Abstract

Stunting Incidence Over the Past Decade with 148.1 Million (22.3 Percent of Children Under 5 Years of Age Worldwide Affected) in 2022. Indonesia is included in the Third Country with the Highest Prevalence of Stunting Cases at 36.4%. The purpose of PkM is to provide health education related to stunting, its causes and prevention. In addition, it also introduced an information system related to stunting calculations. The community service activity was attended by all participants who attended a total of 53 health cadres of the Benda Baru Health Center. Activities still need to have more audience members so that the results are wider and more beneficial. The output of the implementation or solution as an indicator of the success of the program is to ask participants about the material explained during the PkM, namely the definition, causes, impacts, stunting prevention and also about calculations using stunting calculators. PkM is running smoothly. The results of the post-test score have increased compared to the pre-test score. This shows that there is an increase in public knowledge after counseling is carried out. The results of this community service are useful as a contribution of knowledge to Nursing and Public Health Promotion and Education Health Providing knowledge about stunting is expected to make children free from malnutrition and stunting.

Abstract

As of March 31, 2020, Indonesia reported 1,528 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 136 deaths and a case fatality rate (CFR) of 8.9%. Covid-19 pandemic limited activities, including the dissemination of information; thus, an intensive education was required to build community preparedness. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of counseling through WhatsApp on the preparedness of Villa Pamulang Depok community in dealing with Covid-19. This study used an analytical quasi-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design method. The samples of this study amounted to 44 people who were selected by proportional sample technique. The respondents received education via WhatsApp for 14 days. The effects of information dissemination through WhatsApp was measured by using paired sample t-test. The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between the spread of Covid-19 information via WhatsApp on the community preparedness at Villa Pamulang Depok in facing Covid-19 with p-value 0.004. The findings also showed the difference of Covid-19 preparedness before and after providing information about Covid-19 through WhatsApp. This research was expected to enrich knowledge of community preparedness as an effort of Covid-19 prevention.

Abstract

According to an analysis conducted by the World Bank Group, WHO, and UNICEF, around 144 million children who are under the age of five (21.3%) were affected by stunting worldwide in 2019. By 2022, this figure had risen to an estimated 148.1 million children (22.3%). This study aims to evaluate the health promotion interventions utilizing a prototype of a stunting health information system and a 3D pageflip e-module in enhancing attitudes and knowledge for the prevention of stunting in South Tangerang. This study applied a quantitative approach combined with a quasi-experimental design, utilizing a two-group design with a pretest and post-test measurements framework. A total of 106 individuals surveyed were included, divided equally into two groups: one group received the prototype stunting health information system intervention, and the other was provided with the 3D Pageflip e-module, comprising 53 participants for every group. The Wilcoxon test showed the prototype of the stunting health information system group showed a significant difference for knowledge (p = 0.046) and attitude (p = 0.025), and the 3D pageflip e-module group showed a significant difference in knowledge and attitude (p = 0.000). The Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a significant difference for knowledge (p = 0.000) and for attitude (p = 0.042). The effect size test for knowledge is 1.06 and for attitude 0.27. It can be concluded that the prototype of the stunting health information system and the 3D pageflip e-module effectively increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes regarding stunting prevention. Keywords: Prototype, Stunting Health Information System, 3D Pageflip E Module, Knowledge, Preventive, Attitude

Abstract

Background: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common problem in the medical, psychological, and even educational fields. ADHD is the third most common mental illness after depression and anxiety disorders. Indonesia has a population of 82 million children, with one in five children and adolescents under 18 experiencing mental health problems, including ADHD. Therefore, it is important to develop positive stimulation media for children with ADHD. Purpose: To develop and test the effectiveness of positive stimulation media that is easy to use while introducing Indonesian culture to attract the interest of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Method: This research uses a mixed method exploratory research that combines quantitative and qualitative research approaches. 3D Pop Up Book media and culturally based educational animated films are packaged according to the child's age category with attractive colors and storylines with typical Indonesian characters complete with accents and batik. So that children will be able to focus more and stimulate their brain function. Results: This research has successfully developed 3D Pop Up Book media and culturally based educational animated films designed to support positive stimulation for children with ADHD. The development process began with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with psychologists, pediatricians, health promotion experts, animators, teachers, and parents of children with ADHD, which generated input regarding media needs, visual design, and appropriate cultural content. The FGD results emphasized the importance of media that is engaging, easy to understand, and able to channel children's energy through visual and motor activities. Testing on children with ADHD showed significant changes in distractible behavior. In the pretest, 33.3% of children were in the low category, 40% in the medium category, and 26.7% in the high category. After the intervention, the proportion increased in the low category (53.3%) and decreased in the high category (16.7%). Analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a p-value of 0.049, indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention. Conclusion: These findings indicate that this culture-based media is not only innovative but also effective in reducing distractible behavior in children with ADHD.
