Abstract

Abstract

The development of social media has provided a new space for social interaction, but also brings challenges in the form of online gender-based violence. One form is sexual harassment in the form of negative comments on social media. This study aims to determine public perceptions of sexual harassment on social media through a case study of negative comments on the account of Azizah Shalsa, a young influencer in Indonesia. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that sexual harassment is still not considered a serious issue by some people, especially due to gender bias, low digital literacy, and lack of legal awareness. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of public education and law enforcement to create a safe and fair digital space.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth how financial transparency, the application of managerial ethics, and the accuracy of production cost calculations influence business practices among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through open-ended interviews, direct field observations, and analysis of relevant documents. The findings indicate that a lack of financial transparency hinders effective decision-making. On the other hand, the consistent application of ethical managerial principles significantly contributes to fostering harmonious relationships with stakeholders. Inaccurate cost calculations also lead to improper pricing strategies and decreased operational efficiency. These three elements are interrelated and collectively contribute to building a professional and sustainable business management system. The study highlights the importance of strengthening MSME managerial capacity through collaboration among government institutions, business actors, and support organizations, particularly in the areas of financial literacy, ethical business conduct, and cost efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how interpersonal communication strategies and self-management are carried out by Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM) students who work part-time in achieving work-life balance. This research is important considering that students are in the transition phase towards adulthood, where academic, social, and economic demands are increasingly complex. This research approach was qualitative with a case study type. The theory used was Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory to explain work motivation and the interpersonal communication approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and observations of five informants who are active UTM students working part-time for at least the last 3 months. Informants were selected using purposive sampling technique based on the relevance of the criteria, and assisted with snowball sampling if needed. The results showed that part-time students experience challenges in balancing academic and work activities. However, they usde adaptive interpersonal communication strategies and good self-management in dealing with work and study demands. This study emphasizes the importance of time management and social support in maintaining the work-life balance of working students.

Abstract

Physical education plays a vital role in developing students’ motor skills, physical abilities, and knowledge, while also fostering positive attitudes toward active lifestyles. Interest and motivation are essential factors influencing learning outcomes in physical education (PJOK) at the elementary school level. This study aims to analyze students’ interest and motivation in participating in PJOK learning. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design with purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 20 students from a population of 110, selected based on low initial motivation and interest in PJOK. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through percentage techniques. Results revealed that learning readiness (73%), personal interest (74%), teacher’s influence (71%), social support (78%), and ideals/aspirations (74%) were categorized as good. Meanwhile, the learning environment (65%), student ability (65%), physical condition (64%), and dynamic elements (67%) were categorized as sufficient. Overall, students’ interest and motivation in PJOK learning reached the “good” category, with an average of 70%. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening instructional strategies to enhance motivation and engagement. The study provides valuable insights for PJOK teachers to design more effective and supportive learning environments.

Abstract

Green mustard is a leading agricultural commodity in Indonesia but often faces pest attacks such as Spodoptera litura, which can reduce productivity by up to 85%. This study aims to develop an automated pesticide sprayer prototype using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) technology with the VGG19 architecture. The system utilizes Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP8266, and a camera to detect pests in real-time and accurately spray pesticides. The dataset used consists of 1,380 images, divided into 10% for testing, 25% for validation, and 75% for training. The model evaluation values for the ‘mustard with pests’ class achieved precision, recall, and F1-Score of 96% each, while for the ‘mustard without pests’ class they were 95% each. In addition, the MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) value of 4.61% shows that the percentage error of the model prediction is very small. The developed VGG19 model achieved an accuracy of 95% and high efficiency after conversion to the TFLite format, reducing model size by 75.57%. This tool is highly recommended to enhance farmers' work efficiency, reduce excessive pesticide use, and support sustainable agriculture. Its ability to operate autonomously and precisely makes it an ideal solution to assist farmers regarding pest problems.
