Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan oleh dosen Bahasa Inggris Politeknik Perkeretaapian Indonesia kepada petugas PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (PT KCIC). Target dari program ini adalah 23 orang calon petugas pelayanan penumpang karena mereka diharapkan dapat melayani penumpang lokal maupun internasional. Oleh karena itu, mereka harus memiliki kemampuan bahasa asing yang memadai (terutama bahasa Inggris) untuk memberikan pelayanan yang prima. Strategi pengembangan masyarakat digunakan dan metode praktis yang diintegrasikan ke dalam Technical Communication Pedagogical Model (TCPM) dalam konteks perkeretaapian diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para peserta menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik dalam mempraktekkan komunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris setelah pelaksanaan pelatihan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan komunikasi teknis mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris petugas pelayanan penumpang dalam konteks Kereta Api Cepat.

The reactivation plan of the Madiun-Slahung railway line in the National Railway Master Plan is the main program for the development of the railway network and service stage IV in 2026-2030, therefore it is necessary to conduct research on the demand for traction and generation as well as passenger interest in the future Madiun- This shelters are reactivated. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of the calculation of the Madiun-Slahung area, it can be concluded that the model of the reactivation area of the Madiun-Slahung railway covers 7 districts, consisting of 45 sub-districts/villages. The method used is a household survey (Household Interview) which is intended to produce data on travel patterns and characteristics that affect the trip. The number of trip generation occurs in the range of numbers 6939-22594 motorbikes/hour for trip production and 1123-52265 motorbikes/hour for trip attraction, where zone 2, Kartoharjo sub-district has the largest number of trip production and zone 4, Ponorogo sub-district has the largest number of trip attractions. This is due to the high population, number of vehicle ownership and the strength of attraction due to the large number of shops and campuses and schools in the zone. The largest travel distribution value occurs in zone 4, because the zone is land use for shops, offices, campuses and schools.

In accordance with the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003, article 3 concerning National Education Goals and explained in article 15 that vocational education is secondary education that prepares students especially to work in certain fields which means that Vocational High Schools (SMK) aim to prepare graduates who are ready to work[1][2]. Job opportunities in the world of railways are very large, so it is necessary to provide initial or basic knowledge related to railway infrastructure, especially buildings and railway lines, to prospective graduates of the Central Java State Vocational School in Semarang in the field of Construction and Property Business expertise so that they have more knowledge in the field of railways as a provision to enter the world of work. The results of providing material in the form of Railway Infrastructure Knowledge Technical Guidance found that the technical guidance participants were very enthusiastic and enthusiastic.

Perkembangan perkeretaapian di Indonesia yang sangat cepat harus didukung dengan Sumber Daya Manusia yang memadai. Selain adanya alih teknologi terhadap teknologi baru yang ada maka juga penting menyiapkan SDM yang unggul agar generasi mendatang tidak hanya menerima teknologi tetapi juga dapat mengembangkan teknologi-teknologi baru. Kegiatan pengenalan prasarana jalur dan bangunan perkeretaapian kepada siswa-siswi MAN 2 kota Madiun ini dilakukan dengan tujuan agar siswa-siswi tersebut mengetahui dan memahami beberapa teknologi perkeretaapian khususnya prasarana bangunan dan jalur perkeretaapian yang dapat menjadi bekal dalam menghadapi perkembangan teknologi. Penyampaian materi dilakukan dengan metode ceramah. Materi yang disampaikan adalah prasarana perkeretaapian yaitu prasarana jalur dan bangunan perkeretaapian. Evaluasi ketercapaian tujuan pelatihan dilakukan dengan mengukur feedback peserta sosialisasi terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan. Beberapa pertanyaan yang diberikan meliputi beberapa aspek di antaranya peningkatan pengetahuan terkait prasarana perkeretaapian, tingkat manfaat kegiatan dan penyampaian materi.

