Abstract

The integration of science and Islam in education is a response to the historical dichotomy between religious knowledge and secular sciences that continues to influence modern Islamic education systems. As core institutions of Islamic education, madrasahs and pesantrens hold strategic potential to promote a holistic and tauhid-based educational paradigm. This study aims to explore the conceptual framework of science-Islam integration, analyze integrative learning models applied in madrasahs and pesantrens, and identify the key challenges and opportunities in its implementation. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review and curriculum analysis, this research finds that integration can be realized through tauhid-oriented curricula, contextualizing scientific concepts with Qur’anic verses, and implementing interdisciplinary and holistic learning models. However, significant challenges remain, including a lack of qualified teachers capable of integrating both fields, limited availability of integrative teaching materials, and inadequate laboratory infrastructure. Therefore, this study recommends enhancing teacher competence, developing integrated teaching modules, and fostering collaboration between Islamic schools and Islamic universities. The findings highlight the urgency of constructing an Islamic education model that is not only spiritually grounded but also responsive to scientific and technological advancements.

Abstract

The transformation of education from the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to Society 5.0 demands the development of 21st-century skills. In science learning, the human digestive system is considered complex, requiring adaptive instructional media. A systematic literature review using the PRISMA method was conducted on 20 articles from Scopus, Google Scholar, and Connected Papers (2020–2024). Inclusion criteria focused on the development of Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based student worksheets (LKPD) and content related to the digestive system. About 85% of the articles targeted the junior high school level. All studies reported that PBL-based LKPD improved conceptual understanding, critical thinking, collaboration skills, and scientific literacy. Approximately 60% incorporated interactive technology-based media. PBL-based LKPD is proven to be feasible and effective in supporting the Merdeka Curriculum and fostering contextual and meaningful learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the educational approaches and strategies used by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in conveying Islamic teachings during the Mecca phase. The Mecca period was an important phase in the history of Islamic preaching, during which the Prophet faced complex social, cultural, and political challenges. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using literature review methods, analysing primary sources such as the Quran, hadith, and relevant classical and contemporary literature. The findings reveal that the Prophet's educational strategies in Mecca emphasized the cultivation of faith, character development, and the promotion of values such as monotheism, patience, and noble ethics. The methods employed included a personal (individual) approach, covert (sirriyah) preaching, setting a good example (uswah hasanah), and utilizing a limited social environment such as the house of Arqam bin Abi Arqam as a centre for training. This strategy demonstrated effectiveness in shaping the early generation of Muslims who were resilient and highly committed to Islamic teachings. The educational methods used by the Prophet in Mecca remain relevant for application in contemporary education, particularly in instilling faith and Islamic education, character and moral education for foundational or basic education.

Abstract

Stress is an increasing mental health problem and greatly affects various aspects of a person's life in this era of globalization. In religion, forms of spirituality have been shown to play an important role in helping individuals overcome emotional and mental stress, one of which is ablution. Based on this, the purpose of this study is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the effect of ablution on relaxation and stress with an integrated approach between religion and psychology. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature review method. Data collection was carried out by collecting and analyzing various relevant scientific sources, including journals, books, and academic articles. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The effect of ablution on relaxation and stress greatly helps individuals in overcoming emotions and stress, 2) The form of integration of religion and psychology in the context of ablution is that ablution not only prepares individuals for worship, but also provides psychological benefits that can support relaxation and general well-being

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pentingnya strategi aplikatif yang seimbang antara spiritual Islam dan kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dalam pendidikan Islam agar mampu meghadapi tantangan modernisasi terutama terkait dengan sekularisasi dan westernisasi berdasarkan pemikiran Al-Attas dan Gulen.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana Al-Attas dan Gulen memberikan jawaban teoritis dan praktis terhadap krisis identitas pendidikan Islam kontemporer, serta bagaimana ide-ide mereka dapat berfungsi sebagai dasar untuk pengembangan sistem pendidikan Islam yang integratif, spiritual, dan kompetitif. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yakni studi pustaka (literatur) yang bersumber dari artikel, buku, dan lainnya, dengan pola deduktif induktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas dan Fethullah Gülen memberikan kontribusi penting dalam menjawab tantangan pendidikan modern, yang mana Al-Attas menekankan konsep Islamisasi ilmu pengetahuan, yang bertujuan untuk memurnikan ilmu dari pengaruh sekularisme dan mengintegrasikan sains dengan nilai-nilai Islam dan juga mengembangkan konsep Ta’dib, yang menekankan pentingnya adab dan akhlak dalam pendidikan. Sementara itu, Gulen melalui konsep Hizmet mengembangkan sistem pendidikan berbasis spiritual dan sosial yang menyeimbangkan antara ilmu modern dan nilai-nilai Islam. Adapun implikasi pemikiran keduanya dalam pendidikan Islam di Indonesia yaitu reformasi kurkulum berbasis nilai Islam, pendidikan karakter berbasis adab, dan model pendidikan inklusif.
