Abstract

Generative artificial-intelligence (GenAI) systems are rapidly permeating language education, yet their effects in multilingual, resource-varied classrooms remain under-examined. This 14-week qualitative multiple-case study investigated how GenAI mediates learner autonomy, inclusive participation, multicultural identity work, and teacher practice in four Indonesian EFL settings (three senior-high schools and one university). Data comprised 24 hours of classroom observation, 76 semi-structured interviews, four focus-group discussions, and 6 752 learner-AI log entries. Reflexive thematic analysis produced four inter-locking themes. AI-mediated autonomy emerged as students progressed from copying teacher prompts to crafting and iterating their own, evidenced by a 142 % rise in self-initiated prompting and increased lexical diversity (type–token ratio =.58). Inclusive voice was fostered through translanguaging cycles, text-to-speech, and complexity-controlled outputs, elevating the unique-speaker index from .54 to .82. In multicultural identity negotiation, learners embedded local idioms (e.g., sipakatau) and deployed iterative counter-prompts to correct Western-centric bias, averaging 2.1 revisions per cultural task. Pedagogical re-positioning saw teacher talk-time fall from 61 % to 34 %, as instructors shifted from grammar transmitters to AI-literacy mentors who facilitated prompt-engineering and bias-hunt workshops. These benefits were conditional on equitable connectivity and critical-AI scaffolding; absent such supports, GenAI risked reinforcing dependency and cultural erasure. The study advances a blended sociocultural–critical-digital-literacy framework, offering practical design principles (prompt workshops, bias-mitigation routines) and policy guidance (minimum-access packages) for the equitable integration of GenAI into language education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik kendaraan dan hubungannya terhadap konsentrasi emisi gas buang pada kendaraan operasional Dinas Perhubungan Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap sembilan kendaraan dengan berbagai merek, kapasitas silinder, umur kendaraan, panjang perjalanan, dan intensitas perawatan yang berbeda. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi langsung serta pengujian emisi gas buang berdasarkan parameter CO dan HC untuk mesin bensin, serta opasitas (opacity) untuk mesin diesel. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa 88,88% kendaraan lulus uji emisi, sementara 11,11% tidak lulus karena melebihi ambang batas opasitas yang ditetapkan, terutama pada kendaraan Mitsubishi Truck. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perawatan kendaraan merupakan faktor paling berpengaruh terhadap tingkat emisi gas buang. Kendaraan dengan umur lebih dari 10 tahun tetap dapat memenuhi baku mutu emisi selama dilakukan perawatan secara rutin. Selain itu, panjang perjalanan yang telah ditempuh juga turut memengaruhi emisi gas buang karena semakin panjang jarak tempuh, konsumsi bahan bakar meningkat sehingga emisi gas buang pun bertambah. Namun demikian, intensitas dan kualitas perawatan kendaraan mampu menekan peningkatan emisi tersebut. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pengelolaan operasional kendaraan melalui perawatan berkala guna menjaga performa mesin dan menekan pencemaran udara dari emisi kendaraan bermotor.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi konsumen dan kapasitas pelaku UMKM kopi dalam menerapkan prinsip ekonomi sirkular dan praktik bisnis hijau. Program ini dilaksanakan bersama mitra UMKM Hatory, coffee shop di Kota Tarakan melalui pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif, yang mencakup pelatihan green business, pemasangan media visual edukatif, serta pelibatan aktif mahasiswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman konsumen terhadap isu lingkungan, dengan 83% responden menyatakan media visual efektif dalam mendorong perubahan perilaku konsumsi. Di sisi lain, pelatihan kepada mitra UMKM menghasilkan peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 41% dan mendorong rencana pengurangan limbah plastik serta diversifikasi produk berbasis limbah ampas kopi. Sebanyak lima mahasiswa terlibat secara langsung dalam perancangan dan evaluasi program, yang sekaligus mendukung pencapaian Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) 3 dan 6 perguruan tinggi. Model kegiatan ini dinilai memiliki potensi replikasi tinggi di warung kopi lain, dan berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian SDG 12 (konsumsi dan produksi berkelanjutan) serta SDG 14 (ekosistem laut), melalui upaya pengurangan limbah plastik. Kegiatan ini menegaskan pentingnya sinergi antara literasi lingkungan, pemberdayaan UMKM, dan keterlibatan perguruan tinggi dalam mendorong transformasi menuju bisnis lokal yang lebih lestari dan regeneratif.

Abstract

Rural internet networks frequently struggle with unstable connections, bandwidth waste, and cyber vulnerabilities. We optimized bandwidth management and network security by implementing Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) alongside Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS). PPPoE manages user authentication and dynamic bandwidth allocation, while IDPS identifies and blocks network threats. Our experimental research took place in Sukanegara Village network environment. Testing involved network load simulations and cyber-attack scenarios to evaluate system performance. We compared network metrics before and after implementation, focusing on bandwidth consumption, threat detection rates, and connection stability. PPPoE implementation reduced bandwidth consumption by 35% through controlled user access and fair distribution mechanisms. The IDPS successfully detected 92% of simulated attack attempts, including port scanning, flooding attacks, and unauthorized access attempts. Network latency dropped significantly during peak usage hours, while connection stability improved across all user categories. The combined PPPoE-IDPS solution effectively addresses rural network challenges. The system delivers cost-efficient bandwidth management while maintaining robust security protection. Implementation requires minimal additional hardware and allows management by local technical staff. Our findings support widespread adoption in community and village-scale networks seeking reliable internet infrastructure with adequate security measures.

Abstract

This study presents a dataset on schools, teachers, and students in Sulawesi, Indonesia, covering kindergarten, primary, junior, senior high, and Islamic boarding schools. Using a descriptive mixed approach that combines statistical data, interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and document reviews, the study examines educational access, quality, governance, and cultural dimensions. Findings reveal disparities in enrollment across school levels, unequal teacher distribution between urban and rural areas, and limited cultural integration in curricula. Some levels showed participation gaps, while community involvement in school management remained weak. The dataset emphasizes the need for equitable teacher deployment, culturally responsive pedagogy, and community-based governance to support sustainable education reform and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the thermal performance of the starboard main engine on a tugboat, specifically a Mitsubishi type S6R2-T2MTK3L, by focusing on the phenomenon of exhaust gas temperature increase. Measurements were conducted over six days under two operational conditions: towing an empty barge and towing a fully loaded barge. The results indicate that the exhaust gas temperature was significantly high in both conditions, with a temperature difference of 40 °C at low engine speed and up to 100 °C at high speed. These findings suggest incomplete combustion, indicating the need for further improvement in the engine's combustion process. Meanwhile, fuel temperature remained relatively stable in both conditions, with a maximum difference of only 3 °C at medium and high engine speeds, suggesting that the fuel delivery system is operating safely. The analysis of specific fuel consumption (SFC) revealed inconsistent trends in relation to engine speed. The highest SFC was recorded at 600 rpm while towing a fully loaded barge, at 0.01855 l/kWh. The highest engine torque was 7523.885 Nm at medium speed, while the lowest torque was 7165.605 Nm at high speed. This study concludes that high exhaust gas temperatures serve as a primary indicator of combustion inefficiency in the starboard main engine, requiring further evaluation to maintain operational efficiency and safety of the tugboat.
