Abstract

The underlying issue of this research is the high prevalence of bullying among adolescents, which adversely affects their mental health, social well-being, and academic development. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Upright Project as a preventive measure against bullying in school-aged adolescents. A quantitative approach was employed with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a quasi-experimental pre-posttest with control group, to measure changes in bullying behavior and student resilience levels before and after program implementation. The sample consisted of 113 students aged 12 to 18, identified as a vulnerable group to bullying experiences. Bullying victimization levels were assessed using a questionnaire, and data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate techniques with Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Upright Project significantly reduced reported cases of bullying. Additionally, there was an improvement in students' resilience in coping with adversity. Posttest analysis indicated significant differences between the intervention and control groups, with the intervention group demonstrating the program's effectiveness. This study concludes that the Upright Project is an effective intervention for reducing bullying behavior and enhancing student resilience. These findings highlight the importance of implementing similar intervention-based programs to create safer school environments that support adolescent development.

The beginning of a quarter life crisis occurs when an early adult individual becomes a final year student who does not have enough preparation to face the realities of the world. Final year students need to have the ability to overcome these emotional instability. One of them is by having emotional intelligence (EQ) which can form a positive force to maintain harmony within oneself. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence (EQ) and quarter life crisis in final year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Jambi University. This research is a quantitative study that has used correlational methods with cross-sectional design. The sampling technique has used Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling with research instruments in the form of questionnaires in the form of SEIS and a quarter life crisis scale. Data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with gamma correlation test. There is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence (EQ) and quarter life crisis in final year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Jambi. The emotional intelligence (EQ) variable has a negative relationship with the quarter life crisis variable in final year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Jambi. The lower the emotional intelligence (EQ), the higher the quarter life crisis and vice versa. Final year students are expected to improve emotional intelligence (EQ) as an adaptive coping mechanism to deal with quarter life crisis.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and leading cause of cancer-related mortality among women globally. Beyond its physical impact, it brings complex psychological consequences, including stress, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can affect treatment adherence and quality of life. This literature review aims to explore the psychological impact of breast cancer diagnosis and identify the coping strategies used by patients to manage their emotional burden. A literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. Selected studies focused on psychological effects and coping mechanisms among breast cancer patients, including family and social support, cultural-religious factors, and psychological interventions. The findings show that emotional distress following a breast cancer diagnosis is influenced by cancer stage, treatment type, physical changes, support systems, and cultural belief. Adaptive coping strategies such as religious faith, emotional support, positive reframing, and acceptance promote psychological adjustment and treatment compliance. In contrast, maladaptive strategies like avoidance and denial worsen emotional outcomes. Breast cancer has a profound psychological impact requiring comprehensive mental health care. Integrating psychological and cultural-religious support into cancer treatment improves emotional well-being and clinical outcomes.

Abstract

Orphans are a special group of children who are generally marginalized and vulnerable to mental disorders. Efforts that can be made are to provide education about the importance of maintaining mental health as an effort to improve mental health. So that education can be easily understood by school age children, education needs to be delivered using varied media, namely pop-up book media because pop-up books provide surprises on every page which will make the story even more real. This research aims to determine the effect of using pop up book media on the mental health of school-aged children. This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research using a pretest-posttest control group design approach with 20 respondents divided into 10 intervention groups and 10 control groups. Data measurement with the SDQ instrument. Univariate data analysis using frequency distribution. Bivariate analysis uses paired t-test. The results of mental health research after being given pop-up book media were that in the intervention group, 10 respondents were in the normal category (100%) while in the control group 8 respondents were in the abnormal category (80%) and 2 respondents were in the borderline category (20% . which was tested using the paired t-test, the p-value was 0.001 or p < 0.05. This shows that there is a significant difference in mental health before and after being given education using pop up book media. There is a significant influence between mental health before and after being given pop-up book media at the Sumatra Rindang Foundation. It is hoped that the Sumatra Rindang Foundation can develop pop-up book media for a more interesting and effective learning process.

Abstract

Mental disorder is a psychological problem or clinical behavior pattern, which occurs in individuals and is associated with distress, disability or is accompanied by a significant increase in risks such as loss of independence, disability, causing illness or even loss of life. The prevalence of severe mental disorders such as schizophrenia reaches around 400,000 people or around 1.7 per 1,000 population. Hallucination sensory perception disorder is one of the main symptoms and most commonly found in clients with schizophrenia. Hallucinations are a symptom of mental illness in which the client experiences sensory changes and perceives false sensations in the form of sounds, images, tastes, touches, smells. The results of the study found that the patient had entered the RSJ for the third time and the patient said that while in the RSJ he only knew about rebooking and did not know the act of conversing and scheduled activities. Writing the final scientific work of nurses aims to analyze the implementation of nursing care in patients with sensory perception disorders: auditory hallucinations using the application of conversational distraction exercises and scheduled activities. The results of this scientific work showed a decrease in signs and symptoms of hallucinations after successfully achieving all the evaluation criteria for conversations and scheduled activities. This application can be used as teaching material for the development of knowledge about sensory perception disorders: auditory hallucinations.
