Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in creative thinking skills of secondary school students through the application of the PjBL model with a STEAM approach to energy materials in living systems. This research uses a true experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all class VII students. The sample selection used a simple random sampling technique so that one experimental class was selected which applied the PjBL model with the STEAM approach and one control class which applied the conventional learning model. Data collection was carried out through creative thinking skills test questions and observation sheets. Posttest data on students' creative thinking skills were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, and observation sheets were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis using the N-gain test in the control class obtained a value of 47,4 in the medium category and the experimental class with an N-gain of 71 in the high category. It can be concluded that there is a significant increase in students' creative thinking skilss after learning using the PjBL model with the STEAM approach in learning Energy in Living Systems. Keywords: project based learning, steam, creative thinking skills, energy in living systems

Abstract

This research aims to develop the electronic student worksheets (E-LKPD) Pendap Bengkulu based on Discovery Learning as a Learning Media for Additive Material in Science lesson content for class VIII SMP. This study used the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), which was limited to the development stage with limited trials conducted at SMPN 03 Bengkulu City, with a sample of 33 students from class VIII.1. To collect data, several questionnaires were distributed to media experts, material experts, participants, and students. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical analysis techniques using percentage analysis. The results of the research showed that the feasibility test of E-LKPD involving 3 material experts, 2 media experts, and 2 participants resulted in an 92.3% percentage of validation test results, and it can be said that E-LKPD Pendap Bengkulu, which was developed as a learning medium for additive material for junior high school students, was very feasible to use. Analysis of student readability of E-LKPD Pendap Bengkulu as a learning medium for additive material for junior high school students resulted in a percentage of 89.8% readability response, indicating that E-LKPD is very well applied to junior high school students in grade VIII.

Abstract

Abstract

All kinds of plants that are found in nature and have medicinal properties are considered medicinal plants. Utilization of medicinal plants can be used directly and mixed. Battra is a person who has knowledge of traditional medicine and is capable of concocting medicinal plants. North Bengkulu is one of the districts that still use conventional medical care. Utilizing medicinal plants that are proven to be able to treat those derived from natural ingredients can be healthful because of very few side effects compared to drugs that contain chemicals. The goal of the study was to catalog the various medicinal herbs used by Battra North Bengkulu. This study used 10 respondents' interviews as its approach. Battra uses 64 species from 37 families of medicinal plants as traditional medicinal ingredients. The most common type of family is Fabaceae. The habitus group that is widely used is 45% trees. Types of diseases that are commonly treated traditionally using these plants include fever, toothache, itching, cramps, internal heat, scales, stomach pain, malaria, long-term fever, colds (cholera), ulcers, lungs, kidney stones, jaundice, high blood pressure, appendicitis, fussy children, eye disease, intestinal worms, kesapo, sprains, tumors and gout. In the processing of medicinal plants by Battra in North Bengkulu, 11 processes the highest drug processing method was by boiling as much as 37%.

Abstract

The Palak Siring Waterfall is a natural tourism object located in Kemumu Village, Armajaya District, North Bengkulu Regency were the area have variety of vegetation. This research aims to analyze the Terrestrial Fern Diversity in that area. The benefits of ferns in an ecosystem are as one of the pioneer organisms that open and start a new life in an ecosystem, food sources, and planting media. The method used is transect by forming (five) plots based on the slope of the land, consist of flat, sloping, rather steep, steep, and very steep areas. Plot size of 20 x 20 m placed along the transect line. Based on the survey was found 22 species with 13 types of family ferns in the Palak Siring Waterfall. The Diversity Index value of ferns (pteridophyta) belongs to the medium category. This certainly indicates that there is a fern that can adapt to the environment as well as other plants in area. Diversity of fern have the potential to be applied to junior high school science learning through several Basic competencies, materials, and forms of learning activities.

Abstract

Fish have the potential to be contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, which can originate from human activities, industry, and ports. The Bengkulu people have a traditional processing method that is believed to reduce heavy metal content in fish through the immersion of fish in Pendap dishes using water and lemon. This study aims to observe the reduction of heavy metal content in fish during the immersion process using water and lemon juice in Pendap dishes. The research was experimental with positive and negative results and analyzed using the SPSS ANOVA test to see significant differences between treatment groups. The fish used as samples included Tongkol Sarda orentalis, Kembung Rastrelliger kanagurta, Tuna Thunnus albacares, and Tenggiri Scomberomorus Lacepède. The parts of the fish that were analyzed included the muscles, liver, and gills. All samples were exposed to Pb(NO3)2 and divided into 3 treatment groups: 1 positive control, 2 precipitated with water, and 3 precipitated with lemon juice (Citrus limon). The samples were tested using the reagents NaOH, KI, NH4OH, and HCl. Based on the research results, it was found that the application of lemon juice produced significant results in reducing Pb levels, as indicated by the negative test results.
