Abstract

Proses berpikir komputasional merupakan proses berpikir yang penting untuk dimiliki siswa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan cerita aljabar. Berpikir komputasional memiliki beberapa indikator yaitu dekomposisi, pengenalan pola, berpikir algoritmik dan generalisasi pola abstraksi. Dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita aljabar siswa akan mengalami perbedaan proses berpikir komputasi akibat perbedaan gaya berpikir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir komputasi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita aljabar berdasarkan gaya berpikir abstrak sekuensial dan acak abstrak. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 4 siswa kelas 7 yang terdiri dari 2 siswa dengan gaya berpikir abstrak sekuensial, dan 2 siswa dengan gaya berpikir abstrak acak. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis dan wawancara yang dianalisis berdasarkan indikator berpikir komputasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya berpikir sekuensial abstrak memenuhi seluruh indikator berpikir komputasional, sedangkan siswa dengan gaya berpikir sekuensial abstrak hanya memenuhi indikator dekomposisi

Abstract

Learning mathematics experiences several problems, one of them is problems related to problem solving skills, the researchers applied the RME approach that presented a real-world context so that students could construct their own understanding with the help of live worksheets as an assisted media for mathematics learning. The existence of an approach that is applied using developing technology is expected to have trained students to solve problems properly and correctly. This study to develop learning tools that can develop mathematical problem solving skills with realistic mathematics education (RME) approach assisted by live worksheet application. This type is a Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). This research was applied to 8th-A grade students at SMPN 1 Baureno Bojonegoro as many as 32 students. Data were collected using several techniques, field notes, validation, and tests. The results of data analysis showed that based on the indicators determined by researchers, the learning device was declared "valid" in terms of (1) the total average validity of the lesson plan of 3.93 which was included in the "valid" criteria, and (2) e-LKPD of 4.192 which was included in the "very valid" criteria. The learning device is expressed as "practical" at criterion "B" with an average total practicality score of 82.045 which means it can be used with minor revisions. The learning device was expressed "effective" to develop mathematical problem solving skills based on the average test score of all students of 85.46 with a percentage of classical completeness of more than 75%, which is 81.25%. This study recommends the use of RME assisted by live worksheets to develop problem solving skills, especially for junior high school students.  Keywords: Live Worksheet; Problem Solving; RME Approach

Abstract

Mathematical connections are one of the five standards in mathematics learning and must have by students in the 21st century. Mathematics learning using culture (ethnomathematics) has a positive impact on students' mathematical understanding. Therefore, this research focuses on students' mathematical connections in solving ethnomathematics problems in terms of high mathematical abilities. This research aims to describe students' mathematical connections in solving ethnomathematics problems in terms of high mathematical abilities. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research were four mathematics education students at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya who had the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) of more than 3,5. Data was collected through written tests and interviews. The written test was used to reveal students' mathematical connection skills in solving Arek culture ethnomathematics problems. The interview used data triangulation by comparing students' answers when completing the test with what is revealed and deepening the results of the written test if there is something that needs to be confirmed. Next, the data is grouped and analyzed according to mathematical connection indicators. Based on the results of this analysis, it was found that the mathematical connections of students who had high mathematical abilities in solving ethnomathematics problems were in the less and very less categories. Meanwhile, the types of mathematical connections in the four subjects in solving ethnomathematics problems are procedural connections, comprehension connections, and equivalent representation connections.

Abstract

Penalaran adaptif merupakan proses berpikir secara logis yang mana menghubungkan konsep dan situasi dalam memberikan alasan dan memeriksa suatu argumen. Gaya kognitif dan kecerdasan emosional akan mempengaruhi siswa dalam memahami permasalahan. Banyak siswa yang menggunakan penalaran hafalan dan kesulitan menemukan pola dan kesimpulan berdasarkan soal yang diberikan, terutama dalam menyelesaikan soal Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan penalaran adaptif peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal HOTS berdasarkan gaya kognitif dan kecerdasan emosional. Indikator penalaran adaptif yang digunakan yaitu menyusun dugaan, memeriksa argumen dari soal yang diberikan, memberikan jawaban dengan menemukan model matematis, dan memeriksa jawaban dengan penarikan kesimpulan berdasarkan penyelesaian soal yang diberikan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelompok peserta didik dengan gaya kognitif field dependent (FD) dan field independent (FI) dimana masing-masing terdiri dari dua peserta didik yang memiliki kecerdasan emosional tinggi dan dua kecerdasan emosional rendah dari kelas VIII MTsN 6 Ponorogo. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes penalaran adaptif dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik yang memiliki tingkat kecerdasan emosional tinggi relatif dapat memahami konteks soal dengan baik sehingga dapat merencanakan dalam menyelesaikan soal. Sedangkan peserta didik dengan tingkat kecerdasan emosional rendah relatif belum memahami konteks dengan baik, sehingga belum merencanakan dalam menyelesaikan soal dengan perhitungan yang tepat atas soal yang diberikan.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is crucial for addressing student diversity and ensuring all students have equal opportunities to achieve their learning objectives. Therefore, it is essential that teachers understand and implement these strategies in the classroom. This study analyzes Islamic primary school (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah/MI) teachers' understanding of differentiated learning. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research involved 54 MI teachers (10 male and 44 female) from 34 MI schools in Babat Lamongan, East Java. Instruments included written tests and interviews. The written test featured a pre-test and post-test via the Quizizz application, while interviews followed the differentiated learning training. Data analysis combined quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative results showed that the MI teachers' conceptual understanding, measured by the N-gain score, was 0.078, categorizing it as low. However, qualitative findings revealed that, post-training, MI teachers demonstrated a solid understanding of all indicators: explaining concepts, identifying characteristics, providing examples and non-examples, and applying differentiated learning strategies. The study concludes that training in differentiated learning significantly enhances teachers' understanding. Regular and consistent training is recommended to sustain and further develop teachers' expertise in this area.

