Abstract

Whitewashing of written literary works is a common occurrence in society these days. This practice is commonly referred to as "whitewashing" or "ecranization" of written works. This article compares the plotlines of the short story and the movie "Al Asadu Al Jai’” and identifies the alterations that the ecranization process brought forth in the film, which is available on the Qishashu Al Jaddah YouTube channel. This study uses ecranization theory to analyze its descriptive qualitative data. Albir Muthlaq's short story " Al Asadu Al Jai’" and the movie " Al Asadu Al Jai’" from the Qishashu Al Jaddah YouTube channel are the sources of the data. The findings of this study included the identification of variations in the story's characters, setting, and plot. Story elements can be moved, added, or shrunk in this way.

Abstract

This study examines the literary reception of Saadi Youssef's short story "Nicosia" among 14 fourth-semester undergraduate students of Arabic Language and Literature from the 2023 cohort at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, who are categorized as general readers. The literary reception approach highlights how literary works are received, experienced, and processed by readers, focusing on the interaction between text and reader in creating meaning. The short story was chosen due to its thematic relevance to the main character, Tahir's, journey in understanding identity and social reality amidst conflict, and its Arabic language level, which aligns with the respondents' proficiency. The research methodology combines quantitative methods for data processing and qualitative methods for describing results, with data collection conducted through open-ended questionnaires focusing on the short story's structural elements (characters, setting, theme, mandate) and reader responses. The objective of literary analysis is to obtain the full meaning of a literary work by analyzing and demonstrating the relationships between the elements of the material as well as investigating the morals of the short story under study through an analysis of its psychological, sociological, and structural elements. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents (79%) identified "Search for Identity" as the core plot, (79%) perceived the main theme as "Search for Identity and Alienation", the character Tahir is predominantly portrayed as introverted and reflective (71%), the contrast between bustling and alienated Damascus and Nicosia as a symbol of hope and recovery (86%). From the perspective of reader response and experience, 79% of respondents felt emotionally connected, 57% of respondents acknowledged that their personal experiences, and (79%) agreed that interpretations of literary works can vary due to differences in individual backgrounds and experiences. This is reinforced by Tahir's experience of alienation in Damascus and his efforts to find meaning and identity in the new environment of Nicosia. This research provides insight into how readers respond to the themes raised by Youssef in a broader social and cultural context, emphasizing the crucial role of the reader as an agent in shaping meaning in literary works.

Abstract

This research examines the role of majlis taklim in Islamic religious learning for migrants in Ternate City, focusing on applying the andragogy approach. Majelis Taklim serves as an informal space to strengthen the spiritual identity of migrants separated from their home environment. Through participatory and experiential approaches, majlis tackle provides flexibility in learning that allows the congregation to understand Islamic teachings applicable to daily life. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques in the study include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to collect data from several taklim assemblies in Ternate City, namely Majelis Taklim Walisongo, Jum'at Wage, Lailatul Iltima', and Jawara. The research findings indicate that majelis taklim are instrumental in preserving the religious identity of migrants, enhancing social connections, and offering worshipers the chance to deepen their spiritual understanding of the challenges they face in their lives. While this study focuses on a limited number of majelis taklims in Ternate City, the results contribute to the broader comprehension of experiential Islamic learning within migrant communities.Keywords:   Andragogy, Islamic Religious Learning, Majelis Taklim, Migrants, Religious Identity.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a contextual interpretation model that connects Quranic studies with social sciences to ensure the Quran's relevance in addressing contemporary social challenges. This study employs a qualitative method using a library research model. The findings show that through an interdisciplinary approach, the integration of Quranic teachings with modern social, cultural, political, and economic realities can be achieved. This contextual interpretation approach emphasizes not only a literal understanding but also an analysis of the historical and social contexts surrounding the revelation. The study highlights the importance of the maqashidy approach, which focuses on the objectives of Sharia, as a framework for interpreting the Quran to ensure its teachings remain relevant to issues such as social justice, gender equality, and human rights. Furthermore, the findings indicate that the contextual interpretation model provides a more applicable and dynamic understanding of the Quran, ensuring that its messages remain relevant and can be applied in the lives of Muslims in the modern era.

