Abstract

Generally, people use social media as a real-life reference. Social media provides freedom to share information, usually called 'content'. Every day, millions of pieces of information are absorbed and enjoyed by many people. This includes 'rubbish' information such as verbal abuse, swearing, and blasphemy. Freedom of expression has gone beyond borders. This phenomenon is called Digital Flaming. Digital Flaming is a detrimental behavior, both for the flamers and their victims. The impact that occurs most often attacks a person's mental state. Digital flaming occurs due to specific motivations or factors. This research aims to critically discuss a person's motivations for digital flaming on social media. The method used is qualitative, conducted in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with informants. This research shows that digital flaming occurs based on six motivations: fanaticism, incitement, spontaneous emotions, low literacy, anonymity through second accounts, and lack of empathy. The causal factors and various motivations identified in this research are the basis for determining strategies for preventing flaming behavior on social media. This way, we can minimize flaming on social media in the future.

Many study programs still have restrictions in this regard, however.Aims and Scope of Paper: This study aims to determine what facilities and infrastructure are needed in the MPI Study Program to support the learning process and whether these facilities and infrastructure affect the learning motivation of MPI study program students at IAIN Curup.Method: This research is a type of correlation study with two independent and dependent variables. The population of this study consisted of 94 students, with 25 eighth-semester students serving as a test sample for the questionnaire, while 69 second, fourth, and sixth-semester students comprised the research sample. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and unstructured interviews, using instruments with a modified Likert scale. Simple linear regression was used as part of data analysis methods.Result: The findings demonstrated that the infrastructure and learning facilities had a favorable and noteworthy impact on the students' motivation to learn in the MPI IAIN Curup study program, expressed by the regression equation Ŷ = 1,846 + 1,220 Χ. The strength of the influence or causality relationship is indicated by the beta coefficient of 0.955.Conclusion: Given the significant positive influence of learning facilities and infrastructure on learning motivation, there is a need to enhance the MPI IAIN Curup study program's infrastructure and learning facilities' accessibility and use.

Abstract

The development of students' potential and achievement in schools is strongly supported by learning practices based on a quality academic culture. This article describes the challenges and efforts of three private religious high schools in the City of East Jakarta to build their academic culture in their respective schools. This study uses qualitative methods, data collection is done through observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD) and secondary data collection. The subjects in this study were school principals, teachers, students and parents in three senior high schools which became the locus of this study. The results of this study indicate that the challenges and efforts to develop an academic culture are responded to differently. Each school that is our research focus mobilizes its resources to build and develop an academic culture. Challenges and efforts to develop an academic culture are of course related to school characteristics such as the quality of human resources, infrastructure and financial capabilities owned by each school itself.

Abstract

Background of Study:Librarian attitudes significantly influence user satisfaction and engagement in library services. Positive interaction between librarians and users fosters a welcoming environment and enhances service effectiveness. Aims and Scope of Paper:This research aims to explore both the attitudes of librarians in providing services and users’ perceptions of those attitudes at the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Office. Methods:A qualitative descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through observation and interviews with three library users selected via purposive sampling. The data analysis followed three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result:Findings indicate that the average number of visitors to the Tangerang Regency Library and Archives Office from 2022 to 2023 was approximately 136,270. Users generally perceive librarians as friendly and kind. However, users often need to initiate interaction before receiving assistance, indicating a lack of proactive service. This shows that while the overall demeanor of librarians is positive, there remains a gap in attentiveness and sensitivity to user needs. Conclusion:Although librarians are perceived positively in terms of friendliness, service delivery can be improved by fostering a more proactive and responsive approach to user needs. These findings highlight the importance of continuous professional development for librarians to enhance user experience.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a crucial competence in strengthening family financial planning and investment awareness. This community service program, Ngobrol Pintar (NGOPI), was initiated by Universitas Terbuka Medan in collaboration with Dharma Wanita Persatuan to address the need for accessible financial education in society. The program was implemented through an interactive seminar with 117 participants consisting of parents and children. The dialogue-based approach focused on gold investment as a practical entry point for understanding financial literacy. The seminar achieved active engagement from participants and increased awareness of financial management within the family context. Participants reported improved understanding of saving and investing practices, particularly related to gold as a long-term investment instrument. The findings indicate that financial literacy training through dialogue can effectively empower communities. Beyond a one-time session, the NGOPI initiative promotes sustainability by developing community-based financial literacy hubs, producing digital learning resources, and establishing partnerships with financial institutions and regulatory bodies. This approach positions financial literacy as an ongoing dialogue to build a culture of investment awareness and foster long-term financial resilience.