Abstract

Siswa yang memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis tinggi akan lebih mudah dalam mengatasi persoalan ataupun permasalahan secara lebih efektif dan efisien, dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis rendah. Berdasarkan indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis menurut Facione, yang terdiri atas interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, inferensi, eksplanasi, dan regulasi diri, ditemukan beberapa permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII UPT SMPN 14 Gresik. Beberapa permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa, yaitu siswa masih sulit untuk memahami materi yang sudah diajarkan, siswa masih kesulitan dalam menjawab soal uraian yang diberikan, dan siswa masih kesulitan dalam mengungkapkan alasan saat menjawab persoalan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII UPT SMPN 14 Gresik pada materi sistem tata surya, serta mengidentifikasi keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada indikator interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, inferensi, eksplanasi, dan regulasi diri, melalui penggunaan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VIII UPT SMPN 14 Gresik, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 siswa, menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Hasil data penelitian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII UPT SMPN 4 Gresik pada materi sistem tata surya diperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 42,33 yang masuk dalam kategori cukup kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada indikator interpretasi dan regulasi diri memperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 27,5 yang masuk dalam kategori kurang kritis; pada indikator analisis dan regulasi diri, siswa memperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 34,16 yang masuk dalam kategori kurang kritis; pada indikator evaluasi dan regulasi diri, siswa memperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 57,5 yang masuk dalam kategori cukup kritis; pada indikator inferensi dan regulasi diri, siswa memperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 54,16 yang masuk dalam kategori cukup kritis; pada indikator eksplanasi dan regulasi diri, siswa memperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 38,33 yang masuk dalam kategori kurang kritis.

Abstract

Penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang terlalu monoton menyebabkan siswa kurang mampu dalam memahami suatu pembelajaran secara mendalam. Akibatnya, siswa memiliki hasil belajar yang masih tergolong rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Peterongan Jombang mengalami peningkatan setelah diterapkannya metode pembelajaran kooperatif Jigsaw dan memabandingkan dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Untuk memperoleh data digunakan pedoman wawancara, observasi, dan tes. Instrumen yang dibuat oleh peneliti yakni berupa lembar tes pemahaman siswa, untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang telah disampaikan. Selain itu, peneliti juga menyusun pedoman wawancara untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait pembelajaran dan kurikulum yang dipakai di SMP Negeri 3 Peterongan Jombang. Hasil penerapan metode jigsaw terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Peterongan. Penggunaan metode kooperatif jigsaw terbukti meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa sebesar 20%.

Abstract

According to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NTCM), students must own geometry capabilities. However, the ability of students to understand geometry is still too low, which causes understanding concepts and skills. Students geometry ability in breakdown problems are still very weak, and geometry is taught less to students with abilities. According to Van Hiele, learning geometry has three main elements: time, materials, and teaching methods. This study aims to describe the development of learning devices based on Van Hiele's theory that can accelerate students' understanding of geometry material. This research is a development research. The learning tools developed, lesson plans, and student books were created using the ADDIE model. Subject in study this is student class VII of UPT SMP Negeri 11 Gresik. Data collection techniques use notes field, questionnaire, and test understanding geometry. Quality results development device learning must fulfill three criteria that are validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1. valid (average total validity of RPP is 4.17 and average total validity of  book student by 4.29); 2. practical (average value A ( can used without revision ) for aspect theory, and average percentage mark response student, namely 90.6% (very positive ) for aspect practice ; 3. effective (percentage completeness all over student by 92.59%). The developed Van Hielel theory-based learning device can accelerate students' understanding of geometry material and meet the valid, practical, and effective criteria

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are a key indicator for measuring educational achievement. The level of academic performance reflects the extent to which students have successfully achieved their educational goals. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence students’ academic achievement. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo, specifically involving students from class X E 3. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Qualitative data were obtained from interviews and students' midterm exam (PTS) results. Data collection was carried out in three stages: observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study reveal that the learning outcomes of students at SMAN 1 Taman were not met due to two main factors. These two primary factors influencing academic performance are internal and external factors. The internal factor that affected students’ academic achievement was time management. The external factors included ineffective teaching methods, last-minute distribution of study guides, limited time for completing exams, inconsistency between the study guide and the exam questions, and a new exam application system for grade X students, which caused various difficulties.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores Madrasah Ibtidaiyah teachers' understanding of mathematical concepts and numeracy literacy based on gender and working period. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the study involved one male and two female teachers with less than 10 years of working period and one male and two female teachers with more than 10 years of working period. Data were collected through tests and interviews. Validated through methodological triangulation, and analyzed using data condensation, display, and conclusion. The results show that male teachers have a moderate level of understanding, while female teachers fall into the high category, indicating gender and working period differences in mathematical and numeracy literacy. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan profil pemahaman konsep matematika dan literasi numerasi guru kelas Madrasah Ibtidaiyah berdasarkan gender dan masa kerja. Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek satu guru laki-laki dan dua guru perempuan untuk masa kerja kurang dari 10 tahun, dan satu guru laki-laki dan dua guru perempuan untuk masa kerja lebih dari 10 tahun. Pengumpulan data melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematika dan literasi numerasi serta wawancara. Triangulasi teknik digunakan untuk validasi data. Analisis data dilakukan melalui kondensasi data, penyajian, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemahaman konsep matematika dan literasi numerasi guru laki-laki berada pada kategori sedang, sedangkan guru perempuan berada pada kategori tinggi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan adanya perbedaan pemahaman matematika dan literasi numerasi berdasarkan gender dan masa kerja.
