaires of stunting. Data was analyzed using Wilcoxon test. The result was obtained that training could increase the knowledge of cadres (pretest mean 86.67 ± SD 9.661, post test mean 90.48 ± SD 7.229, p value 0.015) . Conclusion: The cadres training could increase the knowledge of cadres. Keywords: training; cadres; stunting

Abstract

Science process skills (SPS) are an important aspect of learning science. SPS help students to develop creativity in learning. Process skills such as observing, formulating questions, interpreting, experimenting, hypothesizing, applying concepts, and communicating. This study aims to analyze the need for development resources needs of science filled with science process skills. Requirement analysis of the development of teaching materials with the skill of the process of science needs to be done because the textbook is the reference a teacher in the class. The subjects matter of chemistry the study was three senior high schools in Sambas, West Borneo. Needs analysis conducted using a qualitative approach, in terms of needs in classroom learning and content of process skills on teaching materials. Data were collected by interviews and questionnaires were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that as many as 27 percents of students perceive the book used in learning has not yet trained the science process skills. As many as 73 percents of students perceive that they need instructional materials in the form of inquiry-based chemistry modules to improve science process skills. Modules are developed based guided inquiry for having guided inquiry learning stages that can practice students' science process skills.