This article aimed at knowing the attitude of distance learning to the Diploma students of Indonesian Railway Polytechnic. The objective of the study was to explore the students’ attitude towards distance learning, the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. The method used in this study were both qualitative and quantitative method to reveal students’ attitude towards distance learning. The research participants of this study were the fifth semester students. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that based on the result of the study that has been analyzed, it was seen that the students’ attitude towards distance learning was overall positive. And the advantages of distance learning are 1) More effective to learn independently, 2) Easier to manage the time 3) More familiar with the technology, and 4) Flexibility. While the disadvantages of distance learning are; 1) Harder to feel motivated and students’ boredom, 2) Difficult to get socialized with friends and to get feedback from the lecturer directly, 3) More theoretical then practical, 4) Hard to focus and many distractors such as internet connection or black out, and 5) More tasks and assignments.

The purpose of this study was to determine the need analysis of English module for railway engineering. To know the students’ need, this study used a questionnaire and observation to collect the data then it described qualitatively. In listening skill, the students need about the monolog including with videos The procedure would be identifying the content of conversation; (2) In speaking, the students would need to work in pair in practicing the dialog, and the procedure was discussing and presenting the material; (3) In reading the text would include the vocabularied about railway building and construction context and the procedure was about reading and answering the questions based on the text. (4) In writing, the material should be about writing the railway track component. The procedure was writing paragraphs; (5) In vocabularies. The students’ need to learn about parts of speech, and the procedure was identifying the meaning based on the language context; (6) the length of the material in 100-200 words (intermediate); (7) The setting of teaching and learning process was in the class and at the laboratories/workshop; (8) The lecturers’ role should be Creating a pleasant atmosphere so that students are able to solve problems actively and are able to do their tasks well; and (9) The students’ role needs to discuss and participate actively during teaching ang learning process

Losses due to accidents, especially at level railroad crossings, cause losses that are in line with the extent of accidents. The value of losses arising from accidents was studied to increase public awareness about the number of losses, both material and non-material losses. Each element of accident costs is assessed by gross power according to Pd.T-02-2005-B. The characteristics of traffic accidents are identified based on several factors including gender, transportation mode, and factors that cause accidents. Afterward, calculate the value of each element of the accident cost and the total accident cost. Victim’s estimated unit cost and the traffic accidents unit cost at railroad level crossings with barriers and without showing the result that the highest average per year is IDR 1.490.758.906 per accident. The amount of average traffic accident cost per year at railroad level crossing on intercity roads for the highest incident is IDR 1.241.181.688 per accident. The average traffic accident per year at railroad level crossing on city roads for the highest incident is IDR 863.664.801 per accident. The accident factors are shoving through a railroad level crossing, carelessness when crossing the railroad level crossing, disregarding signs when a train is about to pass, and being vigilant to warning signs when crossing a level crossing.

Railway technology is increasingly developing and the railway mode is quite a lot of interest by the public with its various advantages making trains an interesting topic for learning materials. Railway safety also needs to be introduced to the community early on. Therefore, socialization related to railway modes and railway safety was carried out to preschool students, namely PAUD “Kasih Ibu” Madiun city students. In addition to introducing railway transportation, this socialization activity also supports the achievement of Learning Outcomes in PAUD, namely the basics of literacy, mathematics, science, technology, engineering and art. The material was delivered with flashcards containing pictures and words about railroad facilities, railroad infrastructure, crew of railroad facilities and railroad safety signs. The evaluation of the activity showed that the average understanding of the socialization participants of the material presented was 80%.

Education about railways for Kindergarten (TK) students is one way to stimulate them from their environment. Field learning activities help to explore experiences that provide opportunities for kindergarten students to know and understand the learning experiences gained from the environment by observing, imitating, and experimenting. The activities carried out were direct exploration in the field which included practicing as a machinist in a train simulator, queuing at the station entrance ticket counter, boarding an inspection train directly. Community service is located at the Indonesian Railways Polytechnic Madiun. Kindergarten students are very enthusiastic and active in participating in all series of activities. The results of the implementation of community service can be concluded: (1) Kindergarten students can improve knowledge and insight related to railways directly in the field; (2) Train the emotional intelligence of kindergarten students about discipline and railway safety, as well as a culture of order when queuing so as to train their attitudes from an early age; (3) Assist the exploration of the experiences of kindergarten students related to railways.
