Abstract

Malaria is still a health problem in Indonesia caused by the protozoan genus Plasmodium through the bite of the Anopheles mosquito. One of the plants that can also be used to treat fever caused by parasitic diseases is bamboo (Bambusa sp.). The purpose of this research is to identify the type and potential of bamboo as an antimalarial compound in Lampung Province. This research be able to provide an overview of the diversity of bamboo species and their potential as an antimalaria compound in Lampung Provincein May-July 2020. Primary data collection methods were obtained directly in the field including bamboo stands, both growing wild and cultivating, and describing them. Morphological observations for identification such as rhizome root types; bamboo shoots; branching; culm; leaf; stem; and segments refer to the criteria used by Widjaja (1997). The data is analyzed descriptively and tabulated. The results obtained 14 species of bamboo consisting of 5 genera with 14 species: Gigantochloa robusta, Schizostachyum brachycladum (Kurz), Schizostachyum blumei, Gigantochloa atroviolacea, Gigantochloa pseudoarundinacea (Steud.), Bambusa vulgaris var. striata (Lodd.ex Lindl.), Gigantochloa apus (Kurz), Dendrocalamus strictus, Bambusa maculate (Widjaja), Bambusa glaucophylla (Widjaja), Dendrocalamus asper (Backer ex K. Heyne), Dinochloa scandens (Blume ex Nees Kuntze), Bambusa glaucophylla (Widjaja), Dendrocalamus asper (Backer ex K. Heey), Dinochloa scandens (Blume ex Nees Kuntze), Bambusa multiplex (Lour.) Raeusch. Ex Schult and Bambusa blumeana (Schult.f). Bamboo has the potential for crafts, construction, food, medicine (bamboo shoots from Bambusa vulgaris var. Striata, Gigantochloa apus leaves and water from Dinochloa scandens bamboo stems).Kata kunci: antimalarial,bamboo

Abstract

In Indonesia, dengue disease is becoming one of the health problems often occurs Extraordinary Events (KLB) in adults and even in children. It is closely related to the change of seasons, migration, as well as the places for mosquitoes to breed. This method is a survey / field observations. The data collection is done by sampling mosquito larvae inside and outside the home on each of 10 homes inspected every district in Metro Centre, Metro West, Metro North and Metro South. In practice, a survey carried out by using the method of single larvae is done by taking a single larva in every places that hold water found there to be further larvae further identification of the type of larvae. Based on the results of the study, obtained the following conclusions: Container / used as breeding places of Aedes sp in Metro City in 2013, are etub, old tires, bottles, coconut shells, buckets, cups, flower pots, bowls scars, brown skin, cans, drums, trash cans and fish ponds. The number of mosquito larvae Aedes sp found as many as 283 tail consisting of species Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The need for further research to determine the value of Numbers Free Flick (ABJ), House Index (HI), Container Index (CI), Breteau Index (BI) as well as education / socialization programs 3M plus follow up every 3 months to the public.Kata kunci: Extraordinary Events, Numbers Free Flick (ABJ), House Index (HI), Container Index (CI), Breteau Index (BI)

