Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi Konsep Materi dan Perubahannya dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran TGT disertai VCD dan TTS. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus, dengan tiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X TKR 2 SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Sragen tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, dokumentasi, observasi, tes dan angket. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian tindakan kelas ini menunjukkan bahwa: Penerapan model pembelajaran TGT disertai VCD dan TTS dapat meningkatkan minat siswa kelas X TKR  2 SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Sragen pada materi konsep materi dan perubahannya. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari minat siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II. Persentase minat belajar siswa pada siklus I  68,78% dan 75,05% pada siklus II. Penerapan model pembelajaran TGT disertai VCD dan TTS dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa pada materi konsep materi dan perubahannya. Dalam penelitian ini, prestasi belajar yang dimaksud adalah ketuntasan belajar dan prestasi afektif siswa. Pada siklus I persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar  34,38% dan pada siklus II persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa meningkat   90,62%. Pada aspek afektif, siswa yang mempunyai kategori tinggi sebesar  73,17% pada siklus I dan  78,33% pada siklus II.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) perbedaan prestasi belajar pada materi hidrolisis garam antara siswa yang diberi pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E menggunakan laboratorium real dan laboratorium virtual; 2) perbedaan prestasi belajar pada materi hidrolisis garam antara siswa yang memiliki sikap ilmiah tinggi dan sikap ilmiah rendah dan 3) interaksi antara penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E menggunakan laboratorium real dan virtual dengan sikap ilmiah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI MIPA 2 (LC 5E-Lab.Real) dan siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 (LC 5E-Lab.Virtual). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, angket, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji Mann-Whitney dan Kruskal-Wallis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa: 1) tidak ada perbedaan prestasi belajar pada materi hidrolisis garam antara siswa yang diberi pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E menggunakan laboratorium real dan laboratorium virtual; 2) tidak ada perbedaan prestasi belajar pada materi hidrolisis garam antara siswa yang memiliki sikap ilmiah tinggi dan sikap ilmiah rendah dan 3) tidak ada interaksi antara penggunaan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E menggunakan laboratorium real dan virtual dengan sikap ilmiah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) Proses pengembangan handout kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dilengkapi media grafis pada materi ikatan kimia, (2) Kelayakan handout kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dilengkapi media grafis yang dikembangkan pada materi ikatan kimia berdasarkan validasi ahli, penilaian praktisi pembelajaran serta respon siswa, dan (3) Efektivitas penggunaan handout kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dilengkapi media grafis yang dikembangkan pada materi ikatan kimia untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa . Penelitian dan pengembangan handout menggunakan model prosedur Borg & Gall yang telah direduksi menjadi sembilan tahapan. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan menunjukkan: (1) proses setiap langkah pengembangan handout kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dilengkapi media grafis berdasarankan saran dari para ahli dan telah diujicobakan kepada calon pengguna, (2) Kelayakan handout berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi ikatan kimia menurut para ahli berkualifikasi baik, praktisi pendidikan diperoleh CV ≥ 0,87 yang menunjukkan handout layak digunakan; rata-rata angket respon siswa dan guru diperoleh penilaian dengan kategori “sangat baik” (3) Handout kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan siswa. Abstract

