Abstract

Abstract

The right to religious education for all students is guaranteed by Indonesian law. However, in Muslim-majority regions such as Aceh, the implementation of religious education for non-Muslim students remains inconsistent and under-explored. This study investigates how such education is implemented and evaluated in public schools, with a focus on inclusivity and compliance with legal standards. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study explored the lived experiences of principals, religious teachers, non-Muslim students, and religious leaders across four regions in Aceh: Aceh Singkil, West Aceh, Sabang, and Lhokseumawe. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic triangulation. Findings reveal that due to the lack of non-Muslim religious teachers, schools rely on external religious leaders to provide instruction and conduct evaluations. Most learning takes place in houses of worship and is integrated into regular religious activities. While schools facilitate this process, the absence of standardized curricula and assessment rubrics has led to inconsistent learning outcomes and unequal educational experiences for minority students. The study identifies a hybrid model of religious education delivery that partially fulfills legal obligations but lacks integration with national educational standards. It concludes that while efforts to provide religious education for non-Muslim students exist, they are fragmented and depend heavily on local initiatives. A national policy framework is urgently needed to ensure equitable, inclusive, and accountable religious education for all students.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the depth of sirah material in MATSA, Malaysia, and Dayah Darul Muta'allimin, Aceh, collecting data related to the teaching sources used, methods used, media variations, and evaluation of learning implemented. The research uses a multi-site qualitative approach, with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and document studies. Data were collected using validated instruments. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that the scope of Sirah's learning material taught at the intermediate level is generally relatively similar. The teaching resource at MATSA, Malaysia, uses the book "Kitab al Sirah al Nabawiyyah" by Yayasan Islam Kelantan. At Dayah Darul Muta'allimin, the "Kitab Khulashah Nurul Yaqin" by Syekh Umar Abdul Jabbar is used. Even so, the difference in the teaching resources used makes the learning of sirah in Dayah Darul Muta'allimin more traditional. The methods used are Arabic text translation techniques and storytelling techniques. The media used are Microsoft PowerPoint and the Kahoot application. The research contributes to the development of learning models in Islamic education. The learning model applied to modern Islamic educational institutions in Malaysia can be combined with Aceh's traditional educational learning model. Keywords: Sirah Learning, MATSA Malaysia, Dayah Darul Muta’allimin Aceh.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the use of kinesthetic and audio methods in Islamic education learning for blind children. Another objective is to determine the combination of the role of teachers as motivators, facilitators and evaluators in implementing these methods. The research approach used was qualitative with a case study method. Determination of sources was conducted using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data credibility testing was conducted using source triangulation, theoretical validity, independent analysis, and member checking. Data analysis was carried out by organizing the data, creating categories, determining themes and patterns, and seeking alternative explanations of the data. The results of the study indicate that the application of kinesthetic and audio methods uses five techniques, namely direct approach, repetition, practice breaks, turn rotation and memorization reinforcement. These techniques are applied adaptively depending on the psychological condition of students. The completeness of learning tools for children with special needs supports the application of kinesthetic-audio methods. Islamic education teachers play a role as motivators, facilitators and evaluators systematically and deliberatively. These three roles are combined to minimize learning barriers for blind children. Evaluation using the kinesthetic-audio method does not make students a single object in a repressive manner, but rather as a diagnostic process for aspects of teacher competence, method accuracy, and implementation of learning procedures.
