Abstract

As Indonesia enters the era of an aging society, protecting the elderly becomes increasingly important, particularly for family members who serve as primary caregivers. This study aims to analyze the impact of family characteristics, elderly characteristics, family functions, social support, and caregiving burden on family resilience. The research sample consisted of families with elderly members in the household, focusing specifically on wives as respondents in the Kemang District, Bogor Regency. We collected data through direct interviews with 120 respondents and analyzed them using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The findings reveal that family function and social support have a significant and positive impact on family resilience. These factors contribute to the family's ability to adapt, cope, and maintain stability despite the challenges of caring for elderly members. Conversely, the burden of caregiving has a significant negative impact on family resilience, indicating that higher caregiving demands can strain family resources and emotional well-being. This study underscores the importance of strengthening family functions and enhancing social support systems to bolster family resilience in the face of aging-related challenges. Addressing these factors can help to improve the quality of care for the elderly and support the well-being of families in Indonesia's aging society.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

COVID-19 has had an impact on family life in both single-earner and dual-earner families. This study aims to analyze the effect of family characteristics, husband-wife gender roles, and family interaction on family well-being in single-earner and dual-earner families. This study was conducted in September 2021 and used a cross-sectional design with secondary data analysis from a family quality survey. Purposive sampling was used. The sample consisted of 986 families, namely families with an intact family type who had children, lived in DKI Jakarta, and had a single-earner or dual-earner status. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test and structural equation Modeling (SEM). The study found differences between single- and dual-earner families in the number of children, husband-and-wife education, family income, family interaction, and family well-being. Based on SEM analysis, in single-earner families, family well-being can be improved directly or indirectly by increasing family income, by achieving equality in husband-wife gender roles, and by improving good family interaction. In dual-earner families, family well-being can be directly improved by increased family income, equality of gender roles, and better family interaction. The conclusion was that families strive to increase income, establish gender equality, and interact well to improve family well-being.

Abstract

Family interactions are needed in disasters because they play an important role in strengthening the emotional bonds between family members. In husband-wife interaction, different family roles and functions make couples feel complementary. This study aims to analyze the influence of socioeconomics, religiosity, and coping strategies on the interaction of husband and wife families of earthquake survivors in the Cianjur district. The study population was families of earthquake survivors in Cianjur Regency. The research sample was selected using a stratified non-proportional random sampling technique based on lightly damaged and heavily damaged houses. Respondents in the study were the wives of earthquake survivors in Cianjur Regency, with 200 respondents. Data processing and analysis used Microsoft Excel, Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 25.0 for descriptive analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) for influence analysis. The results showed high religiosity, spousal interaction involvement, and high satisfaction. Coping strategies, frequency of husband and wife interaction, and potential conflict between husband and wife are in the medium category. This study shows that husband and wife interaction is positively influenced by husband and wife's education, age of marriage, family income-expenses, and religiosity and negatively influenced by husband and wife's age. In addition, religiosity also has a positive effect on coping strategies. This study implies that families of disaster survivors are expected to increase family religiosity to improve husband and wife interactions. Local governments are advised to conduct adequate education for community readiness to face disasters.

Abstract

The decline in people's income causes their financial prosperity. This can occur due to a lack of public awareness in managing finances for the future or a lack of interest in investing. This research aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy (knowledge, attitudes and behavior) on investment interest. This research is a quantitative descriptive study involving 205 respondents who met the criteria, namely adults and not yet invested. Sampling was carried out using voluntary sampling techniques from people who were willing to become respondents. The data collected is primary data obtained directly from respondents by filling out an online questionnaire. The research results show that the respondents' financial knowledge is in the low category, while the respondents' financial attitudes and behavior are in the medium category. The investment interest of all respondents is in the low category. The results of the analysis also show that investment interest is directly influenced by financial knowledge and financial attitudes. Financial knowledge has an indirect influence on investment interest, namely through financial attitudes. It is hoped that the public can increase their financial literacy and interest in investing through socialization, advocacy and mentoring programs.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia's rapid growth in the e-commerce fashion sector presents opportunities and challenges, particularly in addressing consumer dissatisfaction during post-purchase experiences. Key challenges include product misrepresentation, delivery delays, or unmet expectations, which can lead to negative behaviors such as complaints, reduced loyalty, and distrust toward sellers. Purpose: This study investigates the impact of perceived justice dimensions—interactional, procedural, and distributive—on satisfaction with complaint handling and its subsequent effects on customer trust, customer commitment, and customer loyalty. Methods: This study employed a cross-sectional survey with a purposive sampling technique, collecting data from 174 respondents in the Jabodetabek region. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used for analysis. Findings: This research reveals that distributive and procedural justice significantly influence complaint handling, while interactional justice has a smaller yet notable impact. Complaint handling, in turn, significantly enhances both customer commitment and customer trust, with customer commitment emerging as a stronger driver of customer loyalty. Notably, customer trust's direct effect on customer loyalty is insignificant, suggesting that emotional engagement through commitment plays a more pivotal role in fostering loyalty. Conclusion: These findings underscore the importance of fair complaint resolutions, efficient processes, and empathetic communication in maintaining customer relationships. Research implication: The findings provide actionable insights for e-commerce businesses to improve customer satisfaction with complaint handling, particularly emphasizing the critical roles of distributive justice and procedural justice in fostering satisfaction.