AbstrakLatar belakang penelitian ini bermula dari minimnya jumlah sumber belajar kimia untuk siswa SMA/MA yang berbasis islam, adanya dikotomi ilmu pengetahuan dan agama serta model pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru yang identik dengan ceramah, belum adanya modul yang terintegrasi nilai islam, dan hasil UN yang belum memenuhi KKM pada materi ikatan kimia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Pengembangan produk modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam pada materi ikatan kimia, (2) Mengetahui kelayakan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam, (3) Mengetahui keefektifan keterterapan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam. Produk yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam pada materi ikatan kimia. Spesifikasi modul kimia berbentuk media cetak sebagai implementasi kurikulum 2013 berbasis kompetensi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Yapita, SMA HU, SMA Muhammadiyah 7, dan SMA IT Al-Uswah, di Surabaya . Sampel terdiri dari satu kelas pengguna modul dan satu kelas kontrol yang dipilih secara teknik random sampling. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan rumus Kuder Richardson. Sedangkan untuk validitas isi, digunakan formula Aiken. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu; Pertama, Pengembangan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam pada materi ikatan kimia dilakukan dengan menggunakan langkah pengembangan yang kemukakan oleh Borg & Gall (1983) sampai pada tahap ke sembilan. Kedua,  Pengembangan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam dapat dikatakan œsangat baik ditinjau dari aspek materi 85,9%,  penyajian 85,8%, bahasa 85,4% dan kegrafisan 86,03%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan dikatakan œsangat baikuntuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran kimia. Ketiga, Pengembangan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam yang dikembangkan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar para siswa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar menggunakan modul kimia berbasis SETS terintegrasi nilai islam lebih baik dari pembelajaran konvensional.                    AbstractThe backgrounds of this study were the inadequate of sources studied chemistry for islamic senior high school. The dichotomy between science, religion, and learning model that is centered on the teachers. They are identical to monotonous lecture. On the other hand the lack of integrated module with Islamic value and the result of the National Exam which has not met Criteria of Mastery Learning on chemical bonding topic. The goals of this study are: (1) Development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value on chemical bonding topic, (2) Determine the feasibility of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value, (3) Determine the effectiveness of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value. Product developed in this study was SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value on chemical bonding topic. Specifications is print media shaped as a competency based on curriculum implementation in 2013. Subjects in this study were class X high scool in Surabaya: Yapita, Hidayatul Ummah, Muhammadiyah 7, and IT Al-Uswah. The sample consists of one class of user modules and one control class were selected by random sampling technique. Reliability testing used Kuder Richardson formula. As for the validity of the content used the formula Aiken. Data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative. The conclusion of this study are; First, the development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value on chemical bonding topic is done by using Borg and Gall (1983) method up to the stage nine. Second, the development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value is qualified "very good" in terms of the material aspect of 85.9%, presenting 85.8%, language 85.4%, and graphic 86.03%. So it can be concluded that the developed module is "very good" to learn chemistry. Third, development of SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value is effectively used to improve student outcomes. It can be concluded that the result of learning using a SETS based chemical module integrated to Islamic value is better than conventional learning.Keyword: chemical module, SETS, islamic value, chemical bonding.

Abstract

This research aims to know: (1) the effect of PjBL and PBL models based on tetrahedral chemistry representation toward student’s achievement; (2) the effect of creativity toward student’s achievement; and (3) the interaction between PjBL and PBL models based on tetrahedral chemistry representation with creativity toward student’s achievement on the colloid subject in SMA Negeri 1 Sragen. This research used quasi experiment method with 2×2 factorial design. Samples of research were determined with cluster random sampling technique and used 2 classes in SMA Negeri 1 Sragen. Data has been collected by test, questionnaire, observation, and literature documents which owned by teacher. Hypothesis testing of this research for cognitive and skill aspects of learning achievement used parametric test of Anova two ways, and for attitude aspect of learning achievement used non-parametric test of Kruskal-Wallis. The results of this research showed that: (1) there was no effect of chemistry learning using of PjBL and PBL models based on tetrahedral chemistry representation toward knowledge, attitude, and skill aspects of student’s achievement; (2) there was effect of high and low creativity toward knowledge and skill aspects of student’s achievement but there was no effect toward attitude aspect of student’s achievement; and (3) there was no interaction between using PjBL and PBL models based on tetrahedral chemistry representation with creativity toward knowledge, attitude, and skill aspects of student’s achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of C-4-methoxyphenylcalix-[4]resorcinarene modified by Hexadecyltrimethylammonium-Bromide (Resorcinarene-HDTMA-Br) against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The study was conducted by testing the inhibition zone diameter with paper disc diffusion method. Variations in the concentration of the sample used were 10%; 15%; 20%; 25%; and 30% b/v. In this study, Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) (sampel solvent) was used as a negative control and Chloramphenicol as a positive control. It was found that Resorsinarene-HDTMA-Br had higher antibacterial activity than the unmodified C-4-methoxyphenylcalix[4]resorcinarene (CMFKR) against the S. aureus bacteria. Both CMFKR and Resorcinarene-HDTMA-Br are not active against E. coli.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a computerized testlet assessment to measure science process skills on stoichiometry material in terms of validity, reliability, difficulty level, distinguishing features and deception indexes that meet the criteria as good assessment instruments, and can display individual profiles of science process skills students. The subject of the research trial was a grade X student of Senior High School in Boyolali. Validity test is done by content validity, criteria, and expert validation. Reliability test is done by finding the price of the reliability coefficient r. Characteristics test is done by determining the level of difficulty, distinguishing features and deception index. The profile of science process skills is determined by measuring students' mastery of the science process. The results of the research and development was declared feasible and met the criteria as a good question with a validity of questions more than 0.79 (valid), has a test reliability on the main field trials of 0.643 and 0.610 on the trial the implementation of the field is relatively high, has a distinguishing power with a percentage of 10% bad, 66.7% is sufficient, and 23.3% is good, has a difficulty level with a percentage of 20% difficult, 53.3% moderate and 26.7% easy.

