Abstract

Introduction: Even though antenatal care checks are incredibly crucial for monitoring the health development of both mothers and newborns, the reality is that a significant number of pregnant women do not go to their appointments as much as is recommended. This is because pregnant women are frequently tardy in doing prenatal care checks since there is a lack of information regarding the significance of antenatal checks for the development of health. Experts are attempting to progress in the health sector by using mobile devices in health services to monitor antenatal care (ANC) for pregnant women. This is being done in light of the rapidly evolving technology of the 4.0 age. This application will serve to remind pregnant women of the scheduled examination appointments suggested for them. Additionally, it can potentially improve health services for pregnant women and identify issues that may arise during pregnancy. Methods: Conduct a systematic data analysis by examining existing research findings on the efficacy of Android-based antenatal care applications in enhancing adherence to antenatal care and improving maternal health. Articles about the specified theme were chosen from 2018 to 2023 using electronic databases like Science Direct, PubMed, Google Scholar, and open knowledge maps for the search. The researcher employed the PRISMA methodology to analyze the literature study comprehensively. Results: Of 184 papers, ten studies were deemed suitable and thoroughly examined and studied regarding their research objectives, samples, methodology, and findings with keywords Antenatal Care Application, Android, Antenatal Care Adherence, and Pregnant Mothers Health. The selection process for this study is presented in Figure 1. Conclusion: An Antenatal Care Application based on Android has the potential to enhance compliance with Antenatal Care, enhance the health of pregnant women, augment maternal knowledge and behavior, improve health services for pregnant women, and facilitate the detection of pregnancy issues.

Abstract

A significant number of teenage girls are at risk of developing anemia. When it comes to adolescent girls, there are still significant knowledge, attitudes, and practice gaps, as well as health education gaps, which can affect anemia. App-based health technology, such as mobile health (mHealth), is a promising tool that has the potential to overcome obstacles and give suitable health guidelines as part of efforts to promote, prevent, cure, and rehabilitate patient health. Objective: to assess the impact of MHealth interventions on the prevention of anemia in adolescent girls. Method: This research is a review of the existing literature. With the assistance of the publish or perish application, data sources were gathered in the form of publications published in national and international journals between the years 2019 and 2023. These articles were obtained from the PubMed database and Google Scholar. PICOS was used as the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of articles, and the selection process was accordingly. This research was carried out in a manner that was compliant with the PRISMA recommendations. A total of 352 articles were collected from the search results. Next, an elimination process was performed based on predefined criteria based on PICOS requirements, resulting in a total of nine studies included in the review (n = 9). This was depicted in PRISMA. The study utilized various mHealth apps, including WANTER, TEENFIT, LADIES, She Smart, eHealth, Android-based apps, E-WoHealth, Aneminfo, and Android apps that use videos. The findings suggest that comprehensive implementation of health apps can effectively reduce the occurrence of anemia in adolescent girls. Conclusion: The utilization of mHealth applications in health technology has the potential to enhance knowledge, modify behavior and attitudes more effectively, and facilitate the implementation of anemia prevention measures to decrease and avert anemia.

Abstract

Antenatal care, often known as ANC, is the foundation of programs assisting reproductive health. It is particularly significant in the field of maternal and child health because it offers services to pregnant women from the time of conception until the delivery of the baby. These services are designed to ensure a safe pregnancy and delivery, hence preventing difficulties. The problem of pregnancy difficulties unquestionably has a bad influence on both the mother and her fetus. As a result, it is the reason for the high maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia. Some of the complications that contribute to this rate include bleeding, eclampsia, complications during abortion, sepsis, and extended partus. By providing routine prenatal care and examinations to medical professionals, it is possible to save the lives of pregnant women who experience problems. Distance is one of the numerous elements that can function as a barrier, and there are many others. During this digitalization era, technology makes it possible to disseminate information to pregnant women to enhance antenatal care. One example of this is using mobile phones in health services, referred to as m-Health. This is a promising option to improve the health outcomes of both mothers and children. This research was conducted to conduct a literature review to assess the advantages of mobile health in enhancing antenatal care. This literature study technique was selected from January 2019 to January 2024. The study approaches chosen are randomized trials, pseudo-experiments, and cluster randomization, designed to adhere to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study utilizes the PRISMA protocol. A thorough electronic search across many databases yielded 683 articles, with 274 from PubMed and 409 from Google Scholar. After independently obtaining and rigorously filtering publications, 6 studies were included in the review. Final Thoughts Based on the findings of the six chosen publications, a critical analysis was carried out, and the conclusion reached was that MHealth is highly significant and beneficial in pregnancy care.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is currently a top priority for global health. Commonly offered anti-hypertensive pharmacological therapies such as ACE-inhibitors are known to have side effects in long-term use, unlike herbal glucomannan, which has been used as a treatment for patients with type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study was to see what effect applying glucomannan supplements for 6 hours had on blood pressure parameters obtained from the wistar rat subjects who had hypertension. Twenty five male Wistar rats with normal systolic blood pressure (sBP) ± 110 mmHg were involved in the study; they received a 10% high salt diet for 14 days. They were divided into 4 groups: the positive control group G1 received captopril at 25 mg/kg of body weight and the treatment groups G2  50 mg KGM. Blood pressure measurement using sphygmonanometers with diastolic blood pressure (dBP) is the exclusion criterion of the study. Data analysis is done with a paired sample t-test. Blood pressure in each group decreased after 6 hours of intervention, but the most significant results were obtained in the G5 group that received glucomannan 100 mg/kg bb. In conclusion, Glucomannan can lower blood pressure; this potential is the same as that of red ginger, which modulates the production of angiotensin-corventing enzymes.
