Abstract

ABSTRACT Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often exhibit self-stimulation behaviors (stimming), such as repetitive movements, sounds, or actions, which can disrupt therapy sessions and social interactions. These behaviors can impede the development of social skills and focus. Given the importance of non-invasive interventions, modifying play-based activities such as LEGO and maze games (LEMA) has been explored as a potential method to reduce stimming behaviors. (LEMA) game on reducing self-stimulation (stimming) behaviors in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The research employed an A-B-A design, including a baseline phase (A1), an intervention phase (B), and a post-intervention phase (A2), conducted over 12 sessions. Two children, RFQ and HG, both of whom exhibited frequent stimming behaviors, were selected as participants. The intensity of their stimming behaviors was measured before and after the intervention using observational data. The data were analyzed using visual analysis to identify changes in the frequency and intensity of stimming behaviors across phases. Additionally, percentage of non-overlapping data (PND) was calculated to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention data. The findings showed that stimming behaviors in both children, which originally lasted approximately 390 seconds during the baseline phase (A1), significantly decreased during the intervention phase (B), with durations reduced to 48-55 seconds. After the intervention was stopped, stimming behaviors remained reduced in the post-intervention baseline phase (A2), indicating the effectiveness of the LEMA game in reducing these behaviors. Modifying the LEGO and Maze (LEMA) game effectively reduced self-stimulation behaviors in children with ASD. The results align with previous studies suggesting that structured play interventions, like LEGO and maze activities, can enhance focus and reduce repetitive behaviors in children with ASD.

Abstract

There is a trend of increasing SC procedures in a number of hospitals, both in private hospitals and goverment hospitals, even though the clinical risk to mothers who give birth through SC surgery is greater than the risk of normal (vaginal) birth. Psychological risks cannot be avoided because the pain after SC surgery is longer and there are risks to the baby. The risk of adverse post-SC consequences needs to be studied further from a health ethics perspective, starting from the doctor's decision-making process in carrying out SC surgery. This research method is analytical using a cross-sectional approach (V. Wiratna Sujarweni, 2020). Time and Place of Research: Research was conducted from June-August 2023. This research was conducted at the Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital in 2023. The number of types of birth with SC was 70 respondents and normal delivery was 26 respondents. The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal age, PEB/eclampsia, premature rupture of membranes (KPD), and gravida status, with SC delivery. From the research results it can be concluded that the type of delivery, maternal age, PEB/eclampsia, premature rupture of membranes (KPD), and gravida status, are factors that cause respondents to undergo SC delivery

Abstract

Background: Risk Violent behavior is a type of risky behavior directed towards oneself, others, or the environment. Aggressive behavior towards oneself can lead to self-harm actions up to suicide or neglecting oneself in the form of self-neglect. Violence against others is an act of aggression with the intent to cause harm or make others suffer. Objective: To describe the implementation of behavioral therapy in patients with schizophrenia who have issues with violent behavior risk. Method: Method In this study, the author uses a descriptive method where the researcher will describe the implementation of behavioral therapy at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital in South Sumatra Province. Results: The implementation of behavioral therapy on schizophrenia patients with a risk of violent behavior can be carried out well according to the established plan. The researchers evaluated the four patients and found that the implementation of behavioral therapy could help the patients control feelings of annoyance and anger, making them calmer and less prone to quick emotional outbursts, thereby reducing the symptoms of violent behavior risk experienced by the patients. Conclusion: The researcher hopes that the patients can maintain and implement what has been taught to them on how to control the risk of violent behavior through behavioral therapy. The researcher also hopes for the involvement of the patient's family in helping the patient control the risk of violent behavior by reminding or motivating the patient not to stop taking medication.

Abstract

Abstract

The use of intrauterine devices (IUDs) as a long-term contraceptive method remains low in Indonesia despite their high effectiveness and durability. Mothers' knowledge and attitudes greatly influence their decision to choose IUD contraception. This study aims to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes and the use of IUD contraception in the working area of the Lumpatan Community Health Center in 2025. An analytical survey with a case-control design using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 80 respondents (40 cases of IUD users, 40 controls who were not IUD users). Data were collected using a valid and reliable questionnaire with Chi-square analysis. 62.5% of respondents had good knowledge, 52.5% had a positive attitude, and IUD use was 50%. There was a significant association between knowledge (p=0.038) and attitude (p=0.020) with IUD use. Mothers with insufficient knowledge were three times more likely not to use IUDs, and negative attitudes increased the risk of not using IUDs by 5.3 times (OR=5.286). Knowledge and attitude play a crucial role in IUD use. Education and attitude interventions for mothers are recommended to increase IUD use.