Abstract

Pèsapèyan ling-giling was one of the iconic local wisdom of Madura. This game was a miniature version of the bull race. In this game, wheels replaced the bull as the driving force. As a result, this game was suitable for players of all ages. This research aimed to explore mathematical concepts in the pèsapèyan ling-giling game. This research used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic research type. Researchers used taxonomic analysis to examine the internal structure of mathematical concepts within the stages of the pèsapèyan ling-giling game. The study showed that the pèsapèyan ling-giling game contained mathematical concepts in the stage of tool-making, game rules, gameplay, and playing field. The mathematical concepts found in pèsapèyan ling-giling were numbers (e.g. the concepts of order, ranking, estimation, and optimization), measurement (e.g. the concept of length, area, speed, and distance, geometry (e.g. the concepts of lines, rectangles, circles, blocks, symmetry, coordinates, and position), discrete mathematics (e.g. the concept of graphs, relations and functions, and combinatorics) proportion, and probability. Thus, the traditional game of pèsapèyan ling-giling could be a learning medium for these mathematical concepts at elementary and secondary schools.

Abstract

MA Miftahul Ulum Nagasari Congkop Tlambah Karang Penang Sampang Madura is one of the schools in Madura, which still showed the condition of students who were not accustomed to high-level thinking, including critical thinking skills, so that it had an impact on learning outcomes that were not optimal. This study aimed to determine the effect of PBL on critical thinking skills. The subjects of this study were students of class X A IPA and class X B IPA at MA Miftahul Ulum Nagasari Congkop Tlambah Karang Penang Sampang in the second semester of academic year2021/2022. This research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type. This research design used a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group research design. Critical thinking skills were measured using the critical thinking skills rubric, where critical thinking skills scoring was integrated with a written test. The technical analysis used was Quade's Rank with SPSS 28.00. The results of this study indicated that there was an effect of the PBL learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The effect size of PBL on students' critical thinking skills was 0.289.

Abstract

This study examines how religious moderation education is constructed at Pesantren Darul Falah Ternate using Peter L. Berger’s social construction theory. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Berger’s three-stage dialectical framework: externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The findings reveal that religious moderation construction occurs through interconnected dialectical processes. Externalization manifests through the kyai’s charismatic exemplarity and comprehensive pesantren regulations. Objectivation involves inter-generational interactions that institutionalize values through the concept of barakah and habitualization processes. Internalization integrates universal Islamic teachings with Ternate local wisdom, particularly the “torang basudara” brotherhood tradition, creating contextual religious moderation that resonates with students’ cultural identities. The study demonstrates that religious moderation is not a fixed concept but a continuous social construction involving complex interactions among institutional structures, charismatic authority, peer relationships, and cultural resources. This research contributes empirical evidence showing how pesantren successfully translate abstract theological concepts into lived practices through holistic socialization processes, offering insights for developing contextually appropriate religious moderation education models.

Abstract

Peneliti menemukan bahwa penerapan multi akad dalam proses Gadai Emas di Bank Jatim Syariah Capem Sampang melalui beberapa akad yaitu; akad Qardh, akad Rahn, dan akad ijarah sudah sesuai dengan Fatwa DSN-MUI atau sesuai dengan prinsip syariah, yaitu ada akad Qardh sebagai akad pemberian pinjaman murni pada nasabah, akad Rahn sebagai akad yang disepakati nasabah sebagai penyerahan barang jaminan untuk disimpan oleh Bank dengan diikuti akad selanjutnya yaitu akad ijarah sebagai akad yang melengkapi kontrak gadai dan alternative Bank untuk mendapatkan ujroh yang dihitung berdasarkan krakter jaminan. Dalam penelitian ini, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara studi dokumentatif dan wawancara langsung dengan account officer gadai sebagai pihak yang menangani proses pembiayaan Gadai Emas. Wawancara dilakukan untuk menggali informasi terkait permasalahan yang peneliti angkat. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskripstif kualitatif.

Abstract

Nisbah merupakan imbalan yang berhak diterima oleh kedua belah pihak yang terikat akad, Dalam akad pembiayaan MudharabahNisbah yang ditentukan harus hasil kesepakatan bersama bukan satu pihak saja dan ketentuan nisbah yang ada pada BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Pasean berdasarkan kesepakatan antara anggota dan pihak BMT. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yaitu proses penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata- kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang dapat diamati. Maka dari dalam Penetapan nisbah bagi hasil antara BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Pasean dengan anggota yaitu 70%-30% dengan mekanisme bagi hasil menggunakan profit sharing. Proses akad mudharabah merupakan salah satu proses akad antara pemilik modal dan pengelola, akad mudharabah dalam pembiayaannya tidak lepas dari operasional sistem bagi hasil dan apabila ingin melakukan pinjaman maka harus melalui ketentuan yang berlaku di BMT UGT Nusantara Capem Pasean sebagai berikut : 1. Kelayakan Usaha, 2. Analisis Kelayakan Anggota, 3. Nilai Modal Pokok, 4. Jangka Waktu Pinjaman (Tempo).
