Abstract

Being a farmer who works directly in the environment certainly has many risks at work, one of which is the occurrence of unwanted events that can threaten the health of farmers. Some problems are classified as emergencies and must be handled immediately to avoid fatalities. One example is the occurrence of snake bite emergencies in farmers. This study aims to determine some emergencies in agricultural areas and how to provide first aid. The method used in this study was a literature review of articles from article search engines such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct analyzed using the PRISMA technique by including articles published in the last five years. The results found that emergencies that often occur in agricultural areas include venomous snake bites, pesticide poisoning, contracting dengue fever from mosquitoes, and rat bites that cause rat-bite fever. First aid methods that can be performed on someone whom a snake has bitten are by calming the victim, immobilizing the victim's entire body by laying him in the recovery position and immobilizing the affected body part using either a sling, splint, or pressure bandage immobilization (PBI) method. Nurses have a role in educating and counseling farmers on how to first aid someone who experiences snake bites, rat bites that cause rat bite fever, and drowning in fishermen.

Abstract

The spread of leptospirosis worldwide shows a high incidence rate. The disease is transmitted through the urine of animals infected with leptospira bacteria. Factors that can affect the incidence of leptospirosis are gender, age, uncovered food storage, the presence of rats, the presence of pets and contact with standing water. The writing method used is literature review. The literature search used Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases with the period 2019-2023. The results of a review of 10 national and international journal articles show that leptospirosis has considerable potential for farmers because the spread occurs directly through blood or urine containing germs into the human body, and indirect transmission can occur through stagnant water, rivers, lakes, drains, and mud contaminated by animal urine. The harmful effects of spreading leptospirosis in an agricultural environment can lead to infection in humans and livestock. Early symptoms in humans include fever, headache, and nausea. If not treated promptly, the disease can progress to a more serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Therefore, the role of nurses in monitoring the health of farm animals and educating farmers on preventive measures is crucial in maintaining animal health and keeping the agricultural sector sustainable.

Abstract

Vegetable farmers risk being infected with Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) due to frequent direct contact with soil contaminated by STH eggs. Worm infections transmitted through the soil cause disturbances in the tissues and organs of the body by taking nutrients from the vegetable growers' bodies, which can cause serious complications. The search process was carried out using a literature review using four databases, namely Google Scholar, Science Direct, WorldCat, and PubMed, with a publication range of 2018-2023. From all search results, ten articles match the research criteria. The results showed that vegetable farmers who have good personal hygiene can reduce the risk of STH infection. The presence of health workers here is expected to enable them to carry out health promotion, health education, and outreach to the community, especially to vegetable farmers, regarding good personal hygiene to prevent STH transmission.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has occurred since 2020 in Indonesia, has had many impacts on society in various aspects, one of the main ones being mental and social conditions that cause stress. One thing that has an influence is the health service environment. In nursing, communication is vital in helping and building interactions between nurses and patients, and it is called therapeutic communication. This literature review aims to help analyze nurses' therapeutic communication regarding the recovery of COVID-19 patients. The method used is a search in reviews literature using three databases, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct, with the publication year 2019-2023, with the initial step of identifying keywords and then screening and filtering to get ten suitable articles from a total of 3,846 articles found. The results of 10 journals that have gone through these stages or methods state that there is no significant process in each stage of communication on patient satisfaction. In addition, there was no significant relationship between nurses' skills and how nursing care was implemented. However, therapeutic communication is proven to reduce anxiety in patients and families. The nurse's good therapeutic communication experience is evidenced by the support system, effective coping, and hope for the patient's recovery. One of the latest models in its implementation is the TAGEET model, which encourages psychological support for patients. Female gender and nurses have a relationship with therapeutic communication. If communication is lacking, it will impact the psychology of patients and nurses and the patient's recovery rate. As a nurse, you should be able to interpret the techniques and stages of good therapeutic communication to increase a patient's recovery level.

Abstract

Patient safety is a top priority for health care facilities because it is related to the quality and good image of the hospital. The impact that occurs when health workers ignore patient safety is that patient care is prolonged, patients can experience physical and psychological trauma, disability and even death. Proper drug administration is influenced by several factors. One of these factors is the nurse behavior factor, where nurses do not apply the six principles of treatment in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the hospital. The research aims to see the role of the Nurse in Charge in identifying the 6 correct drug administration. This research is of the analytical description type using observational methods. The population in the research were all nurses in the Anthurium 3 room with a sample of 14 respondents selected using total sampling. This study looked at the compliance of nurses in identifying the six correct principles as measured by a questionnaire on the implementation of the six correct principles of drug administration. The results of the study showed the accuracy of identifying 6 correct drugs, namely the correct drug with an accuracy of 74.1%, the correct dose of 70%, the correct time of 73.2%, the correct patient 64.2%, the correct route 87.5% and the correct documentation 65%. The implementation of the identification of the 6 correct drug administration can be carried out optimally if all nurses can carry out the protocol according to procedures based on the right drug, right time, right patient, right route, and right documentation.
