Abstract

Implementation of physical education is allowed to modify instructional media. Physical education requires facilities and infrastructure specifically designed to promote physical activity. The aim of this research is to develop adjustments to basketball facilities and infrastructure for children aged 10-12 years through anthropometric comparisons. This research uses simple development research because it is still in the form of an initial design. The total research sample involved was 691 people. The sample underwent height, arm span, leg length, and finger span measurements. The results are that the comparison ratio of facilities and infrastructure for adults and children aged 10-12 years is the same as the anthropometric ratio of the study sample. Sports facilities and infrastructure adjustments are indispensable to the growth and development of children aged 10-12. By providing spaces where children can engage in physical activities tailored to their age and interests, we lay the foundation for healthy lifestyles, holistic skill development, cognitive growth, and emotional well-being.

Abstract

Developing basic locomotor skills is crucial for elementary students, yet conventional teaching methods at SDN 1 Boyolali have led to low engagement and suboptimal outcomes. This study explores the "Motion Circuit" play-based model as a solution, using fun and interactive activities to create a more engaging learning environment for locomotor skills. Through Classroom Action Research (CAR), the model is applied in planning, action, observation, and reflection cycles, allowing for real-time assessment and refinement of teaching strategies. CAR’s structured, collaborative approach supports skill acquisition and effective learning, which the "Motion Circuit" model aims to achieve at SDN 1 Boyolali. Over two research cycles, results showed a significant increase in competencies across affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains, with outcomes of 100% affective, 82.86% cognitive, and 97.14% psychomotor benchmarks achieved by Cycle II. This engaging model proved highly effective for improving student motivation, comprehension, and physical skills, making it a valuable alternative to traditional Physical Education methods by promoting skill acquisition and a positive learning attitude.

Abstract

The lack of teaching approaches tailored to students' skill levels often hinders the development of sports abilities, including drive stroke proficiency in tennis. This study aims to analyze the differences in the effectiveness of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach compared to classical methods in improving drive stroke skills. The research utilized an experimental method with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The sample consisted of 64 randomly selected students, and data collection employed the Forehand Groundstroke Tennis Test Accuracy by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 25.0, including prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity (α = 0.05) and factorial analysis. The results revealed that the TaRL approach significantly influenced drive stroke skills compared to the classical approach (Sig = 0.00 < 0.05). However, no significant differences were found based on arm muscle power and gender (Sig = 0.667 > 0.05), nor were there interactions among teaching approach, arm muscle power, and gender on drive stroke skills (Sig = 0.490 > 0.05). This study concludes that the TaRL approach is more effective than the classical method in improving drive stroke skills. These findings underscore the importance of implementing teaching methods tailored to students' abilities to optimize sports learning outcomes.

Abstract

Identity crises are common in adolescence, which can lead to destructive behavior. Sport affects behavior indirectly through positive competitive attitudes and negative stereotypical destructive behavior. This study analyzes sports education on self-esteem in special and regular sports education. This type of research is quantitative, with an ex post facto approach. The subjects in the study were 200 respondents consisting of special sports class (KKO) students, regular class students, and parents/guardians of ninth-grade junior high school students. The data collection technique used a self-esteem questionnaire from the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Test the instrument's validity with Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, while the instrument reliability test uses Cronbach's Alpha technique. The data analysis technique used is a one-way ANOVA test. The results showed that there were differences between KKO and regular students. Student participation, especially adolescents at the junior high school (SMP) level in sports activities, has a high level of tendency. The existence of special sports classes (KKO) whose curriculum is designed systematically and structured to implement sports training programs and harmonious general education has a psychological effect on adolescent students. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of sports education on self-esteem in KKO students. This research implies that sports education that is managed properly has a positive impact on adolescents.

Abstract

The learning approach plays a crucial role in enhancing technical skills in tennis. However, in practice, theoretical approaches are often overlooked, as most sports activities are carried out directly on the court. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effects of various learning approaches and physical factors on tennis drive stroke skills. Specifically, the study analyzed the impact of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach, the influence of arm muscle strength and gender, as well as the interaction among these factors on the improvement of drive stroke performance. An experimental method with a 2×2 factorial design was employed, involving 64 student participants. Drive stroke performance was assessed using the Forehand Groundstroke Tennis Test Accuracy (Jennifer Love Hewitt Test). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0, with normality and homogeneity tests set at α = 0.05. The results indicated that the TaRL learning method yielded Sig. = 0.00 < 0.05, suggesting that this method can enhance technical performance in tennis. Furthermore, arm muscle strength and gender obtained Sig. = 0.667 > 0.05, indicating that physical strength and gender do not play a critical role in drive stroke outcomes. Finally, no interaction was found among learning approach, arm muscle strength, and gender on drive stroke skills, with Sig. = 0.490 > 0.05. These findings highlight the importance of personalized learning strategies over physical attributes in developing skills for the tennis drive stroke.