Abstract

Synthetic dyes have a high environmental impact, especially on waters. The use of natural dyes for textiles provides new hope for ecological improvement. This article is to find out the yield of water extract of white frangipani (Plumeria acuminate) and hibiscus (Hibiscus tiliaceus) leaves-powder, as well as to find out whether the water extracts have potential as textile natural dyes. Natural dyes must have a good quality of fastness. For this reason, the color fastness tests for washing with a launder meter and colorfastness against rubbing with a crock meter are performed. Colorfastness is assessed by comparing color changes to washing with grayscale and color changes due to staining on fabric with staining scale. The rubbing test is carried out on the wet and dry cloth. Cotton and polyester fabrics are samples that will be colored. Fixers used to bind dyes are Al2(SO4)3, CaCO3, and FeSO4.H2O. The results show that the water extraction of hibiscus and white frangipani leaves powder gave a yield of 11% (w/w) and 27 % (w/w), respectively. The test of colorfastness against washing showed that both water extract of the white frangipani dan hibiscus leaves has a pretty good average quality in staining scale but less in grayscale. The test against rubbing shows that the type of fixer used affects the quality of the colorfastness, but in general, the water extract of white frangipani leaves gives better quality as a potential of natural dye than hibiscus leaves

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve students’ interest and achievement in learning in the eleventh grade students of lintas-minat Chemistry 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2015/2016 by implementing the learning model of problem-solving using mapping concept strategy in buffer solution subject matter. This CAR was carried out in two cycles and in each cycle there was four stages consisting of action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data of interest aspect and attitude aspect of learning achievement were collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews techniques. Data of knowledge aspect and skill aspect of learning achievement were collected using test and observation techniques, respectively. The research data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive technique. The results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of problem-solving learning model using concept mapping strategy can increase the eleventh grade students’ interest and achievement in the learning subject matter of buffer-solution at the Lintas-Minat Chemistry 1 class of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta. The achievement percentage of students’ interest aspect in the first cycle is 55% and the second cycle increases to 80%. The learning achievement of knowledge aspects increases from 60% in cycle I to 80% in the second cycle. The learning achievement of attitude aspect (spirituality, honesty, responsibility, and cooperation) reached 100% in cycle I with unfinished cooperation indicator and 100% in cycle II with completed of cooperation attitude indicator. For learning achievement in skill aspect in cycle I has reached 100%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify how lesson plans prepared based on socratic questions can improve critical thinking skills. Research method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), data collection techniques through interviews and questionnaires. It is expected that the results of the research can be applied in schools specifically to produce lesson plans in colloidal learning integrated with TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge). The results showed the teacher gave a positive assessment of 85% on the socratic questions contained in the lesson plan. This will provide stimulants to students in order to able to argue and practice their critical thinking skills. Postgraduate student participants also gave a positive response of 87.5%. It can be concluded that both teacher participants and postgraduate students agree with the application of socrates questions to students because they have a positive impact on critical thinking skills. Thus, this initial stage of research can proceed to the next stage of PAR research.
