Abstract

Background: The case of stunting in toddlers can be caused by infectious diseases such as acute respiratory infection as the direct factor and the physical conditions of the household environment as the indirect factor. This study aims to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the household environment and history of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) to the stunting cases in toddlers in 13 stunting locus villages in Ogan Ilir Regency 2024. Method: This study used a case-control study focusing on stunted toddlers aged 24-59 months in 13 locus villages in Ogan Ilir Regency. A total of 129 samples of under-fives were obtained using the Lameshow formula, with a ratio of 1:2 found (43 cases and 86 controls). Inclusion criteria were stunted toddlers for cases and non-stunted toddlers in the neighborhood for controls. This study examined various factors including wall type, floor type, ceiling type, residential density, temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation, and history of acute respiratory infections (ARI). Data analysis included univariate, bivariate (using chi-square test), and multivariate (using multiple logistic regression) methods. Result: The bivariate analysis showed a significant association between residential density (p-value = 0,010), ventilation (p-value = 0,002), history of acute respiratory infection (ARI) (p-value = 0,000), moderate ARI severity (p-value = 0,000), and one-time ARI frequency (p-value = 0,001) with the stunting cases in Ogan Ilir Regency. Multivariate analysis identified history of ARI as the dominant factor influencing stunting in toddlers (OR = 13,458 95% CI 3,618 – 50,063). Conclusion: This study conducted in 13 villages of Ogan Ilir regency found that factors such as residential density, ventilation, and a history of acute respiratory infections (ARI) were significantly linked to stunting in children aged 24 to 59 months with the history of ARI was the dominant factor against stunting in toddlers.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of teachers' pedagogical and professional competencies in shaping students' character. Pedagogical competence, which includes understanding and applying effective learning principles, as well as professional competence, which focuses on mastery of subject matter and curriculum development, plays an important role in forming students' positive attitudes and behaviors. This study aims to examine the relationship between these two competencies and character formation, such as moral values, discipline, and responsibility. The findings show that the development of both pedagogical and professional competencies can create a learning environment that supports the strengthening of students' character, both in the classroom context and in daily interactions. Therefore, improving teachers' competencies is crucial to achieving educational goals that focus not only on cognitive aspects but also on the affective aspects of students.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Orange peel extract has antibacterial activity, green tea extract has antiperspirant activity and papaya extract has skin lightening activity so that the three extracts are combined and a deodorant gel preparation is made. The deodorant gel is expected to give a cool feeling and be fast in application. The basic carbomer concentration used in this study is 0.5% -2%. The purpose of this study was to obtain deodorant formulations with active plant substances and to obtain optimization of formulations and to see physical evaluations of deodorant gel preparations combined with extracts of orange peel, green tea and papaya fruit. The method used is a pre-experimental one case shot study. Deodorant gel combination of extracts of orange peel, green tea and papaya fruit was made into three formulations with different gelling agent variations, in formulation I used carbomer (0.5%), formulation II used carbomer (1.5%) and formulation III used carbomer (2%). Organoleptic test and homogeneity test have met the requirements. In the pH test, it was found that the three formulations were in accordance with the skin pH requirements. on the viscosity test, formulations II and III met the viscosity requirements. Spreadability test, formulation I was in accordance with the requirements of the gel. The adhesion test, the three formulations complied with the adhesive power requirements, the dry time test, the three formulations complied with the dry time test requirements. irritation test showed that the three formulations did not cause a reaction, which means that the three formulations were safe to use. The optimal formulation is formulation I as seen from the mean value of the evaluation test carried out.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of school management in SD Negeri Mulia, Puncak Jaya, Central Papua Province, with a focus on aspects of leadership, curriculum and learning, teaching quality, facilities, financial management, parent participation, student achievement, student welfare, continuous evaluation, and community relations. The research approach used by the researcher is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include: observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique begins with reducing the data, followed by presenting the data, and finally draws conclusions. The results of the study show that the participatory leadership applied by the principal, Mrs. Maria Wanggai, has succeeded in creating a collaborative work environment, despite budget and infrastructure constraints. The curriculum used is in accordance with national education standards, but its implementation is hampered by limited resources. Teachers are highly committed and experienced, but require more professional training. School facilities, including classrooms, libraries, and computer labs, require repairs and additions to equipment. Financial management is carried out transparently, but the available budget is often insufficient. Parents are actively involved in their children's education and value better communication with the school. The academic performance of students is quite good, especially in the fields of science and mathematics. The health and hygiene program is running well, but some facilities such as toilets need to be improved. Community support is strong, and partnerships with NGOs help in improving educational facilities and programs.
