Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the LAMDIK accreditation system at a leading State Islamic University in Indonesia, focusing on institutional readiness, implementation challenges, and the extent to which accreditation reforms have fostered a sustainable quality culture. Method: A qualitative case study approach was employed within the Early Childhood Islamic Education (ECIE) program at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Data were collected through semi structured interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s (2014) interactive model data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing supported by triangulation and member checking to ensure validity. Results: The findings reveal a moderate level of implementation success. The university achieved structural compliance with LAMDIK standards meeting lecturer qualifications, curriculum alignment, and operational SPMI systems but struggled with deep cultural internalization of quality principles. Limited doctoral qualified lecturers, fragmented data management, and inconsistent communication across units were identified as major barriers. Nevertheless, institutional initiatives in digital accreditation systems, curriculum revision, and quality assurance mark tangible progress. Novelty: This study extends Edwards III’s policy implementation framework to the context of Islamic higher education accreditation, showing that accreditation success depends not only on compliance but also on organizational learning and cultural transformation. The findings highlight how UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya is transitioning from procedural compliance toward a developing quality driven academic culture.

Abstract

Background: The establishment of Nusantara (IKN) as Indonesia’s new capital represents a monumental endeavor in urban development, explicitly aiming to be a “smart city.” However, the global challenge for smart cities lies not merely in deploying technology, but in creating governance structures that effectively integrate these digital systems with inclusive, genuine citizen participation. This research addresses the critical gap in how IKN’s smart city ambitions will be governed, focusing on the essential synergy between technological infrastructure and participatory democracy. Purpose: This study aims to develop and propose a comprehensive governance framework specifically tailored for IKN Nusantara. The objective is to conceptualize a model that operationalizes the integration of advanced technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, big data) with robust mechanisms for citizen engagement in policy-making and urban management. Methods: A qualitative, constructive research design was employed. The framework was developed through a rigorous analysis of existing global smart city governance models, a systematic review of IKN’s foundational policy documents, and in-depth, semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, including urban planners, technology experts, and civil society representatives. Results: The primary outcome is the “IKN Integrated Governance Framework” (IGF). This framework identifies four critical pillars: (1) A unified data and technology platform, (2) Multi-channel citizen participation portals (digital and physical), (3) Data-driven, transparent decision-making processes, and (4) Adaptive regulatory oversight. The findings emphasize that a technology-first approach without embedded participation mechanisms risks creating an exclusionary, top-down city. Conclusion: The proposed framework provides an essential blueprint for IKN to avoid the pitfalls of “techno-solutionism.” By structurally embedding citizen participation within the technological architecture, Nusantara can pioneer a smart city governance model that is not only efficient and intelligent but also human-centric, resilient, and democratically accountable.

Abstract

Sustainable village planning has become a major focus in Indonesia's national development strategy. The concept aims to create rural communities that are resilient, self-reliant, and able to meet the needs of the current generation without compromising future generations' ability to meet their own needs. This study aims to present a governance model for stakeholder collaboration to strengthen sustainable village planning, discussed at the musrenbang forum, starting at the village, sub-district, district/city, and provincial levels. The formulation of village planning involves stakeholders (government, private sector, civil society, universities, and mass media) that can provide input, outcomes, and benefits for sustainable village development planning. This research uses a qualitative, descriptive approach. The analysis of the collaboration model seeks to involve stakeholders in the decision-making process and its implementation. With the Collaboration model for village planning, sustainable village development can be realized. The key to the success of collaboration lies in the commitment of all parties to participate actively.

Abstract

The adoption of medication delivery services by hospitals in Indonesia reflects a significant upward trend in the transformation of the national healthcare landscape. This development is largely driven by the increasing demand for patient convenience and equitable access to essential medicines, alongside the rapid advancement of digital health technologies and the disruption of traditional healthcare systems, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. To explore this phenomenon, this study employed a systematic literature review method, analyzing diverse sources comprising government reports, hospital websites, official social media posts, online news articles, and prior research. The objective was to synthesize findings on how Indonesian hospitals—both public and private—have implemented and digitalized their Patient Home Medication Delivery Programs (PHMDPs). Key findings reveal a growing prevalence of PHMDPs, supported by various delivery models, ranging from internal logistics systems to partnerships with third-party couriers and telemedicine platforms. Digitalization emerges as a central enabler, facilitating seamless integration of e-prescriptions, automated logistics, and mobile health applications. Despite the growing adoption, the regulatory framework remains in flux, and hospitals face several challenges, including logistical complexity, compliance issues, and cost sustainability. This study contributes a comprehensive overview of PHMDPs in Indonesia, highlighting best practices and offering insights for scalable, patient-centered innovations in digital pharmaceutical services.

Abstract

This study explores the practice of public governance through the co-production model initiated by non-governmental actors in Kampung Lali Gadget (KLG), Sidoarjo, East, Indonesia. Rooted in the increasing concerns over children's gadget addiction and the erosion of local cultural literacy, this research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach to examine how community-driven initiatives can serve as alternative forms of public service delivery. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis involving community leaders, volunteers, parents, and local institutions. Findings indicate that KLG represents a form of citizen-initiated co-production, in which local youth and civil society actively engage in designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based educational services. The integration of traditional games, cultural learning, and environmental interaction has proven effective in reshaping children's behavior, enhancing community cohesion, and stimulating local economic activities. KLG's governance structure demonstrates adaptive capabilities, with layered evaluation mechanisms aligned with network governance principles. The study concludes that co-production by non-governmental actors, when grounded in local wisdom and social innovation, can provide sustainable public services that are educationally transformative, socially inclusive, and economically empowering. It also contributes to expanding the literature on co-production in community-based education and offers a replicable model for other regions facing similar sociocultural challenges.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Jember Regency, despite the implementation of various intervention programs by national and local governments. This study aims to identify and analyze the key factors that hinder efforts to reduce stunting rates in the region. Employing a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with local stakeholders, healthcare workers, and community members, the research reveals several major barriers, including low nutritional literacy, disparities in access to healthcare services, weak intersectoral coordination, and limited resources and supporting infrastructure. Additionally, entrenched cultural practices and inadequate parenting patterns perpetuate the intergenerational cycle of stunting, child marriage, or early marriage. The findings highlight the urgency of adopting an integrated, community-based approach and strengthening monitoring and evaluation systems to accelerate and sustain the reduction of stunting in Jember.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the sustainability of the clothing merchant business in the Modern Era by focusing on three variables, namely entrepreneurial literacy, digital literacy and business sustainability. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomonological approach, and uses data collection techniques by interviews, direct observation of the research object. Then this research used 3 informants as research subjects, where these informants were the 3 most famous traders and had the largest business turnover in Makassar City. The Interaction Analysis Model uses concepts from Miles and Huberman. The research results show that the entrepreneurial literacy and digital literacy of clothing traders in this modern era can be categorized as good enough to support the development of these clothing traders. This is because traders have an understanding of the business they are establishing, never neglect in carrying out their obligations and things that could disrupt the continuity of their business. Meanwhile, business continuity shows that the clothing merchant business can be categorized as quite good, because it can develop and run well in line with increasingly modern developments.
