Abstract

This community service is the result of research in 2022 which will be poured on community service on the fasum land in Pondok Harapan Indah housing, Jalan Sigura-Gura Malang. Installation of pipes and sprinkler nozzles based on distance and height according to the type of plant that exists. With the potential for water sources and limited land area, farmers' businesses are expected to be able to utilize water efficiently. The sprinkler irrigation system is thought to be an alternative in the provision of irrigation and for this reason it is necessary to test the ability of the irrigation system to vary the distance between the sprinklers and the high sticks to the irrigation radius and its uniformity within a few minutes duration. For a stick height of 1 m with the same sprinkler spacing, a uniformity coefficient of less than 80% is obtained and the optimal irrigation radius is with an average spacing of 6 meters

Abstract

The construction sector in Timor-Leste plays a vital role in supporting national development and economic growth, primarily through infrastructure projects financed by the government and international donors. However, the implementation of construction contracts in the country frequently encounters various nonconformities, such as delays, technical specification changes, differing interpretations of contract clauses, and cost overruns. These issues reflect weaknesses in contract management systems and the lack of systematic strategies to manage nonconformities during project execution. This study employs a Scoping Review approach to map globally reported strategies for managing construction contract nonconformities and to identify knowledge gaps in developing country contexts, particularly Timor-Leste. The review process follows the PRISMA-ScR guideline, encompassing literature searches in Scopus, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar databases covering publications from 2000 to 2025. The findings reveal that management strategies for contract nonconformities can be categorized into three main groups: preventive strategies (risk prevention through clear contract design and early communication), resolutive strategies (dispute handling via claims, mediation, and dispute boards), and adaptive strategies (contract flexibility and collaborative approaches). The study highlights the importance of adapting global best practices to the local context of Timor-Leste, taking into account institutional capacity, contractual regulations, and human resource competence. The findings are expected to serve as a foundation for developing more effective contract management policies and practices within Timor-Leste’s construction sector.

Abstract

The rapid growth of urban vehicle ownership has intensified traffic congestion and decreased mobility efficiency, particularly at unsignalized intersections, which remain common in developing countries. These intersections, lacking automated control mechanisms, often experience high delays, long queues, and increased accident risks. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to synthesize research developments on traffic engineering management models aimed at optimizing unsignalized intersections using multi-objective analysis. Following the PRISMA framework, 48 peer-reviewed articles published between 2013 and 2026 were systematically analyzed from major databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. The findings reveal a significant evolution from single-objective to multi-objective optimization approaches, emphasizing trade-offs between efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. The most frequently applied algorithms include NSGA-II, PSO, and Fuzzy-MCDM, often integrated with simulation tools like VISSIM and SIDRA Intersection. Recent trends indicate growing adoption of AI-driven and machine learning-based hybrid models, enabling adaptive and real-time traffic management. However, research gaps remain, particularly regarding model validation under mixed traffic conditions and real-world implementation using IoT-based traffic data. This study contributes to both theory and practice by providing a structured overview of optimization frameworks and identifying future research directions toward developing adaptive, data-driven, and context-sensitive models. The results serve as a foundation for designing intelligent traffic management systems that improve the performance and safety of unsignalized intersections while supporting sustainable urban mobility.

Abstract

This management is a result of community service, a 2022 research project that will be incorporated into community service at Malang National Vocational School. This involves installing sprinkler pipes and nozzles based on the distance and height of the existing plants, using flexible pipes. Because the park is located near a basketball court, the flexible pipes were replaced with permanent pipes for safety. Because our partners are still using manual irrigation, we will be developing an automated system, namely sprinkler irrigation. Surface irrigation is implemented in Indonesia because agricultural land used to have abundant water, while currently, the amount is decreasing. An irrigation system that increases the effectiveness and efficiency of water use is one solution needed to maintain land productivity, one of which is a sprinkler irrigation system. Sprinkler irrigation systems are generally applied to crops with high economic value. This includes determining the layout design of the sprinkler irrigation network, the required capacity of the sprinkler irrigation network, and the appropriate pump type for planning the sprinkler irrigation system. Based on the results of community service activities carried out at SMK Nasional Malang, namely sprinkler irrigation in the park, which produces results, namely the efficiency of garden irrigation water and makes it easier for users, it can be concluded that: the level of user enthusiasm is very high, this is realized by coming to the location on time with a very strong motivation to gain some understanding and insight related to Sprinkler irrigation. The evaluation results show that the increase in air efficiency is very good, namely 50%.

Abstract

The rapid growth of motorized vehicles in Mataram City, which is projected to exceed 560 thousand units by 2025, has led to increasing traffic congestion, particularly at Kebon Roek signalized intersection, located at junction Saleh Sungkar and Adi Sucipto Road. The existing traffic condition at this intersection indicates a relatively high level of saturation, with the degree of saturation during certain periods approaching or exceeding the critical threshold (DS ? 0.85). Furthermore, based on data from the Regional Infrastructure Development Plan (RPIW) 2022, the traffic performance of each intersection approach remains suboptimal, characterized by Level of Service (LOS) category D on the Adi Sucipto approach, LOS D on the Saleh Sungkar I approach, and LOS E on the Saleh Sungkar II approach. These conditions do not meet the minimum service standards required for primary arterial roads. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of constructing a flyover as a long-term solution to vertically separate traffic flows and improve intersection capacity. Traffic performance analysis was conducted using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (PKJI) 2023. The results show that under existing conditions, the intersection experiences a maximum delay of 157.9 s/pcu, resulting in an overall Level of Service of F, which reflects very poor traffic conditions. Following the implementation of the flyover, the intersection performance improves significantly, with the Level of Service increasing from LOS F to LOS B. This improvement is consistent with the minimum service standards for primary arterial roads, which require stable traffic flow and relatively smooth vehicle movement.

Abstract

The Oro-Oro Dowo Market area in Malang City faces severe traffic congestion due to vehicle volumes exceeding road capacity and high side friction, with the Degree of Saturation (DS) on Brigjen Slamet Riyadi Street reaching over 0.8. In response, the Malang City Government implemented a One-Way System (SSA) to reduce the volume-to-capacity ratio and support the Car Free Day (CFD) program. However, this policy has led to a 30% decrease in market visitors due to inefficient detours and increased travel time. Analysis of four key intersections—Guntur, B.S. Riyadi, Buring, and Merbabu—identifies the B.S. Riyadi intersection as the critical congestion point. Results using the PKJI 2023 method show that during the afternoon peak hour, this intersection experiences its highest delay, exceeding 200 seconds/pcu, indicating a Level of Service (LOS) of F (saturated flow). These findings are validated by PTV Vissim microsimulation modeling, which shows delays over 100 seconds and an LOS of F. This significant difference occurs because PKJI 2023 uses static calculations based on an average empirical formula, while PTV Vissim uses microscopic simulations that dynamically model interactions between vehicles.