Abstract

Dengue fever is an infectious disease caused by a virus and is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Dengue fever has not yet found a cure and the only prevention is through mosquito vector  control. Health Department policy to prevent and eradicate dengue fever today is to make eradication by means of mechanical, physical, chemical or biological. Biological is one of alternative  control of mosquito vectors that are safe for humans and the environment but still effective in suppressing the mosquito vector. One attempt to do that is by using animals to fight other creatures, or better known as biological control. In the present research was performed using fish of Betta spp, Cyprinus carpio and Oreochormis niloticus as a natural predator of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The design of this research is  Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments are 3 types of fish with 5 times repeated. Data were analyzed with analysis of the range and tested further with the Smallest Real Differences Test (LSD) on the real level 5%. The result of this research is the ability Betta spp eating is higher than the Oreochromis niloticus and Cyprinus carpio by the number of larvae that consumed between 34.6 to 36.9 mosquito larvae tail. The ability to eat at various types of fish against mosquito larvae, influenced by several factors: the agressive, espesialisasi fish to food, the active duration and the amount of time the fish is active in 24 hours.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Pada masa pandemi virus Covid-19 saat ini membuka peluang bisnis baru di bidang budidaya jamu dan olahannya. Untuk mengubah persepsi jamu dari “minuman pahit dan kuno” menjadi “minuman sehat dan kekinian” maka konsep kekiniannya menggunakan tema urban lifestyle dan local branding. Segmentasi pasar yang dibidik tidak hanya kaum tua saja, namun kaum milenial juga diedukasi agar cinta budaya lokal. Sehingga tidak hanya tahu tentang jamu, tetapi juga mau minum jamu dengan penyajian yang lebih kekinian. Usaha Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga (UP2K) Desa Tiga Jaya, Kecamatan Sekincau, Kabupaten Lampung Barat berpotensi besar mengembangkan usaha jamu karena ketersediaan bahan baku yang melimpah. Namun produksi jamu masih menggunakan pola tradisional, belum ada inovasi kemasan produk, variasi rasa jamu, dan pemasaran secara e-commerce. Sehingga tim mahasiswa dalam program PHP2D berupaya mengembangkan produksi jamu yakni dengan memberikan alat/mesin pengaduk jamu semi modern agar produksi lebih cepat, mendesign kemasan jamu kekinian, menambahkan varian rasa jamu, dan membuat akun market place agar lebih dikenal oleh masyarakat  luas. Setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan jamu kekinian maka dalam sekali produksi jamu UP2K dapat menghasilkan 50 pcs kotak dengan 5 varian rasa dan mendapatkan keuntungan sebesar 62,5% dari modal. Kata kunci : jamu kekinian, PHP2D, UP2KABSTRACTDuring the current Covid-19 virus pandemic, new business opportunities are opened in the field of herbal medicine cultivation and its preparations. To change the perception of herbal medicine from “bitter and ancient drinks” to “healthy and contemporary drinks”, the current concept uses the theme of urban lifestyle and local branding. The targeted market segmentation is not only the elderly, but millennials are also educated to love local culture. So not only know about herbal medicine, but also want to drink herbal medicine with a more contemporary presentation. Efforts to Increase Family Income (UP2K) Tiga Jaya Village, Sekincau District, West Lampung Regency have great potential to develop herbal medicine business due to the availability of abundant raw materials. However, herbal medicine production still uses traditional patterns, there is no innovation in product packaging, variations in herbal flavors, and e-commerce marketing. So that the student team in the PHP2D program seeks to develop herbal medicine production, namely by providing semi-modern herbal mixing tools/machines for faster production, designing contemporary herbal medicine packaging, adding herbal flavor variants, and creating market place accounts to be better known by the wider community. After the socialization and training activities for making modern herbal medicine, in one production of herbal medicine, UP2K can produce 50 pcs boxes with 5 flavor variants and get a profit of 62.5% of the capital.Keywords: contemporary herbal medicine, PHP2D, UP2K

Abstract

Mosquitoes are vectors of various diseases such as malaria, DHF, and elephantiasis. Many attempts have been made to suppress the mosquito population, one of which is biological control using mosquito larvae. The purpose of this study was to determine the predation power of the Aedes sp larvae. This type of research is descriptive. The data obtained are presented in tabular form and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the predation power of betta fish (Betta splendens) was higher (80 larvae / 24 hours) compared to guppy fish (Poecillia reticullata) with 52 larvae / 24 hours and black molly fish (Poecillia splendens) with 42 larvae / 24 hours. The results of the study were validated by design experts and material experts with a percentage of 71.24% (good criteria) and compiled as a source of learning in the form of biology practical instructions for senior high school. Kata Kunci : Daya Predasi, Jentik nyamuk, sumber belajar biologi
