Abstract

Penentuan jenis koleksi buku perlu menjadi prioritas untuk diperhatikan karena berkaitan dengan kebutuhan bagi pengunjung, sehingga penting bagi para pengelola perpustakaan untuk mengetahui cara yang efektif dalam penambahan koleksi buku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan konsep data mining dengan algoritma K-Means Clustering dalam menentukan penambahan koleksi buku di Perpustakaan Universitas Timor. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder yang terdiri dari objek pengamatan jenis buku dan variabel yang diamati adalah jumlah buku yang dipinjam dari perpustakaan. Metode yang diterapkan dalam menganalisis data adalah K-Means Clustering. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa cluster optimal yang terbentuk adalah sebanyak dua cluster, dimana cluster pertama sebagai kategori buku yang paling diminati sedangkan cluster kedua kategori buku yang kurang diminati. Berdasarkan stok buku yang tersedia dan kategori buku diminati menunjukkan bahwa jumlah peminjam lebih banyak dari jumlah buku tersedia. Artinya penambahan koleksi buku yang diperlukan berasal dari jenis buku pertanian dan ekonomi.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the problem of autocorrelation, simple regression analysis with errorsfollowing the form of first-order autoregressive, Durbin Watson method using the Cochrane-Orcutt,Hildreth-Lu procedures and first differences in overcoming autocorrelation. The occurrence ofautocorrelation causes the alleged regression parameter with ordinary least square (OLS) not to producethe actual value. Therefore, to obtain the actual parameters applied Durbin watson method with all threeprocedures. Based on the data used in this thesis quoted from the book Applied Linear Statistical ModelsFifth Edition, the best procedure is given by Hildreth-Lu because it produces the smallest mean squareerror (MSE) value namely 0,204. This is because, the process of estimating the autocorrelation coefficientis based on iterations until a minimum sum square error (SSE) value is found.

Abstract

Crime is an aspect that affects the smooth running of the economy in society. The importance of the government's role in minimizing the occurrence of crime can be done by knowing the distribution of criminal characteristics in each province. The Model-Based Clustering method can help identify these characteristics. The Clustering process is carried out by ensuring that the distribution of variables is close to the normal distribution as seen from the QQplot and the independence of variable. The results of the Clustering show that there are two characteristics of criminality that are spread across the province of Indonesia. Identify the characteristics of the distribution of crime using the average value in each of the optimal clusters that have been obtained. The first cluster shows the distribution of 16 provinces with lower crime categories, while the second cluster shows the distribution of 18 provinces with high crime categories.
