Abstract

This study analyzed community participation in the Mpok Damira waste management program. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data will be collected from direct interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants in this study are Mpok Damira administrators, the Mpok Damira Program Manager (IDFoS), the Ngumpakdalem Village Head, and program beneficiaries. Researchers used Cohen and Uphoff's participation theory, which refers to participation in decision-making, implementation, benefit-taking, and evaluation. The results stated that in decision-making, the community was involved in the Mpok Damira formation meeting and participated in expressing opinions. For the implementation indicator, the community contributed labor and funds to support the program. Meanwhile, in the benefit-making indicator, the program provides many benefits for the community, such as additional income, improved social relations, cleanliness and tidiness of the environment, and increased community knowledge and skills. In terms of evaluation, community involvement is still minimal. The obstacles experienced in the waste management program are the low awareness of the community about sorting waste and the officers' delay in picking up household waste. Mpok Damira has community capital, such as social, human, physical, and financial capital, to increase community participation.

Abstract

Globally, the number of sexual disclosures (SH) in academia reaches 58%, the second highest after the military sector. This problem remains unresolved due to a lack of internal support and cross-sector mentoring. This study aims to formulate a Pentahelix collaboration model to mitigate SH in higher education. The research method uses a systematic literature review (PRISMA). The results show that a lack of understanding of gender equality and a culture of silence cause SH in higher education. Prevention of SH begins with policies that regulate and accommodate higher education for the benefit of victims. The main obstacle is the lack of understanding of gender equality and the evaluation of SH cases. Additionally, limited mass media space is another obstacle. For the effectiveness of the policy, collaboration between the government, private sector, community, media, and academics is essential through the Pentahelix. The government is responsible for developing law enforcement, while other sectors are aware of the negative impacts of violence against children. The researcher proposes eight phases for policy implementation, starting from defining violence against children to assessing policies that have been implemented.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environment) Certification Program implemented in tourist destinations in Sleman Regency for the recovery of the tourism sector post-COVID-19 pandemic. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research collects data through literature review and policy analysis, focusing on the input, output, and outcome indicators of the program. The findings show that the CHSE program can enhance tourists' trust in the cleanliness and safety of tourist destinations. However, significant challenges were found in its implementation, particularly in tourist destinations and village tourism, which have not fully understood the certification procedures and face financial constraints. The implications of this study highlight the importance of improving training, socialization, and technical support for destination managers to expand the application of CHSE, especially in village tourism. This research contributes to the literature on the recovery of the tourism sector in Indonesia by emphasizing the challenges of implementing CHSE certification at the destination level, which is crucial for sustainable tourism policies.
